Happy new year my fellow nairalanders. It's well already with everyone of us in Jesus Name. One important information i have for you guys. Is not take your visa approval as an express permission to enter the United Kingdom. So, as you plan to travel make sure you have your funds readily available in your account. And also be ready for further interviews and interrogations at both your boarding and destination airports. Currently someone i know, who supposed to be coming in for Jan start was refused boarding because he couldn't show proof that he has his funds intact in his account. So I advise you all to apply due diligence in ensuring that you comply with not just the visa requirements but that of entry also. Best of luck to you all. Happy new week. |
Forumscroller:Is this what you could make out of the primary experiences shared here? So sad! Please why not quietly give your experience or at best, if you want, constructively respond to opinions you wish to react to, than being overly insulting and provoking. You should be able to note before that it's better for our brothers and sisters in here to travel prepared to face any of those situations that were highlighted in this thread should they come up at any point than being caught up unaware. So, this insult (taking us to be liers and fear-mongers for sharing our experiences) is uncalled for as you may have so many other ways of driving home your opinions without insulting anyone. I am personally concerned because comments like yours can be detrimental to the fundamental goals of this platform. |
Vicodaf:Why you think so could be because people hardly announce their visa refusals here. |
Vicodaf:Who told you that. Another bad advice. I declared multiple refusals, and I got admissions to all the three schools that I applied to; LMU, UoSIL, and UoW. |
Vicodaf:This can be dangerous. Very bad advice. I had 4 previous visa refusals, 1 from UK, 2 from USA, 1 from Canada. Declared these refusals to both my uni and UKVI, yet visa approved at the end of the day. Though, I went through a rigorous application processes that involve multiple interviews, i.e., CAS application credibility interview and visa interview |
Ikekaike:You may want to reconfirm that you sent the requested documents according to UKVI instruction. I hope you put your application ref. no. in the subject field for easy recognition. |
A quick one for you guys before I forget. Starting from my experience from Nigeria. I would advise that on no account should anyone of you travel by road to the airport on your departure date, except for those residing in cities close to international airport location where they are scheduled to fly out from. You may want to travel to your departure designation latest, a day before or fly locally to avoid missing your flight. I missed my original flight departure schedule for 17th Sept. I left Anambra by 7am and got to MMIA by 10pm, of which boarding closes 9pm. Then I had to reschedule at an extra cost for the next day. You may also want to look at the list of prohibited items if you don't want your stuff to be seized and be confiscated at the airport. Please also be prepared to face further scrutiny while entering UK, even after completing UK student visa interview. I know that those of us that were interviewed before approving their visa application may think that the game is over as for visa interview. You may be stunned by what you will meet at the entry point. This time, it looks more like interrogation instead. Though I am not sure this applies to everyone. So, let's share our entry point experiences so we can understand the pattern. You may also avoid too much load as the way to your destination may involve a lot of transloading and multiple transport connections and exchanges. This can add more stress to you especially after a long flight. I hope this will be helpful to those of us who will be traveling afterwards Best of luck. |
Vicodaf:Certainly necessary. All you need to do to help your application is to give them a convincing enough reasons how your previous masters may benefit you. You may want send me a private msg for further info. Cos I will to know your background to be able to guide you better. There is no one answer fit all applicants' circumstances. |

@Vicodaf. You should expect questions around your choice of programme, e.g., why that programme, short and long term benefits of studying that course; your choice of school, e.g., why that very school your chose; your study destination, e.g., why UK out of the world's popular study destinations, say US, Germany, and Canada, and also why the particular city where your school is located. Tell how the programme will help in your future career development. And also, there are questions designed to see how much you know your course modules and structure of your programme. You may be asked to talk about a particular module that stands out to you. You have to be attentive through the interview and do not hesitate to request for questions to be respected to be sure you understand the question before answering. Some times questions could be rephrased to see how honest your answers are. Things you must avoid include giving generic answers, no cram work, and do not lie, be honest about your answers. That's all. As usual, UK visa officers are friendly set of persons, and I am sure that will make you to feel confortable with the interview. They interview lasts for 90mins as indicated in your interview schedule, so you may want to say as much as you can anytime the interview question comes to your know. Best of luck. |

Feyisharah:Did you ask him the documents submitted. And whether he has any previous visa refusals or study years gap. And also if he completed the visa application himself or through an agent |
Feyisharah:That would be priority application |
Had all those that did their biometric on or b4 15th of August gotten decision on their UK student visa application? Kindly share your experiences |
doublestar21:Congratulations, Please could you give us the breakdown of your visa processing timeline and documents submitted |
Nememmaobi:Wow... Seems many more will drop between now and 5pm today. Congratulations once more |
Ayobami227:I think what is needed here is just you being honest to yourself because you ought to know to know your circumstances better than anyone else. I believe you know what income means, and salary in this context can be referred to as one source of your income. And expenses, on the other hand, denotes monies spent presumably from your income. You may be required to provide proof of other sources of your income aside your monthly salary as you claim to have had other sources. With this, I see nothing wrong if you spend more than your monthly salary. But where I feel you would need some further clarifications is in a situation whereby you spend more than your income. This is just a common sense reasoning from me, I am not an expert though |
Nememmaobi:Warmest congratulations. Thanks for updating. |
As we expect many success updates this week, please help us drop yours here as they come. Best wishes. Happy new month with a new week. |

sharkdodo14:You may consider using the VSF Global paid document service. That's what I used. But make sure you have all the documents you want to upload in A4 paper format |
