CXLVII:What blunder? Bringing a northern candidate after buhari would be the blunder which PDP would milk for all its worth and they would be right. You don't know what you are saying. 1 Like |

Abagworo:Have you heard of the phrase ''stooping to conquer''?. Anambra politicians can be arrogant, which is very true, and that has been a bane of South eastern unity, but that is where zik-like humility and tact comes into play. He should have atleast respected the fact that APGA was created by an anambra visionary in the person of ojukwu and made compromises. Just look at okorocha today. He wants the presidency but he need the east to get it. 1 Like |

CXLVII:Bleh. All it takes is a re-alignment of forces. It was just recently under OBJ(For obvious reasons is not a yoruba nominated president) when the SW was in the political wilderness thanks to Tinubu. We all know the region that has always being perpetual opposition. Politics is changing. After the buhari presidency, Nigeria's political terrain automatically becomes uncertain, with an APC southern candidate and a PDP northern candidate. |

WhoRUDeceiving:okorocha is a sad case indeed. He could have built on his popularity in the north with a strong eastern base. He had it all and he threw it all away. He already has northern support, all that was left was for him to govern imo state under the APGA platform judiciously, build APGA to become a formidable regional party in view of becoming a national party, then maybe peacefully and quietly decamp to any northern party after eight years as governor with northern and SE/SS support powering him to the presidency. He could have been a reincarnation of zik. But no, he had to be a traitor. paving the way for historically political inferiors in the south to take over national politics. 1 Like |

mykl01:Ofcourse i am only assuming the elections were not bought and was the wish of the people. I don't want to see an APC governor in imo state after that collosal mistake in okorocha. That would be a big mistake. It is time to rebuild the east and entrench igbo ideologies in governance and meritocratic capitalism as laid down by zik. Vote AGPA. |

Nature129:That is utter stupidity. And the fact that imolites are very enlightened makes it even more bewildering. How has okorocha the northern governor and his APC boys benefited them ? This is the same man building schools in kano as imo state governor, built a christmas tree with 600million in the midst of abject poverty and made a mess of sam mbakwe's legacies. I would expect them being cerebral voters to go for APGA. Obiano though a mediocre when compared with world standards is currently the best of the crop. |

What an utter cesspit of a country. Btw, let me even assume for a second that the people voted for APC. What exactly is APC selling point in the east that would even grant them a single vote? How has APC benefited the average igbo man , woman and child from the local government to the state governor and even the utterly useless federal government? Why not vote for APGA and begin the process of true integration and development instead of these parties of strangers in APC and PDP?. Something is wrong with a lot of imo people and the east in general. 2 Likes |

AgentOrange:Stop this shitt and respect yourself, damnit. The US did not become a nation of 50 states overnight. Many of the states had to apply to join the union. Pueto-rico is still today trying to become the 51st US state even though it is already a US protectorate. Stoping forcing people and creating enmity where it shouldn't exist. Develop the SE first and see if others would not want to join. 9 Likes |

Abagworo:ndi-igbo does not need more Nigerianistic leaders. Leaders that have turned igboland to ridicule and made us a ridicule before liliputians. Corrupt Nigerianistic leaders enriching themselves with the future of ndi-igbo along with their WAZOBIA fellows. We already have enough of them. What igboland need are igbocentric leaders. Leaders that are first igbo before being Nigerian. Leaders that would take the bull by the horn like their colleagues in scotland are doing. Okorocha is not igbocentric. A man that went and build schoosl in the north as imo state governor does not deserve any iota of respect or followership. Infact a leader that would do what is best for igboland would never be electable in Nigeria's federal government. Because he/she would have stepped on a lot of toes and re-opened cans of historical and continual injustices perpetuated against igboland. 1 Like |

kropotkin2:The conditions that brought about the disintegration of the SU was even more precarious. The SU was a nuclear nation with far more people and yet the world didn't give a damn. The so-called contest of arms is nothing new.It is already happening in Nigeria anyway. The fear of contest of arms is not a strong enough reason to forego a better future. Btw, Who are these people that would bring the so-called contest of arms anyway? Anybody that wants to go to civil war for Nigeria. Goodluck with that. |

kropotkin2:Null. That is what you tell yourselves to keep you in that cesspit. Soviet union a legitimate world power with nukes disintegrated and nothing happened, with the world moving on. IPOB from the indication of things is not what will disintegrate Nigeria. The president and the long standing fulani unmerited arrogance is what will do the job sooner or later. Nigeria is on the brink already. Any region that wants to go war for One naijeria is on its own. I hope they have the military might to support it. Igboland would definitely not join in the fight for Nigeria. 2 Likes |

If Nnamdi azikiwe and igbo leaders of the 60s have not made the terrible mistake of using their superior intellect in conning the brits into creating Nigeria and granting it independent legitimacy , Miserable sods like you would have known your true level in the evolutionary scale of nations. Don't blame you at all. 1 Like |

Victorvexz:And your region is not a flop? Which part of yorubaland is fit for human existence? You are truely ignorant. Whose job is to build critical federal roads in the SE? Your father? If your governors are not morons then why haven't they completed the lagos-ibadan expressway in over 16 years? Recently i just heard about a governor from oyo state requiring people to beg him before opening schools What of fayose and the kleptomaniac , Tinubu. Backward slaves who love their chains. Yorubaland is governed by george washington and wiston churchill combined . Bloody illiterate. Our region is a huge flop because it is being governed by one-Nigeria loving criminal elites. The people you like to use as point of reference against the wish of the igbo people in seeking for a new nation. 1 Like |

It can not compare to any civilized place in europe and america or even southern africa. But thanks for the reminder, we would make it a better place with the right people. |

Victorvexz:I doubt if Nigeria would still exist if igboland leaves, but anyway goodluck with whatever is left of it. A Nigeria state with all its size is nowhere the likes of ethiopia, algeria or even egypt in terms of strategic strength. Those nations would bully you if they want to. Israel, poland, belarus are very tiny nations, but with real strength that Nigeria will never have. Even Isreal merely the size of delta and edo state combined, but she calls the shots in issues and matters that Nigeria can never dare to contribute. And her citizens are very prosperous btw. That is the kind of vision i have. A small totally productive state with a lean and thoroughly efficient military that would punch far above its weight. Sorry, i am not bothered about Nigeria. If my vision for igboland comes true, even Nigeria if it still remains one would not dare have a whimper. Btw, 15 million igbos would contibute their qouta and have a place in igboland. In 10 years or so with the kind of military strength i envision, i can assure you, igboland would grow in size both in land area and population . |

Adaure4ever:I understand where you are coming from. You have to understand the reason for the pent up emotions too. Many of them have lost sons, friends and brothers to a biafran struggle. We just need to educate them of the dangers of thinking with their emotions rather than with the head, but we have to be considerate and respectful. Igbo people are not known to be illogical or capable of being brainwashed like some set of people. Sooner or later, logic would prevail. 1 Like |

Abagworo:You on the other hand have never been pro- igbo. You mock the grave of igbo sons slaughtered extra-judicially, deny and to an extent even support a sytemic marginalization and crippling of igbo potential perpetuated by the Nigerian state which has even reached a full crescendo under this buhari administration which unsurprisingly is your best president. Don't compare yourself with other sons and daughters of igboland who genuinely have igbo interests at heart but with a difference of opinions. I don't know who you are and where you hail from. 2 Likes |

joeyfire:I really don't understand this fixation with the SS with all due respect. Strategically, it is a bad play to pitch your tent with a very divisive region like the SS if igbos ever gets independence. The social entropy which is similar to whatever obtains in Nigeria would cripple the new nation before it gets a chance to grow. I would rather for the sake of argument go for an independent igbo -only nation, create a social unity and national patriotism similar to an european nation state which would ensure the new nation is less likely to fail. If access to the sea is the problem, then we can have trade agreement with the SS for the use of her ports. If they refuse, no problem, we would go back and work around it using air as an inetrnational trade for the main time while slowly building an indigenous and strong military with the aim of dominating the entire sub-region, just like china is currently doing while reclaiming historical igbo land and seas with superior and overwhelming air and land power just like china is currently doing . But that is a long term strategic goal and not for the brash and the quick tempered or shortsighted. 2 Likes |

Adaure4ever:I feel very sad when i see threads like this. What is the point of this? IPOB is in no way affliated with nairaland the last time i checked. I am sure they have online forums where you can express your feelings instead of coming here to ridicule yousrelf and other igbo people on nairaland. Look at the set of people hailing you-enemies of ndi-igbo. People who have expressed openly on nairaland about how they would like nothing more than when they see igbo people suffer at the hands of backward Nigerian govt and its operatives. Yes, IPOB or whatever come off as crude, but revolutions and societal changes in history have always been brought about by the crude. You don't expect igbo elites milking off our collective future under one-Nigeria to chart a better course for igbo people. It is not possible. There are better ways to pass your points across than this no-holds barred approach. Yes, you are vocal and brave just like the rest of the igbo you are jostling with on nairaland. Bravery is something that can push you to be incalculative and brash which is something that IPOB currently suffers. It is a side effect of domineering character and attitude igbos are known for and which has helped us bounced back from the civil war total impoverishment. Being educated sons and daughters of igboland, we have to find a common ground between bravery and logic which is not an easy thing to do. There are many things i would like to say on biafra and other SS minorities but this rancorous thread is not the right place. 7 Likes |
