dremide: so you want seaport in south east? How? Even if it's possible, will you force foreign investors to do it when they don't feel like? Put your house in order and investors will come. Tell me one way that the SW kept its house in order that the SE has not with evidence. |

Look at innocent productive people being slaughtered like cockroaches. My God. And the federal government has not seen fit to declare a state of emergency and get these murderers systematically cutting off Nigeria's farming population. And this is the govt some people think will take them and their bigotry to the promised land. Anytime one naijeria is uttered is a mockery to these people. smh. |

Volksfuhrer: Gowon was far from being a "noodle leader." He was arguably the best and noblest military ruler we've ever had in this country. A descent research on this gentleman isn't a bad idea.
In any case, it isn't Gowon's fault that your sense of humour isn't as sharp as it should be.
Kindest regards. If Gowon was your best and noble military leader then no wonder Nigeria is the way it is. Have you read the aburi accord? You need to see how he was schooled in governance by ojukwu. If he was indeed noble he would have atleast accepted the intellectual superiority of ojukwu and entrenched regionalism that he agreed to in ghana. But the coward had to backpedal like an amateur. He should be grateful he had the brits at his side. Men like him don't win wars. If the roles were reversed, ojukwu would have crushed him in a month. |

The level of militancy in ogun state alone is not present in the entire SE, so shut up. |

Deal with your insecurities first, learn from the south west, all struggles does not have to have element of violence! Which part of the SE is insecure, you illiterate. Where have you seen them destroying pipelines like we see in ogun state.? The project was shelved for a reason probably because they had better sites for a seaport. Hide your bigotry under insecurity. Buhari would only be there for 4-8 years. |

hakanai: You will appreciate the port sites and the boost it would get once the rail-lines become active from the North to the SW. Because by then raw materials and finished goods will exchange in tonnes across both region and on to the international.
You have industries largely in Lagos and Ogun also access to international market via the ports. Raw materials and others from the North(Kano) by rail. Finished goods going both ways to the North and West with added value. Dangote i hope you finish your refinary in time too.
I just can't wait ... Even if Naija scatter God willing we can always do business with the SW. Yes, Goodluck with that. That is actually the best outcome which i am sure most in the SE/SS would be happy with finally. But i hope you caution your herdsmen and islamists from encroaching our territory. Any possible enroachment would be met with isreali-like action. |

amagunnerfan: If the pipelines in the ND are been blown up as it is the case now, why do you think Government will trust you people enough to bring development over there?
The problem of ND & SE is lack of accountability. Have you held your governors accountable for their federal allocations? You rather play the victim than take your governors to account. This my brother is the main problem.
It is not as if SW and the north gets way more than you lot or is it? And what development has happened in the north ever since their religious madness, wonder why they are not crying wolf as you lot in the South South and South East?
When you think everyone is your enemy, you can't make friends. Stop been so paranoid and maybe, just maybe things will work.
The South West plays her politics better, learn from there. Sorry, this is complete Bullshit. I know how you lots like to chalk up backward politics to sophistication, but that is what it is, backward politics. Kano state alone gets more funds from the federal government than the entire SE, so maybe you need to get enlightened before spewing inanities. The SE also had the least project allocation in this govt's budget, so yes, there is true to all the tales of marginalization you hate hearing. GEJ could have been vindictive if he wanted to. It does not take anything to be vindictive. He could have cornered all the projects, atleast i know i would have. It is just unfortunate that he didn't. Atleast, it is a lesson for the SS that Nigeria is a dog eat dog world where selfishness is called sophistication, which is actually the height of bitter politics. The next SS/SE endorsed president would be ravenous in its approach without apology. Btw,as you can see these projects are not a product of any ingenious state governnance. It is a federal govt backed initiative. So spare us the my state governor is better than yours BS. It is not true at all. |

goonsmi: Until the people in those areas stop supporting criminality no reasonable and responsible investors will come with their capital to invest in your area.
You can't be destroying the properties of the few investors in your area and expect another investor to consider your area for his investment. How many of your own sons and daughters into importation business is making use of the existing seaports in your area ? What are the reasons why they are running away from the seaports ? The answer is simply because of the destructive activities of your militants and pirates who will rather chase away and frustrate any investor or business on sight .
Gone are the days when government commit their resources on unviable businesses now the government is supporting viable and sustainable investment .
Your fighters should fashion a more reasonable way of agitating for development instead destroying any good things on sight. Most of you are labelling your representatives in the current administration as saboteurs and refused to recognized and make the best use of their current position in government all because your SON who fails to even attract any reasonable development despite been in good governmental positions for good 16years and rose as high as the President for five years plus lost an election.
Until your people start making use of your brains and keep emotions aside the development you crave for will never come. Shut up. The niger-delta was the safest place in the country for decades even before militancy, and yet no federal development even during the military regime. Buhari is not your son, he is a president of fulani origin utilizing niger-delta oil revenues for his bigoted purposes. |
Politics › Re: FEC Approves Seaport For Badagry, Lagos by CSTR12: 8:57am On Aug 04, 2016 |
danie09: it's not an excuse it's a plain and simple reasoning . You don't attract investors by deliberately destroying existing facilities in your region in the name of agitation . When they blow up these investment they are clearly telling the federal government and potential investors they don't need such facilities . But there are barely any agitations or destruction of facilities in akwaibom and even the SE. If agitations is why your FG is not bringing investments to the region, then leave their oil wells for them like they wanted and let them use it for the development of their land when they get a better president. You can't keep exploring their oil and tell us the region is unsafe for other investments. That is injustice and it is unsustainable. Go and extract your oil in the so-called safe places and leave the niger-delta alone. |

ba7man: Aren't You the ones celebrating anything bad that happens, fighting Buhari's govt, celebrating bombings and Millitants killing in the southwest etc................... and you now expect love?
You give hate so you'll attract hate.
It's a basic law of life. Really? So the reason why a progressive govt that wants to succeed would ignore better investment opportunities in other parts of the country because the people there don't like him. Very good. Nigeria's subsequents presidents would not always be supported by everybody. But this politics of winner takes all would never be forgotten. I am sure it is just beginning. I am hopeful though that the niger-delta would begin to leverage on its strength and decide and remove presidents. |

This is your excuse? But companies are building multi-billion dollars oil extraction units there as we speak. I wonder why they have not left. Btw, i hope you know akwaibom is one of the safest places in the country, much safer than Lagos actually. |
Politics › Re: FEC Approves Seaport For Badagry, Lagos by CSTR12: 8:38am On Aug 04, 2016 |
Politics is a game of interests. It is obvious to any SE/SS individual that this govt is not for them. It is no longer a matter of sophistication or patriotism. It is now a game of survival. So what do you then? It is time to leverage on the wealth of the SS, Build Strategic alliances especially in the middle-belt, Pay some parts and leaders of the core north with oil blocs if necessary ,and vote in a govt that is loyal to SS/SE and would do our bidding. That is the politics buhari has introduced. The politics of the winner takes all. And given how poor he actually is, beating him would not be too difficult. We just need to be smart. |
