Foreign AffairsRe: Senegal Gives Jammeh Midnight To Vacate Presidency Seat by cstr55: 9:45pm On Jan 18, 2017
It is one thing for ECOWAS to issue an ultimatum, but for senegal an age-long rival of the gambia to use this vulnerability to carry out their own nationalistic agenda in gambia is something that should be discouraged.
I expect patriotic gambians to frown at any solo senegalese grand-standing that may tip the scale in jammeh's corner.
Jammeh must go, but senegal should leave the grand-standing and ultimatums to ECOWAS and the UN.

How can you claim you never had a boyfriend when no man approached your ugly asses...I will never understand people like this...School is all about building connections and fraternizing...Do you know how many first class holders are in Nigeria...I hope you will go there with your degree and we will see if you get the job.
Excellence gets you the best connections. Being the finest and most popular guy or girl in school will not help you most times.
I already had a job at unilever as a quality control officer in my 400 levels before i got to 500 levels thanks to a consistently outstanding academic performance..
And my fully paid PTDF masters scholarship connection to the Imperial college United kingdom that has changed my life forever came courtesy of my academic excellence.
Btw, i didn't graduate with a 5.0, but i had a 5.0 twice in my 100 and 500 level and ended up graduating as third BGS in a first generation federal university in the south west.
So yes, Academic performance gives you the best connection regardless of what anybody thinks. And it last too, unlike other kind of connections.

Oh shut up and get lost. Who cares about uneducated, ignorant racists on twitter talking rubbish? Where are they when their own govt deliberately slaughters millions of innocent Iraqis based on lies about WMDs, simply to steal their oil? What is more corrupt than THAT?
Comparing a govt who decided to take unscrupulous decisions to safeguard the economic welfare of their own people to your selfish, kleptomaniac govt is just funny and a bit sad.
If Nigeria had a government as patriotic and loyal to Nigerian interests at all cost like the american govt, Nigeria would be first world by now.
Americans don''t care whatever happens in iraq, because it ensure continous supply of oil to the US.
Just like Nigerians did not care, when charles taylor pumped his stolen liberian monies into the Nigerian economy.

A US jet will not encounter such in a US territory. As you can see all the examples and links are stories of US jets bombing foreign lands.
Infact, if you believe the conspiracy theories, the US actually decide to overlook the human casualities in order to take out a deadly terrorist.
Use your brain next time.
A US jet has never accidentally fired on US territory in their entire military history.

Mr man same politics brought us to this very point of humanitarian crisis. It tells you the kind of made in china, blind fighter jets deployed which can't distinguish between a frnd and a foe. The question is, did the drunk pilot sow armed men with turban on their head walking around the IDP CAMP? Or the missile simply lost its bearing and choose to fall on innocent civilians?
lol @ made in china jet.
What else do you expect them to use? Anyway, you are right. The f-7 musuem of a jet was made in china.
Superior jets like the american F-16s is forever out of Nigeria's reach and for good reason.

What nonsense.
The US is the world's only superpower. Even putin attested to that let alone upcoming china that is still battling large-scale poverty. It is actually in their best interests to hold American debts as leverage, if not, they would asked for it by now.
China is growing but they are still far-off. Maybe in the next 100 years.

But on a serious note, Trump's presidency is going to be one of the first American presidencies in recent times where all the US assisted development goals will suffer serious reverses. Imagine how catastrophic it would be to the war on AIDS the scale back of the $5 billion a year the Bush administration instituted for Africa.Trump has never hidden his disdain for we Africans, as far as he is concerned we are inconsequential on the world stage. By 2020, all his IBOB supporter's eye go clear
Really , so america is this critical to africa's progress and yet people like you and your fellow afonjas favour the russians.
Thankfully trump is about to mind his business. Let us see how much russia and china help.
And btw, his foreign policy on secessionists in africa is not clear yet, so maybe you should focus on your failure of a country Nigeria and the fact that it has no future regardless of whatever mr. trump thinks.

Its actually inferiority complex because to them seeing kids from Lagos speaking english fluently, they always have that believe that somehow those children are intelligent. But you know later life it become apparent but most of them can see beyond that.

The igbo society is not doing anything about that and its now turning to a norm.
na dem sabi.
My kids(when i decide to have them) ain't coming anywhere near that country anyway.
The language will live on in my kids and that is enough for me.

calm down!! The way you carry issues very far self. Its quite natural for a person to imbibe the language and culture of the environment he/she grows up in. Doesn't mean his native language is dying. Igbo is still the very much alive. Every child born and bred in igboland speaks fluent Igbo. And I know many born and raised outside Igboland under strict Igbo parents who speak their native tongue just as well.

Igbos are naturally adventurous and mobile and many raise children outside Igboland, who naturally grow up with knowledge of the local language and a smattering of their own native tongues learnt either from their parents or by their own efforts. The result is that many Igbo's are multilingual in Nigerian languages. Infact, you're most likely to find people who can speak virtually the three major languages in Nigeria ONLY AMONG THE IGBOS
The UN disagrees with you, bros. And they have valid reasons for their stand, you don't.

You are talking rubbish....

Polish people, or let me say children of polish, and even Czech people don't speak Czech/Polish (most of them) yet their language is still spoken in Czech and Poland...

Why did I say thishuh

Because as long as Igbo is still spoken in Igbo land, Igbo cannot go extinct.....

Where trouble will start is when in the whole of the SE, NOBODY speaks Igbo Anymore....

As for Igbo children out of Igbo land, what do you expect?
.But the language is gradually been eroded in the homeland.
The schools now see speaking igbo language as a sign of unsophistication and illiteracy, and kids are punished for it. That can never happen in any European country including czech republic. And most European countries, btw, don't speak English as a first language in their schools which is where the next generation is bred.
I know it is a problem of Nigerians to see the big picture, but trust me, it is already happening. The igbo language is dying.

True, igbo Language is dying and i sense it too. Do you know children growing up in igbo land are being punished for speaking igbo at school. Me personally was punished because of same case, that was 15 years back...

The goverment should help control that evil believe creeping in most of all this private school that believe speaking English language properly is proportional to high IQ.. that is wrong, very wrong.
Idiotts that is what they are all.
When you come to europe and America and see how half igbo kids are actually striving to learn the igbo language- a language that they will most likely never need or use, then you will realize how pathetically slow and short-sighted igbo parents and states in Nigeria actually are.
Dumb fuccks.

They don't need no extra effort to teach a language spoken in the house, if you speak it to them, they'll learn it easily.

If anything, English is what you should get them classes for, because it is a much more complex language
There is nothing complex about the English, unless you are going to study english as a course.
The igbo language and indeed most african languages are far complex. Even french and spanish are far complex than the english language.
Anybody can learn the english. That is why it is the most spoken on earth. It is easy to learn .

It's not about prioritizing. Parents should understand that kids will always pick up English since that it what's the language of instruction in schools. There's a need to put in more effort to teach them Igbo because they may not have the opportunity to learn it elsewhere.

Thats how my Aunty never spoke Igbo to her children and today all of them are shy among their own relatives..

Her first daughter married a yorouba, second Edo, the third one, they said that one MUST marry an igbo..
Some parent dont know that stuff like this do hunt their children role in associating with people in later years...

MY children whether am living in china, calgary,Lagos, they must be able to speak igbo at the age of 5.
Even though i marry a non igbo, my children must learn igbo as their first language.
The highlighted is one of the major reasons why the igbo language is dying.
The women are the custodians of the culture everywhere and when the young women are lost enmass to other strange cultures, it can be very dangerous. We are going to see the effect of all these inter-tribal marriages in the next 50 years.
I love inter-tribal marriage, but not at the expense of my beautiful igbo language and culture.

Ur comment on igbo language
I am not wrong na.
The igbo language would be the first to disintegrate. Evey indices points to it. The UN even made a study about it.
Go to lagos and see thousands of igbo children speaking ngbatii-ngbatii. Igbo parents nowadays wants their kids speaking the queen's english like a deranged lunatic and detest any mention of the igbo language in the home.
While igbo single men and women who are increasingly getting to married to other ethnics fail to impress their culture on their kids and so lose their children to the other culture. It is rampant nowadays.
An example that can you relate to is that of peter okoye's kids. The kids attended a cultural day in their school in yoruba agbada while their surname clearly spells okoye.
Everybody shrugged it off like it is nothing, but i know it is a growing phenomenon that can be very dangerous. It is a subtle psychological attack on igbo consciousness.
It is a shame, i know , but it is the truth. And i love the truth.
