However, I have the view that we need to balance our spending and divert a little more to improving the capabilities of the Army.
The airforce may strike the bandits and terrorists, but until the army is equipped to win on the battlefield, the enemy will always repossess the territory and our farms and mining areas will remain unsafe for productive activity.

The average Nigerian army squad is still equipped principally at the same level as the bandits and terrorists, basically with AK 47s and very minimal light machine guns.

We need to significantly boost the shock power of the Army at the squad level by improving the supply of
- Grenades
- Machine Guns
- Light Grenade launchers (like the M79, not RPGs, the bandits are rarely motorised)
- Improved communication
- Improved mobility

And these can be achieved at a fraction of what we have spent on the Airforce in the last few years.

Given the modern threats we face, the bulk of Nigeria's military spending should be focused on the airforce.
Fighter jets, attack helicopters, and highly precise drones and missiles.

Our region is a very dangerous region with all kind of foreign powers coming to play here.
It is airpower that will counter them, and not land forces.

But yes, we need to also equip the Army significantly and all those things you listed can be done while giving the airforce the priority it deserves.
