My friend sent Iphone 5 with the icloud details and i have done reset and i have changed to my details and he said it is unlocked already but i have inserted my MTN and even the 9mobile. The response i get is the "sim not supported". However, the network bars still shows. I did network reset and it indicated "Unlocked" at completion. what could be wrong? Thanks

the phone is locked to a network. But I will suggest u do a paid check to be sure and also know the network it’s locked to. Probably he has paid the phone off and forgot to ask the network provider to unlock it before sending it. Alternatively u can buy chip for 3k and do world wide unlock.

Thank you so much.. Have noticed that it's when the mobile data is on either 3G or 2g that's when it get very hot and keeps showing temperature hot allow to cool down... The phone behaves well when I use wifi and it doesn't get hot at all.... Am confused fight now

okay I think u should try another network probably the sim in the phone the network reception is not that strong. And again Update ur os if u have not so we will know software is not a problem. And finally go to ur settings, battery and then battery health and check the percentage that it’s showing

Is u that is confusing urself, chip unlock means u will use chip with ur sim for the phone while worldwide unlock will use chips to unlock initiallly so that u can use any sim without the chip on in the phone.

yes it’s the same. check my attached image. Reset and erase iPhone. If u have done it and it’s still the same. Only 2 options is remaining that’s bad battery or hardware issue. The good news is that it’s fixable

this might happen due to a number of reasons including bad third party apps, iOS glitch, exposure to direct heat or sunlight, bad charging port, broken battery, or some unknown motherboard issue. I will suggest u try this bring a cold pure water( not too cold oh) place the phone on top of the water without the case then power the phone on and plug it to charge or plug it to ur laptop and do a backup. The water will not allow the phone to overheat while u do that after the backup I will suggest u wipe the phone clean and then set it up again as new phone after remove it from the pure water then check if the phone is still over heating and if it is then it’s hardware issue. But if DONT want this stress u can just look for an engineer and give it to.

u are getting download failed because u are using iTunes and once there is timeout from the network the download will fail and when u resume it will start from beginning again. So the best is to download the ipsw file wi H idm and then copy it to ur iTunes folder and update. I will like to know the iOS u were running before the phone got into the loop
