Ignorant people everywhere writing what they know nothing about. The UK system is so organized that except you go beyond your means, you will always have enough to save after expenses.

An average salary in UK is £1500 and with about £1k you will live a life many Nigerians dream of.

£400 for accommodation which includes Electricity bill 24/7 supply...high speed 5G uninterrupted access to the internet with full video streaming 24/7....Gas bill...water and council tax even if you have to share some amenities

£300 for feeding and i mean feeding like a prince.

£180 for transportation if you go out often.

£120 for miscellaneous.

You will still be left with £500 savings which is about 400k in naira.


If you now have a spouse and you want to live in a bigger apartment you can do that and because they usually share bills in UK you will still be left with good savings each month except you do pass yourself and of course many people earn more than £1500 after tax.

Right now I don’t even know what to think anymore.

My girlfriend of 2 years just got back from Ukraine after her master’s degree program and since then, she’s been frequently coming to stay with me since I’ve been on land and working from my office.

Last week, I was billed to go to our Portharcourt office because our vessel berthed there. So immediately I got the mail, I decided to quickly dash home, pick a few things I’d be needing and then move. So it happened that the electric current in the neighborhood was relatively low and couldn’t pump water and my generator isn’t in good shape. So she made arrangements for a generating set to pump water( she told me over the phone).

When I got home, I decided to park outside the gate since I was moving almost immediately. On entering the gate, I saw her and a certain boy carrying the generator to return cos the tank was already filled (she said she called the guy to help with the gen. They know each other before she traveled out).

So I just greeted them casually and they put the gem in my car and went to return it. So I decided to have a quick bath before embarking on my journey. To my greatest surprise, I saw a used condom wrapper in the bathroom. At that point, my whole body system changed and I couldn’t even bathe again. I just wore my clothes, and waited for her to return with my car so I could move. Not long after, she came back and I just told her to call me and explain what’s in the bathroom then I zoomed off.
She claims she doesn’t know anything about the condom, then later told me it was the guy that came with his girlfriend.

I’ve not picked her calls since then cos I don’t even know what to think anymore.
Please I need advice guys. I’ve not been home since last week cos I’m so disappointed in her.
A part of me wants to forgive her, but I’m being skeptical.

They share the rent 200k x 5 = 1m..

Each of them earn 2.8m per month. SO 2.8M - 100K FOR RENT and thy still have 2.7m..

Now is she pays 200k a month for rent, x 12, that is 2.4m a year..

why are you deceiving people. 3000 pounds in london is peanut and slave driving. Ask whether she is happy doing the job. You compare a professor in Nigeria who works probably 20 hours in a month, living in his own house, jetting all over the world with a bus driver who works 200 hours to make 3k pounds. Where almost 70 percent goes to rent and bills.

Not really a good anaylsis, as it doesn't consider cost of living.

If that Professor were to be in University of Ibadan (Ibadan being a cheap town), he might be able to save more at the end of every month than the guy earning GBP3000 in London.

Let me add additional perspective for you. I live in Houston and let me give you a run down of bills, some of which don't exist (or are significantly lower) in Nigeria:

Rent (3bed) $1,850 a month (N1.036mln) equivalent in Ibadan is like $178 a month (N1.2mln a year)
Auto Insurance $108 a month (N60k)
Electricity $120 (N67k)
Water $70 (N39k)
Gas $50 (N28k)
Homeowners Insurance $60 (N33k)
Flood Insurance $60 (N33k)
Home Warranty $60 (N33k)

your have a good taste.
As I can see you're living in a upscale (maybe exclusive white) neighbourhood..

I assume these expensive list was a free choice you made and ready to foot.
I want to assume there are other cheaper options at your disposal..

Medical consultants earn 300k-400k monthly in 9ja.

Professors earn 400k-500k monthly in 9ja.

Bus driver earn £3,000 (2.8m) monthly in London..
