Congrats TenaciousOrphan: My Visa Interview Transcripts (Caveat Long Read) Sorry for posting it now, I wanted to see how my visa looks like first. Accept my apology.
I started applying to schools since 2019 but I promised myself that I won’t go to the embassy until I get full funding. I have been making application mistakes since that time until I discovered what I was doing wrong. So I applied in 2019, 2021 but was not successful. In 2022 applications I applied to 11 Schools and got 5 Fully Funded PhD Admissions. My Interview Profile and Transcripts is below: NB: This white VO on earpiece was denying plenty people, so I was always pretending to use the toilet. 3 times I left the queue but was still sent back by the CGI official. Profile: School: Florida State University Program: PhD in Sociology Funding: Fully Funded ($52, 211) Interview Location: Lagos Interview Date: July 7th 2023. Interviewed by: The dreaded VO on earpiece. First Time. Status: Visa Approved VO: He signal me to come forward. Me: Good Morning but he didn’t respond. VO: Where do you work and what do you currently do? Me: I work at xyz University as a Research and Administrative Assistant and my duties includes…VO cuts in VO: Are you married? Me: Yes, with a son. VO: Why are you applying alone without your family? Me: My wife is currently busy at her work place and her annual leave was not granted. VO: So are you saying you will be staying in the US for 5 to 6years without your family? It is better you guys go together for this period of your study, are you processing hers already? -set up question 1. Me: My wife wanted to accompany me to settle down and return to resume her work but her annual leave was not approved…..because she’s currently very busy in her place of work. VO: So you mean they will never come to the US throughout your program? Me: She will visit when she is free at her work place. She also needs to develop her career too as I am doing mine. I will also be visiting when I have the time. VO. Since you are going for a PhD, will it not make sense to get a job in the US after your graduation? Because you will earn more money in the US and so many universities will be looking for your service. - set up question 2. Me: That will not be possible because I am signing a bond with my University in Nigeria and if I disappoint on that bond, they will report me to all the universities in Nigeria and the school I am attending in the US. And this will seriously affect my career. So even though it would have been better it’s not possible. VO: Where do you work again and what do you do? Me: I work as a Research and Administrative Assistant at XYZ university. At this point he checked my Linked profile and search google to confirm. I saw his computer reflection in his glass window. VO: How many schools did you apply to? Me: 11 schools and 5 gave me fully funded PhD admissions VO: I will be approving your visa. Me: Thank you and I did not hear any other thing he said. I just left the hall very fast. Though I later came back because the applicant before me mistakenly packed my documents.
I left the embassy after giving out some free Will gifts to the few beggars I saw on the way. When I got to my hotel I started playing a song by Edna Ogholi titled: ‘Okeoghene Omai woma’ in my language; which when translated means “God time is the best” and shared tears of joy. Thanks a million to those who have contributed to my success in this Journey. Especially Mr Firebreeze (a candle loses nothing by lighting another), Fairheart, Faith-my sister that got her Visa at the 11th time of asking amongst others. I am honored. |

Stellopy: US Embassy First attempt 4F2 14/06/2023 Status: Approved✅ ABUJA Black American lady
Getting a hotel to lodge was hectic due to NASS inauguration yesterday, as all places seemed booked out but we were able to get one after a lot of stress.
My kids and I did all the preliminary screenings, and we headed for the biometrics. Followed is the interview proper.
VO: Have you travelled out of the country before? Me: No, I have not had any reason to.
VO: Will you be staying or visiting your husband? Me: We will be visiting my husband who is currently doing his Phd at Texas A& M University, Department of Marine and Coastal Sciences... she cut in
VO: How long will you be staying? Me: 4weeks, we will be spending my annual leave to reunite with my husband as a family and avail him the opportunity to meet our last baby who I gave birth to exactly 19days after he left for the States. He will be able to bond with her since this will be the first time they will be seeing each other (meanwhile she was busy typing all through)
VO: When did you get married? Me: We got married 7years 8months ago, 31st Oct 2015
VO: What do you do? Me: I work as a Credit Area Manager at First City Monument Bank where I earned a monthly income of Bleep and annual income of Bleep... she cut in
VO: Can I see your marriage certificate Me: presented it to her.
She was silent, busy typing... Me: Can I tell you my job roles? VO: No VO: How long have you been working at your place of work? Me: Over 5years
VO: How long is your husband's program? Me: 5 years, he just rounded off a year and has 4years left.
VO: Who will be funding your deficits? Me: My husband and I will be covering the deficits from our savings and returns from our landed properties in Lagos and Abeokuta which generate an annual income of Bleep for the family. Since my husband is fully funded, we have a savings set aside for the purpose.
She went mute again, but this time passes the white paper to me.
I said thank you, and as we walked out of the hall, my boys were making drama exclaiming "yes, yes, we are going to see our Daddy" to the admiration of people around.
I want to thank y'all, @assurance the mock group, Tboy, Dr Dammy, Olanrewaju Ayoade and VO Coker. May God bless you all.
To all expecting their turns, pls remain confident and be prayerful.
*God did it.* Please I need to be added to the mock group 08151443718. My interview is this month... Thanks |

Dangote should stop deceiveing himself and tell us the fact. His Grandfather is stinkinly rich, there family is very rich. Some youths of Nigeria are from poor family and they are trying to meet up with life. Dangote did his masters in UK. How many youths have been to airport talk more of travelling. His Grandfather gave him five hunderd thousand naira in 1976, back then our currency was more valued. He had political favours most especially from OBJ. He even tried to frustrate Ibeto's life when OBJ was on sit. Plus many other tins that he did... |

ZACHIE: Except perhaps in a few old generation churches, it is hard to hear any pastor talk about hellfire, lately. is it that the topic is no longer true, or it is not contemporaneous? If they don't preach then u should preach about it coz the word of God is not ment to be preached by some people. |

Music/Radio › Re: Nigeria’s Top Romantic Songs Of All Time by Current27(m): 7:21pm On Feb 11, 2013 |
ijebabe: Its a new month and a week to Valentine’s Day! There is something sweet and dreadful about this day because you are excited to make this one day uniquely special while stressing at the same time between what is ‘just enough’ and ‘embarrassingly outrageous’ display of your true feelings.
Very soon radio stations all over will drown our senses in love songs of old and new. While I have no problems with this, it can get annoying. Not because of the high expectations from people in relationships – you know what I mean hehehe – but how over-hyped it is that it tends to lose its value. Just the way Christmas and Easter have been so commercialised that I no longer see them as spirituality significant, but another holiday.
I don’t mean to generalise but it seems to me that true romance is dead in most cases. A Naija girl will suddenly become friendly with that guy that has been chasing her for months just so she can get gifts from him to show off to her friends. Or a guy would use this a ploy to get into the pants of that girl that has been turning him down. Una know yaself!
What happened to the days when honest romantic gestures were valued. That letter and mixtape that he worked on weeks in advance to show you how he feels or wanting to enjoy his company, the feel of his lips on yours wearing that colour, outfit or perfume you know will drive him crazy. Cheesy right? Lol! But you get my point.
I was thinking about it and was going through my playlist when I realised I didn't have Nigerian songs on there. I tried to come up with a good list and found it difficult to come up with 10 songs. Can you imagine that! What do Nigerians listen to when they what to 'get it on'?
With help from friends this is the list I came up with.
