Amedino99: No. The world is yet to get over Morocco's stunning performance at the last WC so I guess the Americans are banking on taking advantage of their marketability to lure sponsors. But I would have advised them to wait for the AFCON to end and then invite the reigning champions of Africa. I guess they rate the WC semifinals higher than the AFCON trophy. 1 Like |

Mujtahida: Lol. Nigerians love showmanship die. Iwobi understood this in his early days in the SE. I remember one match against Algeria in Uyo. Iwobi did an Okocha-style rainbow flick over an Algerian player and the crowd went absolutely wild!. I'm sure that flick probably got discussed more than the goals that were scored that day in the days that followed. The Iwobi of nowadays has grown more mature though. All passes, no more flicks. 15 Likes 4 Shares |

But I wonder why Peseiro couldn't get us an extra creative midfielder. There is no way you will scout the entire NPFL and won't find a decent CM/AM who can at least do the basics. Just someone who can beat the press, make decently accurate passes and one in a while take a crack at goal. It's not like the other African teams are fielding world-class midfielders anyway. 2 Likes |

If Iwobi mistakenly get injury eh, na then wey all of una go respect am. Iwobi is the most important player in that team as far as I'm concerned. The only irreplaceable player. If Osimhen gets injured, Moffi and Iheanacho dey. If Iwobi gets injured, we better just pack our bags because he is the only creative midfielder in the entire bloody team. 15 Likes 3 Shares |

bisqit: Lol. Joke aside though, it's amazing how that guy managed to have a poor career after that AFCON. Even though he couldn't get a deal to a top team, one would expect that his talent would take him up there eventually. Surprisingly, Baba never made it past Bastia. One explanation is that Mba almost certainly was playing on "football age" (I remember he was already balding in 2013). But even if he was in his late twenties, he should have had at least three to four years at the top. 5 Likes 1 Share |

Amedino99: Lol. Iwobi's shooting is really subpar and I think this is what has prevented him from staying long at the top (Arsenal). But Iwobi is really great at taking good low one-touch shots inside the box which is difficult for goalkeepers to save. Check his goal against Zambia to take us to the 2018 WC. But if you're expecting him to fire accurate rockets with pace and placement from outside the box, you're on a long thing. Which is why I think he is better as a CM than an AM. 1 Like |

It seems we have been sleeping on the football rivalry between the North African countries. Go to the Morocco /SA highlights video on YouTube and see Algerians celebrating like crazy. One of them said he will congratulate the Southies for 50 years nonstop๐๐๐. If not for language barrier, footballing banter with North Africans for sweet die. Those guys are very humorous and passionate with their bantering. 1 Like 1 Share |

Please let Peseiro change his formation. The 4-3-3 is much more balanced and productive in terms of chances created. If he must go with three at the back, let him play 3-5-2 with Iwobi at AM and Osimhen and a strike partner in front. The 3-4-3 leaves a wide gaping hole in the center of our midfield which Guinea Bissau exploited at the beginning of the last match to dominate possession. We cannot afford to abandon possession to a team that actually knows what to do with the ball. Ire o! 10 Likes 2 Shares |

I hope Peseiro knows that if he benches Osimhen, nobody will die? I mean, why keep striker who is clearly off form when you have Moffi on the bench? Ever since Osimhen became our main striker, to score goals became a major problem for us. In Rohr's era, with all their rubbish football, Ighalo still managed to score whenever we needed him, sometimes creating chances out of nothing sef. Now we have an APOTY and we can't score Guinea Bissau's second team. |

Peseiro needs to switch to 433 for the Lord's sake. Enough of this drab nonsense. Remove Ajayi with his yellow card and play Bassey and Omeruo at CB. 3 Likes 1 Share |

I really would have loved a repeat of the 433. We created loads of chances with that formation and would have won if not for wastefulness. The 343 seems to give us less chances going forward. |

Peseiro is just Rohr's identical twin tactically. When playing "weaker" opposition, both men use 433 and play offensively with long passes from the center-backs used to locate the forwards and a generally positive approach. Against "stronger" opposition, Rohr and Peseiro alike adopt a 3-4-3 formation with a pragmatic approach based on the "sit back and hit on the break" doctrine. Neither manager has shown any willingness or ability to solve our midfielders' cohesion and passing deficiencies, choosing to bypass the midfield with the long balls instead. In replacing Rohr with Peseiro, the NFF only sold their monkey to buy a dog๐คท. 1 Like |
