Betnomore: 24v system I'm willing to get bi-facial jinko panels and also hybrid inverter. I can still do like 700k I need a setup that will charge my battery well and also supply light during the day well without consuming much of my battery. Only things connected to my setup are light bulbs, 3 ceiling fans and 2 standing fans, 2 TV, one game console I have a 1.5kw 24v Welion hyrbid inverter unboxed going for cheap. I think it's suitable for your load in this condition and you won't have to buy an external charge controller. Indicate if you're interested. |

osayuwamwen: Can i power a submersible pump of 1.5hpower with this 24v inverter and two of this 12v battery I screenshot bellow ? If yes I already have 2 400watt panel how many 400watt panel am I adding to the two I have installed before? Instead of pairing the below battery at almost 1m with less efficiency, why not go for Mrreed's 8.2kwh 24v at 900k? |

Greenodds: Thanks. So you are saying like 1.5m will run it? If you have 1.5m and can step it up a little to 1.8m, then go for 24v. Haisic hybrid inverter 24v 4.2kva 350k ish 24v 7 or 8kwh frm Mrreed here 800-900k ish 4 units of 550w Jinko solar panels 400k ish Installation plus materials 150k ish |

Greenodds: Thanks for the explanation. Since my post I have done small research. I don't think a 24v system will be able to carry a 1hp AC. A big TV and small appliances like a few white bulbs and 2 small 50W standing fans. My budget is 1M. Don't know if it'll be enough to include quality panels like jinko, and batteries like felicity etc 1m is not small, but it can only get you a 12v system, and you're wrong, 24v, even 12v can power your pumping machine without stress. 12v Haisic inverter---200k ish 12v Haisic 4kwh lithium battery---450k ish 2 550 watts Jinko Solar Panels---200k ish Installation + materials, depends on where you're sourcing plus installer---150k ish I won't be the one to tell you about the brand of battery you mentioned but I am not sure you really did a good enough research hehehe. |

Btw, for I have a unit of the itel power tank, and I got roughly 800wh from it powering aei sized inverter chest freezer, TV, fan and lights.
It charges very fast too on grid. Starts with 500w and drops to around 200w when it gets to 80% Thanks for your feedback. Where I am planning to put this, grid has been non-existent for more than a decade. I hope the PV can charge effectively during day time hours. |

Guys please I need recommendations on Solar panel to buy to power the Itel 500w, 1kwh power tank. It is rated for 400w panels, however the only available jinko panels are Bifacial 550w and above. Is it safe to use this?
Heard Cworth 500w panels are overrated 370w, how true is this?
What other reliable options are available? |

Satellite TV Technology › Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by CuteMaro(m): 11:36am On Jan 02 |
Charging 2m for a 1.6m battery is nothing but outright greed and should be called out, no mincing words. You want to profit more than the builder for being a middle man, while still charging premium for your services. That is gutter behaviour and I'll never support it.
Trippledots better do right by your name else this stuff will stick with you as long as this forum exists.
As for complainant, sorry about the situation, please next time do due diligence and ask questions here before making final decisions. Mrreed's battery are great and will serve you very well. Whatever the outcome of this situation will be, next time please be more careful. Sharks everywhere! |

I have come to observe on 2 occasions that the automatic switch from Grid to inverter that usually happens in milliseconds had some significant delays, nearly a minute after power went off. This is unusual, is this a normal behaviour?
Important point to note is that on such occasion, there is usually a sharp voltage difference between Grid and Inverter.
What could be the cause? |

Tdoctor: Please house, I need a fast answer on this. Is wood safe for a 48v 15kwh lithium battery enclosure? I'm planning to use HDF wood. Any one with experience? MrReed, Valto, Dam5reey, Bassdow, Everyone? If going DIY, as long as you know what you're doing you have nothing to worry about. But if you don't know what you're doing, do well to gather enough info from platforms like youtube, tiktok, e.t.c to avoid mistakes. As for whether wooden boxes are ok, yes they're totally fine and you have nothing to worry about actually. But make sure to pack cells tight and compact as it is what is recommended to reduce early bulging. As for ventilation, leaving holes for vents is subjective as professional packs don't. But make sure to keep your build in a ventilated/aerated space for temperature control. |

I have seen some recent cases of fire from Lithium batteries, and this has somewhat given me some concern. Maybe experienced people and builders in the house can educate us on how to prevent something like this and what to do in case of one. I believe this will go a long way for us. For instance;
My wires and protection are well sized based on recommendation.
My charging speed doesn't exceed 40 amps, in fact most times I am charging at 30 amps as my system is grid only.
My unit is in a well aerated space. Like super aerated and no heat whatsoever.
My bms is rated at 150 amps, highest I have discharged at a go is 120amps.
I am always monitoring my system and so far it's been bliss.
I don't have a fire ball or fire extinguisher yet, will be ordering one next week. How else can one protect themselves from a case of fire incident? |

bigrovar: Major Upgrade to My Solar Setup (20kW Hybrid System)
I just wrapped up a big upgrade to my solar system. It’s now a 20kW hybrid solar setup — built mainly on traditional off-grid components, but I also added some grid-tie functionality using Deye Micro Inverters in AC-coupled mode.
This project has been in the works for over a year, and there’s a lot going on under the hood beyond just the specs:
IoT & Control: Built a custom system computer using a Raspberry Pi 4 Compute Module running Venus OS + Node-RED.
Smart Automation: Created several Node-RED flows to keep the system efficient. One cool one uses the Solcast weather forecast to predict tomorrow’s solar yield and automatically decide whether to allow grid input — and how much.
Monitoring & Dashboard: I switched to Grafana for visualization. The new dashboard gives a detailed view of performance and energy data.
I’m working on a detailed overview (with schematics) to explain how everything is connected. Hopefully, it will inspire anyone looking to build or upgrade their own setup.
👉 Live Dashboard: https://helio.openculture.org.ng/public-dashboards/867d6afd562543508eaf080533e7b652 Very Impressive. Is this for industrial or home use? |

Edrizz: Wow, so in a modern day physics, dull surfaces now reflect light, hehehe n please help highlight my hate word or sentences on bifacial panels in d comment u quoted boss... i just hope it's not that u are trying to protect ur pot of soup Senior man All surfaces reflect light, all. Some more than others. The degree of reflection has to do with the material, angle and colour of such surface. People with real world use are telling you that there is more advantage to using bifacial, even while mounted on a roof. I have seen Dam5rey's test, the other person also mentioned about 10% more yield than rated capacity from his own experience. The correct thing should be you doing your own research instead of holding onto an opinion based on belief and no empirical facts. This post is for you and bassdow. Normally bassdow has a personal vendetta against newer technologies lol |

FreeStuffsNG: Anyone leading Nepal is doing them a big favor. It's like being the President of Afghanistan or Yemen. Dry and almost barren land full of mountains and valleys and millions of very poor people.
The man has nothing to lose by resigning. He's leading a very poor country and it's like working against gravity. Sometimes, I wonder if they even have government or wealthy citizens. They are in Nigeria doing menial jobs but are very friendly and polite.
Despite claiming to be a sovereign nation, there's a section of their people whose forebears and living descendants signed up their life to fight and die for Britain whenever there's a war.
In USA, their President is a convicted felon yet nobody's calling for his sack neither is he planning to resign from such lucrative post.
Smh.
Migrate to Yemen and Afghanistan nah. You have greener pasture of opium fields waiting.
Many of you are ignorant of why those countries are strategic and do not know that it didn't start today.
I know that many of you prefer social media gbosgbas than to actually read. If you can, please go pick up the book " "The Silk Roads: A New History of the World" by Peter Frankopan and read You are a very biased person. Despite all these negatives you have mentioned against Nepal; The minimum wage in Nepal is N209,000 I unit of their currency equals N10 The insecurity in Nigeria is at an all time high. Nigeria has millions of poor people too despite being so blessed. Isn't it an irony, that your blessed country have no bragging rights against the so-called poor Nepal? Isn't it a shame that despite all these you still blindly support bad governance? |

Hotdiamond: Thank you. What you suggested is cool. My budget limited at the moment. 1.3M max Your budget is very close, however you might need to step it up a little bit. You can go for the Haisic all in one 4.2kva and 8kwh battery at 1.250m, then get like 6 pieces of 620w panels. Think your budget for this should be around 2m in total. This can and will serve you because there is no way you're running your loads 24/7. Optionally, you can go for say a 3.5kva 24v hybrid inverter and get mrreeds 7kwh battery, this should be slightly cheaper. At the end of the day it's all about load management. You can also get lesser options if you do your research well but on a good load management the above should be enough take you off grid at the moment. If you want future proof which is the best option, then hold on, step up ur budget and go all out for a 48v system. |

ask4bk: Some months back i got 280ah 24v (7.2kw) from mrreed at 850 k... That's cheaper than the fake 300ah that is 280ah from haisic. Only from Valto will same 280ah be costlier than haisic, coz i think his gets to around 1.2 m or so. But that's with a better bms, screen and build over the jbd bms in the haisic. Mrreed still uses same elements (maybe different brand of cells) as Valto but he's still far cheaper, but that's only if he has cells 😢 unlike Valto who always have stock. Yes you're right. I also got 8.1kwh from mrreed at 920k. All I am saying is at entry level for someone looking for brands, Haisic is a fair deal considering the price for 280ah. |

It's good that people are being called out on things like this. This way they will eventually get to change their views. I think you're also guilty by assuming he is from the West lol. Whether we like it or not, in Nigeria, growing up there are some stereotypes ascribed to each and every region. It takes education, traveling and experience to beat. |
