Gernot Rohr is the primary culprit here. He didn't do his home work well. Baxter had his assistants watch our previous games against Corsica and Togo and even inspected the state of the pitch before his boys landed Uyo. How can you play 4-1-4-1 (a formation as alien to Nigeria as due process) with Iheanacho as lone striker and expect to defeat a cautious, fast and calculating S.A side? Intensity was zero, not a single shot on target for 94 mins and u couldn't make tactical changes? I jst hope this is not what we are in for under Rohr's adminstration.

Eagles stars, Ahmed Musa and Shehu Abdullahi have insisted on observing the Muslim Ramadan fast for the upcoming AFCON qualifier against South Africa despite pleas by coach Gernot Rohr they should at least defer it.

Alhassan Ibrahim ‘Muazzam’ and fresh call-up Moroof Youssef of Zamalek are the other players on the 23-man squad who will insist on the Ramadan fast.
A team official specially informed that Musa and Shehu fasted during the friendly against Togo in Paris and an unhappy Rohr hauled them off after the first half.
Interestingly, Musa still scored twice within the first 17 minutes to give the Eagles a healthy lead.
Both players are expected to start against South Africa on June 10 in Uyo, but they may well have limited game time because Rohr does not expect them to give their best as a result of the fast.

Three things Ernesto valverde's got going for him as he lands the biggest managerial job in the world:
1. He is a former barca player. That puts him in favour with the fans.
2. He is a not-too-big personality. The personalities of MSN is already larger than life. The clash of ego would be disastrous for the club.
3. He's proven himself before albeit in smaller jobs with Olympiakos, Valencia and most recently Athletic Bibao.

Verdict: If he can fill the all too important position of right back and get a successor for iniesta preferably Coutinho, he shld be off to a smooth ride. Fingers crossed. Patiently optimistic. Viva Barca!

This game made me respect Mourinho for the tactical genius that he is. No coach in the world analyzes his opponent n come up with the perfect game plan like he does. Rock solid defence, adept midfield, smart attack...it's amazing how he's transformed man u over-night into a team with purpose. Big congratulations to all man U fans on a trophy well deserved.
