Nigeria's problem is structural and stems from issues we are don't want to confront related to how very different we are and how those differences can become a strength if we accept and define them instead of glossing over issues with 'one Nigeria' self-deceit.

You said Obi and Jonathan outrightly objected to state policing as the solution. They are right i must confess and also say you are probably just opposing them only to score a political point while buying the man currently there valuable time.

How will state policing solve insecurity? Those place where insecurity have become a normal thing have many divide. There is the political divide. The tribal one. The religious one. The community division. Example of community division is the case of Kolmani oil discovery under Buhari. Suddenly two sides emerged from Gombe and Bauchi state and there was a tussle. The preceeding example is proof that there will always be conflict and once there is conflict of personal interest within states, they will resort to state police in an attempt at subduing one another.
How will state police help the intolerance thats already wiping out Christian minorities?
What about muslim sects that are in minority?

How will state police take away the monopoly to violence by one ethnic group as we are seeing?

How will state policing stop the manipulation of elections?

The only thing state policing can reduce is influx of criminal elements from other places. The idea of state of origin has already preprogrammed Nigerians to detect who is an insider and who is not so it is a matter of rejection for incoming criminal elements.

You can educate me on how state police will solve our insecurity problems because i see almost none.

Yes Tinubu criticised GEJ but it is all politics. In real terms, and related to addressing the fundamental problems of Nigeria, Tinubu has done far better than GEJ.

No decent Nigerian will be happy at the level of insecurity in Nigeria today but the problem is very complex and I believe Tinubu is doing well given the reality of our challenges.

The solution is to create State or regional policing asap which I believe this President will achieve. Once Stated and region have the capacity to define their own security solutions then they can be as modernly efficient as the best in the world or as backwards as the worst.
