House, please what is the implication if my nominated occupation requires a qualification assessed as comparable to the educational level of an Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF) Diploma, but then my Nigerian Bachelors Degree was judged to be comparable to an Australian Bachelors Degree? Hope no biggie...

Those who already got their PR are in a better position to answer this. But I don't think so, if you're applying under subclass 189. If applying under subclass 190/489 (state/regional nomination) however, some states require evidence of financial capacity / net assets before nominating you. Northern Territory for example require AU$ 35,000 net assets for individual applicant, it is higher for applicants with dependants. Some other states like ACT don't specify the amount, but they want to know your financial capacity.

At the time of assessment, you don't need to show evidence of financial capacity. What is your assessing body?

Yes boss. It is mentioned in their guidelines. You can also upload a COLOURED SCANNED COPY OF THE ORIGINAL TRANSCRIPT & CERTIFICATE if you have it at the time of lodging your application, while arranging for the school to send the CERTIFIED TRUE COPIES.

Ensure that your school indicate your application reference number on the cover letter accompanying the transcript and certificate, so that they can easily match the package with your file. It will be better if your school can send both transcript and certificate together...

VETASSESS don't ask for career episode, but they require STATEMENT OF SERVICE / EMPLOYMENT REFERENCE or STATUTORY DECLARATION if you can't get the former. Other documents include:
EVIDENCE OF PAID EMPLOYMENT (2 or more Payslips or Bank Statement),
DEGREE CERTIFICATE & TRANSCRIPT (Certified copies and must be sent DIRECTLY from the awarding institution if from Nigeria),
INTERNATIONAL PASSPORT BIO PAGE or BIRTH CERTIFICATE,
PASSOPRT-SIZED PHOTOGRAPH,
and CV.

What's your nominated profession? Please confirm if your assessing body is VETASSESS first.

bossladyMo: @cyph8, dont do the pcc now, cos it is valid for a year and you cant enter Aus after it expires...same with medicals. Your initial entry date is mostly calculated on the expiry date of your pcc or medicals, whichever comes earlier. Wait till you lodge, and are uploading documents before you get it...so you can extend the validity. Some people even wait till the co requests for it, which is most times along with medicals. You dont need to authenticate police character report. All the co needs is the original copy uploaded, not certified/notarised/authenticated.

Hello House, please does the police character certificate required for Oz PR have a validity date? I'm expecting my IELTS results and assessment result this week, so I should apply for EOI in July, and the proper PR application in 2-3 months time hopefully.

I'm in Nigeria presently, so I'd like to know if it's okay to get the police character certificate now. Plus, do I need to authenticate it at the ministry of foreign affairs?

I doubt if the MOE will do that. I got my transcript the hard way as the same applies to my school. Try making them see why you need it since they can't furnish you with your certificate yet. Otherwise you may have to 'do what you gotta do' to get what you need.

Yes, the Ministry of Education and Foreign Affairs will attest your statement of result. But like Optimistic said, you have to go with your transcript. It may cost you extra since you will have to attest the transcript as well. I did the same in May.

You may also be wondering if statement of result will be accepted by the UAE Labour Ministry; I had the same doubts. The answer is YES! I used my statement of result to process my employment visa when I got here.

Good job the poster is doing here. To all those criticising the poster and the place he calls home for now, he's only looking out for his fellow Nigerians.

If only others who have found good fortune abroad share their experiences and provide invaluable information that others can benefit from, then maybe Nigerians can will be doing much better abroad. For example, in Dubai, the Indians run most companies here. This didn't happen in one day, it's because when they got here (long ago when Dubai was only a desert and nothing more), they recognised the opportunities here and did exactly the same thing the poster is doing now (sharing information on what they've found)...

Anyways for what it's worth, Azerbaijan was one of the places on my mind for my Masters, along with other seemingly 'unventured' places like Albania, Belize, West Indies etc. cos I wanted to go somewhere I can see grow as I do too, somewhere I can give to as much as I am given. So I was well familiar about the country unlike some people here have claimed. And now I am glad someone is talking about there, as I will soon be rounding up my studies. This means I am already looking at the next destination for me. Don't get me wrong Dubai is a wonderful city especially for a budding architect, however I may have to move on once I get what brought me here.

Guys be wise when choosing where to go. Because the name doesn't make 'your' news doesn't make it any less promising than Canada or Australia! Go to a place that you know you're ready for and not somewhere you think is ready for you.

I was able to go back to custom firmware without the pandora battery I wanted to buy from you earlier. I just used Hellcat's Recovery Flasher.

I want to know, after installing custom firmware, is there any further configuration required?
I was able to go to the m33 config menu by holding R while I powered my PSP. But I don't know what to do after that.

It's happened again, those of you using PSP 3000 can smile again as there's a way out for you.
Davee just created the chickHEN (Homebrew enabler) for you to enjoy.

Intro : Hi in this guide I will show you how to enable your PSP3000 to play homebrew games / applications / emulators. Please note this will work on any PSP SLIM

1. First of all get the file from,

unzip the files and click on the folder.

2. Connect your psp to the usb. Take note what drive your PSP maps to. now go back to the folder where the files are downloaded and click on go.bat, enter the drive letter of the PSP and then follow the prompts. The batch file will copy all the required files in to the right locations.

3. Your PSP needs to be running PSP Firmware 5.03, to verify what firmware version you are running go to the settings menu on ur PSP (The left most menu) then scroll down to system settings then click on system infotmation your firmware version will be shown here. If you are not running PSP Firmware 5.03 update by going to the game menu, and click on the memory and then run the 5.03 update. Follow the on screen prompts to install the 5.03 firmware

4. When you are running firmware 5.03 go to the photo menu, select the memory card and press X , you should now see a Chickhen folder, click X again, now as soon as the next screen appears hold down the left down button until you get to the bottom picture. If your PSP powers off you need to turn your PSP back on and repeat step 4. It usually takes me 4 - 6 times until it works. You know the hen is loaded successfully when your PSP restarts by its self.

To verify the hen is loaded go to the settings menu on ur PSP (The left most menu) then scroll down to system settings then click on system information your firmware version should read "5.03 Chickhen R2" If it does ready this you can now enjoy homebrew

But beware as soon as you turn your PSP off you will need to repeat step 4

I've done this several times, and it worked
