Thank you, so i will be like you.
Master's degree in Architecture not yet. I submitted the application with 3 years relevant experience.
Did you submit your application with years of experience also and whats the next step once you get a positive response? Cypha8. Cc:bossladyMO
Abeg be better than me oh... As you can see the end of my current timeline grin

No sir, I did not have enough years of work experience to claim points for experience. Next step after positive assessment is to seek state sponsorship (SS). For now, you should qualify for Northern Territory SS. Tasmania I doubt but you can check their requirements if you meet them. These are the only two states you are eligible for at the moment.

You can start preparing for NT SS application while waiting for your assessment resuly. Good luck...

Hi Cypha 8, Did I hear you say you got positive assesment from vetassess?
Congratulations! And how did you do it?
Though I have B.Tech in Architecture (2009) also, I just submitted my application for assessment to Vetassess and i nominated Architectural Draftsperson when I wasnt sure degree in Architecture would be accessed at par with Australia Architect ure degree. Hoping to receive a positive response.

Hi,
Your B.Tech. is enough to get a positive from VETASSESS. Architect occupation is another ball game entirely... Do you have a masters degree in architecture?

Best wishes with your assessment..

Yeah I received mine last week, which was three weeks late than my postgraduate administrator told me I will get it. So it may be due to internal delays from your department or faculty. Anyways, we're not in October yet which is when letters are mostly issued. I was told the same but requested the faculty to flag my application with my department so it can move through quickly...

Best wishes mate...

yinksob002: Is there anyone in the house who has received his/her admission letter for 2015 postgraduate studies cos i am yet to receive mine.

Just wondering why the response time is so long after submitting all required documents for 4 mths now.

Thank you.

bossladyMo: Both migrant programs are similar, but with a slight difference. For NZ, you pay to submit an EOI. You should visit immigration NZ website.
And for NZ PR, your EOI is valid for only 6 months. Plus the higher your score on the points scale, the higher your chances of being invited. Unlike Oz where 60 points is all you need...

samyan12: Please what are the chances of getting a state nomination with just a Btech(Hons) in mathematics and a year's work experience as a programmer
Depends on your nominated occupation which determines your assessing body. The assessing body will state their requirements in their Skills Assessment application guidelines.

What's your nominated skilled occupation?

TravelRe: General Australian Visa Enquiries by Cypha8: 6:01am On Aug 07, 2014
bossladyMo: It takes a day to get it renewed, if you're onshore, and a week if you are offshore. It's no biggie really, as you only need it if you are travelling out of Aus before you get your citizenship. Most people get their citizemship before the 5yrs runs put sef, so no need to apply for it, as they can get an Aus passport instead.
Alright then. Thanks...
TravelRe: General Australian Visa Enquiries by Cypha8: 5:50pm On Aug 06, 2014
bossladyMo: But you can't stay away for too long o. You are allowed to stay indefinitely in Aus, even if the expiry date has passed...as long as you dont leave the country. But, paraventure you have to leave the country, you havem't gotten citizenship yet, and the PR visa has expired, you will need to apply for a Resident Return Visa (RRV)....and there are some criteria you must satisfy to get that. If you don't satosfy the criteria, there has to be compelling reasons, or else it might be long thing o.
Ah! Why is it a PR if e dey expirehuh
TravelRe: General Australian Visa Enquiries by Cypha8: 10:14am On Aug 06, 2014
UBKtech: You will have 5yrs from the date of your grant to move to Australia permanently, but like I said you have to validate (FIFO) within the stipulated time.
Awesome, 5yrs is more than enough grin

Thanks...

TravelRe: General Australian Visa Enquiries by Cypha8: 11:50am On Aug 05, 2014
UBKtech: Usually, you will be given one year from the date of your medical clearance or police clearance, whichever comes first, irrespective of how long it took for your visa to be approved. Say you do you medicals on 01 August, you will have till around 01 August the following year to enter Australia. In essence, your one year period will start counting from the date of your medical or PCC and not from when visa is granted. However, you can do FIFO (fly in fly out) if you are not yet ready to make a permanent move.
Thanks boss.

Okay. So let's say I FIFO within the validity of my PCC/Medical, how long max can I be out before flying in again? And how long do I have after my visa grant to take up a job and basically call Oz home?

TravelRe: General Australian Visa Enquiries by Cypha8: 2:31pm On Aug 03, 2014
UBKtech: Do the needful if NT is the only option you have. I was kind of surprised cos NT could be considered as the Sambisa forest of Aussie grin grin, without BH boys of course tongue, close to 4hrs by flight to the closest city Adelaide. It is like living in Alaska in the US, a number of people I know live outside their sponsoring state anyway wink
UBKtech: grin grin I think Tasmania is by far ahead of NT. The whole population of NT is 234k in an area 1.5X bigger than Nigeria, while Tassy is 512K. The issue of unemployment rate has to do with the number of people living there.
bossladyMo: Wow! 234, 000 in my local govt sef is scanty, talkless of in a place 1 1/2 times Nigeria's size. Australia is big sha!
Look at these ppl making fun of my home to-be grin if acatchu ehn tongue

And it also says it is suitable for migration purposes at the end, abi? If you are in doubt, you can always go 489 sha....but there is no cause for alarm, really. Your hardcopy should be coming in latest Tuesday /Wednesday...you can mail them to send you the tracking number.
YES it says...

Based on the evidence provided, the qualification/s and employment described above meet the requirements of your nominated occupation and are assessed as suitable for migration purposes.
TravelRe: General Australian Visa Enquiries by Cypha8: 9:22pm On Jul 10, 2014
bossladyMo: .

There is no biggie...you still get your 15pts. As long as your result clearly states COMPARABLE TO AN AUSTRALIAN BACHELOR DEGREE. You can claim points for a higher degree, even if your occupation requires lower...as long a it is clearly assessed as equivalent. That is why PhD holders can claim points for PhD, even if the assessing body requires just a Bachelor's.

Shey u get?
I get it madame.

Here's what the outcome letter says...

Qualification/s

1. Bachelor of Technology (Architecture) awarded in 2011 by ...... Is recognised by VETASSESS for the purpose of awarding points for qualifications under the General Skilled Migration points test as comparable to the educational level of an Australian Bachelor degree.

Thank you bosslady and oga surveyor for your contribution...
