teamg,please can you elaborate on the maintenance you mean,because apart from the coding,hosting cost,i cannot envisage any other cost.maybe when the forum grows,they may be need for scaling up,yet i will love it if you clarify the likely invisible cost.thanks

Good day sir, I am one of the great admirers of the nairaland invention,it has been a blessing and a gateway to ideas, entertainment and opportunities for me.
I am interested in forum building . I have gotten a niche(business) and I am considering paying a programmer to coding from a scratch(he is charging 150k).But ran into this discussion on nairaland that nairaland forum started from SMF and operated on that until last two years or so.
So I am asking for your advice concerning the best way to start giving what you already know(and men I really need to cut down cost!)
Also if there are surprises that I am to expect at the teething stage in terms of technical issues,time commitment ,promotion, moderation etc,any of such advice is welcome.have a great day
