TradeSunMoore: POF should be 1 year tuition plus 1 year upkeep plus miscellaneous. However you must show how you will cover cost for subsequent years. It is good your dad is sponsoring as a fresh graduate you do not need to show any money. If your dad is employed Get your dad to write a letter of sponsorship, an affidavit of support, put his employment letters and payslip and salary account, tax clearance plus any other asset/ investment, property etc. If he is in business let him show business related documents, account statements and assets. Also remember your birth certificate very important. Thank you very much for your response please what about the family ties part? |

Makay16x: Did you self sponsor? No, my dad was my sponsor. Quick question please it’s the pof meant to be tuition for the two years plus living expenses or one year tuition plus living expenses |

I was refused Visa and this was the reason stated. I submitted a bank statement of 45million naira. What else can I use to prove family ties please? I’m a fresh graduate and I’m unmarried. My parents and siblings are in Nigeria though and I included all that in my Sop. Also, can someone kindly put me through how to request Gcms notes? I saw alot of different sites requesting for money to help process it

JMG12: Is your dad the one applying for SP? what you are trying to do will likely result in visa refusal. The money should be sent to your account, explain the lump sum with documents, let your uncle be a sponsor, attach his documents, source of income, TCC, CAC, letter of support, board resolution if the company is partnership, proof of relationship. I believe this will help Thank you very much for the response, the reason he wants to transfer to my dad is because he’s technically a family friend so I’m thinking proving ties and why he wants to sponsor me might be tricky |

Please I have more questions regarding this pof
I’m using my dad as my full sponsor but the lump sum is going to be paid into his account from my uncle’s company account,
1. can the money be paid at once or should it be in bits 2. we plan on explaining that he sold one of his landed properties for the money, what are the additional documents that would be required to support the pof. 3. Does he need to submit bank statements from his other accounts? Or just the account with the pof 4. Should he include documents of his other properties or it’s not needed 5. How long should the money stay in his account before we print the statement? |

Eraytee: Yes she submitted it initially and they requested for it again.
Yes you have to show the amount that covers your tuition and living expenses in whatever account you are using. thank you very much for your response |

JustMellow: Hello Daaaz0409,
To your number one question, not necessary. Not every application is subjected to a secondary verification when updated financial proof is requested. If the money is to be moved maybe for an ineluctable reason of business or containing financial losses, ensure the funds are easily accessible in the case an updated proof of funds is requested.
Yes to your number two question. Your sponsor must have not sought public recourse in Canada, and if one was taken, it must have been repaid to meet the description of an eligible sponsor. Proof of relationship, funds, and economic stability will be required. An important area you will have to painstakingly work on is how to demonstrate rigid home ties so your family ties in Canada don't outweigh those in your home country.
Best Wishes! Thank you very much for your response God bless |

Eraytee: Answers;
1. it is advisable to let the money remain in your account until decision is made, recently my spouse got a request as regards this to submit SOA after 17weeks+ of submitting the study permit application. so its either u invest your POF or let it be in the account you never know what would come up from VOs. 2. yes of course and that will largely depend on their earnings capacity. your spouse was asked to resubmit her statement of account 17 weeks after she initially submitted it the first time in her application? And secondly, if my sibling in Canada is serving as my sponsor, does he need to have the total money needed in his available balance? |

Hello house please I have 2 questions regarding study permit application 1. Does the tuition and living expenses you show on your bank statement that you submit need to remain in the account till visa is granted?
2. If you have a sibling in Canada that’s a permanent resident and works full time can they serve as your sponsor? And how does that work if it’s possible |

Hello house, I’ve been a silent reader on this thread for a while now, and thanks to all the info I got from this platform I was able to do my university application myself. I just got admitted to do my masters at university of Calgary. Meng Geomatics Engineering.
My passport however is not ready yet, is there anything I can do in the meantime while waiting for my passport? And also a friend advised that I use an agent for the visa application, what do you guys think? I’ve been doing everything myself thus far including passport application |
