CareerRe: Why Are All Africans Studying Nursing In America? by dady2011(m): 5:40am On Jan 08, 2014
@ OP. Some people (especially women) tends to gravitate towards Nursing primarily because of the following:
> it is relatively easier to find a Job with less competition as a black person;
> Love taking care of the sick/love nursing as a profession (majority in this group are most likely trained nurses in Nigeria before coming to America)
> Some abandon their original occupation and switch to nursing because they are unable to overcome the road block and challenges required to get back to their original field of specialization (most men in nursing fall into this group - Unable to find employment in their primary occupation due to inadequate soft/hard skills, and knowledge of their chosen occupation required to get hired)

Generally, nursing is not only a good paying job, it is also a very stressful and dirty job that many Africans/black women default to in order to pay the bills and survive.

In today North America, anyone going into Engineering, and Medical/Health related occupation will certainly find a good paying job, unless the individual can not defend his/her degree/certificate or lack the desire experience/skill required to do the job.
CareerYale Law Prof New Book Claims 8 Cultural Groups Achieve More Success In America by dady2011(op): 3:39am On Jan 08, 2014
Amy Chua, who rose to national prominence as the iron-fisted 'Tiger Mom,' is attracting controversy over an upcoming book that claims certain ethnic and religious groups are inherently more likely to succeed than others in America, as measured by income, occupational status, test scores etc because of three specific traits - Superiority complex, Insecurity and Impulse Control.

Amy indicated in her book the following 8 ethnic & religious groups superiority: - Jewish, Indian, Chinese, Iranian, Lebanese-Americans, Nigerians, Cuban exiles and Mormons.

Do you agree with her assessment?

FamilyRe: Should He Fight For Custody Of His Kids?? by dady2011(m): 5:06pm On Jan 14, 2013
In this type of love triangle, you never under estimate what an angry woman could do, if she could not get him to play her game so that she can put him away through false accusation, she could resort to beging him for a second chance blaming everything on the devil. If he is foolish enough to not read the hand writing on the wall and fall for the trap, she then could eliminate him by herself or arrange for her boyfriend to do the dirty job for some life insurance claim.

When the dust settles, she will realize sooner that the person that she is sleeping with now will not commit to marrying her, and then it is too late. Typically, woman like this end up lossing her savings to a young guy that will take advantage of her and clean her account red before walking away on her. unfortunately, the kids will suffer the most and they might be abused by her boyfriend under her nose without her knowing.

If you must marry, please do not go to the village to marry and bring her over, it does not work in most cases. Save yourself the trouble by looking out for a well educated girl that is born in the West, with the fear of God in her and whose parent are not divorce.

Only Dayo & David seems to understand the Woman's manipulative/vindinctive strategy in the Divorce War and have provided sensible contributions to the OP posting, unfortunately, some here are still arguing blindly, shamelessly exposing their level of ignorance and myopic view for everyone to see. No wonder many good and successful brothers go for the trophy wife (white women)to avoid dealing with unrepentant drama queen while insisting on a prenup. The net result is that the few good black sisters are finding it harder to find a good black man amongst the few available good black men to marry.

@ Op, the man has done the right thing by paying the child support as he move on with his life. The children will look for their father when they grow up and realize that their mom made them lie against him.

Some man will find a way to not pay the Child support legally, they can even quit their Job, get on welfare and/or outright go back to school for about some years to do some programm (MBA, or what ever program he like) and provide evidence to the court and he will be off the hook for paying child support untill he start working again, and some will even live the country for good.

Marriage and Divorce has now become a business with love thrown out the Window in the West once the dotted line is signed. The link below shows some high profile divorce war with millions of $ settlement.

CareerRe: Are Technicians Better Than Engineers In Nigeria? by dady2011(m):
@ Op - As a practicing Professional Engineer (P.Eng) with RF Engineering experience both in the Nigerian and North American telecommunications industry, I will tell you that there is no basis for comparing engineers with technicians as both have different task to perform as part of a technical team of an organization.

As an example, in the telecommunications industry, an RF Engineer typically may design, plan and/or optimize wireless communications system to meet specific coverage and capacity requirememnts in certain market. The system technicians typically drive test, install and/or maintain the system. If one or more of the key performance indicators (drop call rate, call setup success rate, etc) goes above the company defined minimum threshold or there is a customer complain, an RF Engineer assigned to look after the market may require a technician to drive test and collect call data along specific drive route and the data collected is then analyzed by the engineer to identify the problem and profer solution. A work order/ticket may be issued by the engineer to operations to do certain things with specific instruction on what need to be done (eg add or drop specific neighbours, channels etc)and the problem is solved.

In the above example, both the technician and Engineer involved in solving the network problem complement each other, each have their specific define task to perform for the overall good of the company that they work for. in some company, technicians are in operation/field services and report to their own Operations/Field Manager, while Engineers report to their own Engineering Manager in the Engineering department. In my experience with one of the wireless service provider in Nigeria, Engineers do the drive test by themselves and analyze the data (I do not know if this is still the case today in Nigeria, as I left the company a couple of years ago). In North America however, one of the service provider that I have worked for have a separate operations department with technicians that do drive test in addition to other task, Engineers does not typically do drive test, rather a ticket is issued for a technician to do the required drive test and provide the data for analysis.

Any technician that want to become an Engineer can do so at anytime by going back to school to get the proper education/degree is Engineering, pass a professional practice examination, have the required experience and be license as an Engineer, so there is no use equating technicians with engineers as equal. Just as Doctors and Nurses work together to solve patient health problems, Engineers and Technicians also work together to solve engineering problems cost effectively taking public safety into consideration.

Please stop diminishing the value of Nigerian Engineers. The last time I check, Nigerian Universities are still producing some quality Engineers that can compete favourably with other engineers from other Universities around the world. And there are so many Nigerian trained practicing professional engineers here is North America doing great things.
RomanceRe: How Do I Meet Eligible Naija Bachelors? by dady2011(m): 10:48pm On Jan 16, 2012
Why would a responsible and well mannered woman ever open her leg for a total stranger she just meet?.  She does not even know the man so well, what if it turns out that the man is one of those irresponsible men with several Children by several women that can not support any of the mothers/children? what if the man has a risky life style that potentially expose him to HIV/AIDs?. What if the man is a criminal and always in and out of Jail? If she is quick to open her legs for a stranger without waiting a bit to know him better, she is simply gambly and potentially at a risk of being used and dump in the relationship equation.

Not sure how many responsible men out there would seriously consider marrying a loose woman that opens her legs before you know it on the first date.

Item # 6 will potentially give her sometime to know him a bit before throwing herself at him.
RomanceRe: How Do I Meet Eligible Naija Bachelors? by dady2011(m): 9:48pm On Jan 16, 2012
To hook up a good Naija man, you may want to do the following:
1. Re-evaluate yourself and correct behavior/attitude that turn off potential suitors if applicable e.g loud mouth, I, I, I, I, me, me, me, me,  my this & my that;
2.  Re-evaluate what you need from a man eg; Higher income/education, will you date/marry a blue-collar brother? will you marry, support and respect a less educated brother and help him gain the require education to be able to earn as much or more than you?
3.  Make yourself approachable, be yourself, be truthful and not exaggarate anything.
4. Do not overlook meeting a brother at the Mall, Grocesary store or African store close to you whenever you go shopping. if you see a guy that you like, initiate discussion with him on any topic to get him to notice and talk to you. you never can tell, telephone #s could be exchange as a result and a relationship could start.
5. Isolate yourself from a group in a gathering to allow room for suitor to meet with you and talk to you privately

6. Do not just throw your legs wide apart the first few dates, get to know him better and then make a decision if he is the type you want.

7. Do not rely on internet/online dating as many will take u for a ride, scam you and live you broken heated to start all over again, as you have less than 5% chances of meeting the right person online.

8. Talk to Friends and family members to recommend someone;

9. Investigate and do a proper background check on any suitor that you are considering a serious relationship with before openning your heart, mind, wallet and body for him to ride on freely without commitment. This will help you avoid joining the league of North American booming baby mama's as a result of run away/absent dady's.

Good luck in your search

@chi-nne

This is a dissaster waiting to happen. If she does not drive this crazy swiss ex boyfriend away now, here is what will happen to her:
1. She will be carried away by the prospect of travelling with ex to make some $$$$$ (will not happen, even if it does, there is guarantee that the ex has not turn into a drug dealer, 419, love-vendor or probably a thug abroad to survive)
2. She will start having sex with him while still marriage to her husband
3. When she become pregnant, the Ex may dump her and walk away (afterall he has got what he wanted)
4. If he marries her ex, chances are that she may have to share him with so many other girls, in any case she will be the losser for it
5. She may run back to beg her real husband to take her back - I hope the man will not be foollish to accept her back then
6. The stability and happiness of her child will be at risk

If she still has any iota of common sense left on her kokonut head, she should stop communicating with her ex-lover immediately. she should change her phone # and never call or receive or welcome him into her life again before this devil destroy her home. and finally she should immediately let her husband know what is going on without which his life might be at a risk.

I hope she and her family are not crazy about $$$$$ to be unable to think straight and see the danger ahead.

You are about to make the greatest mistake of your life dumping a woman that really loves you for what you are. This type of women are very hard to come by in todays world of materialism where marriages have become a business contract. - For Better For Stay, No job, No money and No marriage.

75% of all marriages that end in divorce are initiated by women, so you are better of marrying a woman that really loves you more than you love her to guarantee the survival and longivity of the marriage. You are very lucky to have this girl crying for your love, please do the right thing and not hurt her.

Ask yourself what you are going to do if your new girlfriend does not really loves you but your money, what if your new girl friend that you thought you love today turns out to be a prostitute, a cheater, a nagging or disrespectful wife if you become jobless and unable to take care of her financially?. It migt be too late to go back to your true love at that time.

You may not appreciate what you have today, I believe that you must have promised her marriage during your 6 years together and now you are trying to brake your promise because you are financially comfortable and those gold digger are all over you, making you to think that you do not need your true love any more.

Note that running around with different woman can only guarantee you one thing - unhappiness and potentially contracting STI/STD or HIV/AID.

Aljazeera English profile a documentary titled - "People  & Power - The Nigerian Connection"  focusing on  Italy. It is a must see for all those who care about the plight of our Sisters in Europe to understand the risk that they put their live through to make those quick money (Euro) that they throw around when they finally visit home.

The debasement of womanhood that too many Nigerian girls/women in Europe go through in the name of money is unimaginable. No wonder many find it dificult to find a real good husband after screwing around in europe. The result unfortunately is that many just have children without knowing their real biological fathers to beat their biological clock, and the unlucky once get infected with STD/HIV/AIDs and return quietly to die in Nigeria without the opportunity to use/enjoy those easy money that they made from the trade.

Below is the link to the complete documentary in two parts (part 1 & 2) for your viewing. I like to see how many of you will still encourage your Sisters, Mothers, Wives and Daughters to go to Europe for prostitution after watching this complete documentary:

CareerRe: Telecommunications Professionals Zone by dady2011(m): 3:30pm On Oct 10, 2011
If you have not had the opportunity to gain some valuable hands on RF Engineering experience during your undergraduate IT/NYSC days, you still can do so by volunteering (with or without pay) for a telecom company that you would like to work for. Doing this will set you apart and help get your foot in the door of that company without any serious competition.

Volunteering will increase your chances of landing a Job by over 60% compare to your peers who will be looking for advert before they can apply or contacting HR who typicall will tell you that there is no vacancy, collect your CV and you never hear from them again.

Please note:

> When a position become open, the team is usually the first to know, if anyone can identify a suitable candidate to fill the position, the manager will most likely interview that candidate and offer the Job if you qualify without advert on the company website or on newspapers

> You will need to identify the hiring Manager in the RF Engineering department that you plan to work, set up an information interview with him/her to discuss how you can help add value to his/her team through volunteering your time. Do not beg him/her, do not appear despirate, Just be calm and handle the meeting as if it is a real interview. You never can tell, your information interview might just become a real interview where the manager now start interviewing you for an open position.

> Reseach online to be familiar with some RF Engineering theories and the company in general before talking to the hiring manager to show your interest.

> You will typically have to learn how to make a cold call to a potential hiring manager to set up an information interview - look online for how to do this.

Good luck
CareerRe: Telecommunications Professionals Zone by dady2011(m): 6:25am On Oct 10, 2011
RF Engineering in the wireless telecommunications industry involves the design, optimization and performance analysis of a Radio Access Network (including Microwave link). As an RF Engineer, you may be working on one or more of the following network:

> 2G network:  - e.g CDMA (IS-95), GSM;
> 2.5G network:  - e.g cdma2000, GSM/GPRS/EDGE;
> 3G network: - e.g  EVDO, HSPA;
> 4G network: - e.g  WLAN, WiMAX, LTE (All IP Centric); and
> LMR:  - e.g P25,Tetra (Public Safety Network).

Do you need Cisco certification to function as an RF Engineer in any one of the above network?. The answer is, it depends on which specific RF Engineering task you will be involved in. Wireless network are migrating to all IP centric platform using cisco equipment, so a cisco certification is a MUST have if you will be doing networking and system configuration - configuring Routers, switches etc. However, if your task is purely RF network design, planning and/or optimization, a cisco certification is generally not needed. What you need is a very good understanding of RF network design, Planning and Optimization and how to use the RF design tool to do a number of RF engineering task including coverage design, frequency planning, microwave path analysis etc. depending on your specific interest and work responsibility.

A Masters degree is good to have if you can afford it, but not necessary. You absolutely need a Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field with some years of RF engineering experience (if you have no hands on experience, learn the theories online). You will also need to keep your telecommunications knowledge current to remain relevant in the field.

Depending on the Country that you are practicing in (different countries have different rule), you may be required to write and pass some prescribe examination with some years of experience before you can be allowed to legally use the title "Engineer" or "RF Engineer".

3. Have you had any experience where you tried to kill a person and you were not successful?
4. Do you sometimes feel that you should not have taken a persons life?
5. Do you develop any kind of scientific invention that could help advance technology and the way mankind does things in your witchcraft?
6. Can you share some examples (if any) of what you have done to make the world a better place than you meet it?
7. Are you able to predict the future?

I do not believe the storey that the officer committed suicide. The DPO of that station know something about his death and the Government should investigate it. unfortunately, the level of corruption in the system will not allow them investigate anything. they will probably distroy all evidence and autopsy may not even be done. It sound as if he has some information that could potentially damage the DPO and his corrupt officer's image and threatened their job, so they have decided to take him out to bury the secrete for ever.

Nigeria is now the kidnapping HQs of the world, and the devil and its agents have finally relocated its operational head office, command and control centers to Nigeria with some of it's agent leading the Political class. Unfortunaely, most Nigerians have welcome this development, voted for it, and joined the band wagon to make quick money from the sweat of innocent and heard working fellow Nigerians through kidnapping as reflected in the majority of the post in this forum.

For those of you supporting kidnappers, today it is Mikel's, tomorrow it could be you, your family member or your very close friend or relative. Most importantly, many who would have love to invest in small business in Nigeria to help create job and grow the economy are scared away by your active support and protection of kidnappers amongst you.

I do not understand how someone will work hard all his life only for all his life savings to be scammed away from him through kidnapping and yet the Nigeria society welcome the kidnappers. Nigeria has become so rotten so much so that disgruntle family member (siblings, husband/wife, brother/sister even close friends) now actively stage and plan kidnappings to scam money off a successful family and close relatives and yet people support it. Those of you supporting the kidnappers, how many of you supporters of kidnappers would like to work hard and become financially successful only for your life savings to be scam/taken away by kidnappers?

Today is Mikel turn, tomorrow it could be your turn and until Nigeria say enough is enough and vote the right person that will take public safety and security seroiusly, it is going to be more of the same.

Mikel should not pay anything to this criminals and their agents and let the sky fall, I am so ashame to say I am a Nigerian, with so many Nigerians now into kidnapping as a second career.

Had a 2:1 from one of the top 6 Nigerian University in engineering a few years ago, worked 10 years in engineering in Nigeria and then travelled to N/America where I did a Masters in Engineering and has been working in N/America as an Engineer for the past 4 years in the same field.

Having gone through both system, I will say for sure that engineering program from a top tier engineering school in N/America will provide its student with an opportunity to receive intense exposure to real technical industry issues, it will typically combine classroom learning with hands-on practical experience through a significant project with engineering industry in your field.  The knowledge and experience gain can be applied directly to solving real industry problem in your chosen field. Depending on the area of engineering, there is also a lot of  mathematical, theoritical and lab analysis as well, using state of the act technology. In Nigeria engineering school, some of these analysis are not as detailed and some of the lab still lack modern equipment, so student tend to cram just to pass exam.

Like I said before, if you are good at what you do and willing to do the extra work to suceed, you will do equally well in any school whether it is in Nigeria or abroad. Most Nigerian student are top in their classes in various top tier Universities around the world, unfortunately, the Nigerian schools and environment put some limitation on the Nigeria Unversity graduate abilities.

School ranking will be a good guide to see how your school is doing compare with others around the world.
