The helicopter immediately caught fire after coming down at around 10am on Sunday morning, January 26. All onboard died.

Flight data shows the aircraft appeared to get into trouble above the LA Zoo where it circled at a very low altitude and air traffic control audio suggests conditions were worsening in the run up to the crash.

Initial reports claimed five people had been killed, but the death toll was raised to nine. The dead include Kobe, 41, his daughter Gianna, 13, the pilot, named as Ara Zobayan, John Altobelli – a baseball coach at Orange County College -, his wife Keri and daughter Alyssa. Girls basketball coach Christina Mauser was also killed in crash.

The occupants of the ill-fated chopper were said to have been headed to Mamba Academy – which Kobe Bryant founded – in Thousand Oaks for a youth tournament involving Kobe’s daughter Gigi and her teammate Alyssa.

The deaths came as a shock and the world is still reeling from it, with most people taking to social media to pay tributes and express their pain at the loss.

Nigerian lady strips & brutalize her friend for attempting to sleep with her boyfriend (video)

An unidentified lady has been accused of leading an attack in which she and her friends stripped and brutalized another lady for attempting to sleep with her boyfriend.

While some Twitter users alleged that the ladies in the video are students of Ambrose Ali University (AAU), Ekpoma, Edo State, some debunked the claim, stating the ladies are residents of Warri in Delta State.

It was said that the boyfriend of the school mother asked the girl to come meet him in the village, that he would give her 100k as she arrives. When she got there. The school mother and her friends got a news and gathered themselves towards her location and she was caught.

Frank Lampard, who played against Cavani when the 32-year-old Uruguay was both at PSG and Napoli, believes he would provide some much-needed experience to Chelsea’s young side.

It was reported that Cavani has drawn interest from Manchester United, Arsenal, Chelsea and Atletico Madrid in recent weeks.

Cavani has started just four games in Ligue 1 this season for PSG, having lost his place to Mauro Icardi who is on loan from Inter Milan.

“Christopher Tolkien has died at the age of 95,” the organization tweeted. “The Tolkien Society sends its deepest condolences to Baillie, Simon, Adam, Rachel and the whole Tolkien family.”

Christopher was Tolkien’s third son and was well known among his father’s fans.

As he grew up, Christopher Tolkien showed a great interest in his father’s work, eventually going on to edit and publish his unpublished material, including “The Silmarillion” in 1977 and “The Fall of Gondolin” in 2018.

He was best known for publishing his father’s historical record of Middle-earth after his death in 1973.

Born in Leeds, United Kingdom, Tolkien served in the military, joining the Royal Air Force during World War II.

After the war, he returned home to finish his studies in English at Trinity College in Oxford, later lecturing on Old English, Middle English and Old Icelandic at that same school.

Shaun Gunner, the chair of Tolkien Society, mourned Tolkien’s death on Twitter.

Earlier this week, video surfaced on social media showing Odell Beckham Jr slapping the buttocks of a male Mercedes Benz SuperDome security guard in the LSU locker room.

The alleged incident occurred after the Tigers’ national championship victory over Clemson on Monday in New Orleans.

New Orleans Police released the following statement regarding the situation:

“Today (January 16, 2020), the NOPD has obtained an arrest warrant for Odell Beckham Jr. (DOB: 11-05-1992) on a charge of misdemeanor simple battery in regards to an incident that occurred on January 13, 2020 at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome.Inquires regarding obtaining a copy of the arrest warrant should be directed to the Orleans Parish Clerk of Court’s Office.No further information is available at this time.”



New Orleans police department public affairs officer Juan Barnes confirmed that the security guard filed the complaint, according to ESPN’s Jake Trotter. Trotter wrote the following in regards to the arrest warrant:

“Louisiana statute defines simple battery as battery committed without the consent of the victim. Punishment in Louisiana can include a fine of no more than $1,000 and imprisonment for no more than six months, or both.”

The Cleveland Browns issued the following statement regarding the situation:

“We are aware of the incident and have been in touch with Odell and his representatives on the matter. They are cooperating with the proper authorities to appropriately address the situation.”

Kimia Alizadeh implied in an Instagram post that she had now moved to Europe.

Kimia Alizadeh wrote on an account she has used for some time, but it was not immediately possible to verify her location.

“No one has invited me to Europe and I haven’t been given a tempting offer.

“I am one of the millions of oppressed women in Iran whom they’ve been playing for years… I wore whatever they told me and repeated whatever they ordered. Every sentence they ordered I repeated,” she wrote.

“None of us matter for them, we are just tools.”

She said that while the government exploited her medals politically, officials would humiliate her with remarks such as “It is not virtuous for a woman to stretch her legs!”

Alizadeh said at the time of her medal in the 57kg category that it had made her happy for Iranian girls.



On Sunday she appeared torn by her decision.

“Should I start with hello, goodbye or condolences? Hello oppressed people of Iran, goodbye noble people of Iran, my condolences to you people who are always mourning,” she wrote.

In the past week, 176 people, many Iranians with dual citizenship, were killed when the Iranian military mistakenly shot a Ukrainian airliner down.

Also, at least 56 died in a stampede at the funeral for an Iranian military commander killed by a U.S. airstrike.

Alizadeh is the third top Iranian sports person to stop representing the country in recent months.

In December, Iran’s Chess Federation said top-rated chess champion Alireza Firouzja had decided not to play for Iran over its informal ban on competing against Israeli players.

Three months earlier, the International Judo Federation said Iranian judoka Saeid Mollaei had refused to return home over fears for his safety.

US vs Iran: Video shows how missile shot down Ukrainian plane, killing 176 [Watch]

A new video surfaced showing the moment a Ukrainian airliner carrying 176 passengers was hit by a missile before crashing not far from Iran’s airport in Tehran on Wednesday.

The New York Times and CNN said they were sent the video by internet-freedom researcher Nariman Gharib, who said he obtained it from another individual.

The Ukrainian International Airlines flight PS752 bound for Kyiv, its capital, crashed minutes after takeoff from the Imam Khomeini International Airport in Tehran.

The planed plunge to the ground shortly after Iran attacked US bases with over 15 missiles. All the 176 passengers and crew on board the plane were killed.

The New York Times reports that the video shows a small explosion in the sky over Parand, near Tehran, the suburb where the Ukrainian airliner first stopped transmitting its signal.

The plane continues to fly for several minutes before turning back towards the airport, the newspaper said.

It then exploded and crashed. A loud explosion can be heard.



Bellinggcat, an independent international collective of researchers and citizen journalists, using geolocation technology and other techniques, established the video was taken in Parand.

Bellingcat said it was possible that two missiles were fired, prompting the person filming to start recording.

The New York Times also reported that the person started filming after hearing “some sort of shot fired.”

However, Iran had since denied that the plane was hit by a missile.

“All these reports are a psychological warfare against Iran … all those countries whose citizens were aboard the plane can send representatives and we urge Boeing to send its representative to join the process of investigating the black box,” Iranian state TV quoted government spokesman,Ali Rabiei who said this in a statement.

Iranian investigators released an initial report on Thursday that said the airliner was on fire and tried turning back but its crew never made a radio call for help.

According to Olubajo, trouble started after a Nigerian allegedly stabbed to death a South African police officer, Nico Visagie, during a disagreement. Olubajo said the details of the disagreement were still not very clear as the “major witness” was also stabbed multiple times and was still in critical condition at the hospital.

“After the horrific incident, the community members of Keimoes and environs went on rampage burning and destroying properties belonging to foreign nationals, Nigerians in particular. These attacks spread to Upington and Nigerians and other foreign nationals were also expelled from Upington.

Prompt Police intervention brought about calm but the situation is still tensed. Some locals were arrested by the police for public disturbance and malicious damage to properties. They appeared in a magistrates’ court this morning for bail hearing.”

President Trump says ‘Iran will never have a nuclear weapon as long as i’m president’

Soleimani, killed Friday, led the Quds special forces unit of Iran elite Revolutionary Guards, and was a key figure of Iranian and Middle East politics. His death increased already-high tensions between Iran and the United States after the US pulled out of the Iran nuclear deal.

This denial debunked Iranian claims that its missiles killed 80 US military personnel and wounded 200 others.

With no Americans killed, expectations of an immediate escalation in the oil-exporting region appeared to recede.

Though retribution had been expected for the deadly drone strike, Iraq said it had received verbal notice from the Iranians prior to the strikes.

Meanwhile, airlines are not taking chances that the conflict will not snowball into more ciolence and missile strikes as they changed routes to avoid the conflict zone.

Nigeria listed for possible war crimes by international criminal court (ICC)

The office of the prosecutor of the international criminal court (ICC) has listed Nigeria among 11 countries currently under probe for alleged war and international human rights crimes.

The probe was announced in ICC’s end of the year report on preliminary examination activities.

Nigeria which was listed for possible war crimes alongside Venezuela, Colombia, Guinea, Iraq/UK, Palestine, Republic of Philippines, Ukraine and Bangladesh/Myanmar, is reportedly in phase three of the investigation stages dealing with admissibility (the last stage before the conclusion of investigation).

A wide range of crimes allegedly committed in Nigeria since 2010 is currently being examined as disclosed in the report dated December the 5th, 2019.

The All Progressives Congress (APC) national leader said: “I was in the trenches and in the opposition with Muhammadu Buhari, till the Third Term agenda of a former leader of this country failed.

“I know he will never. He has the courage and the character to refuse such a temptation even if offered to him. I believe in him and I believe Nigerians should also believe in him.

The Theatre Commander of the Operation Lafiya Dole, Major Gen. Olusegun Adeniyi was reportedly attacked by Boko Haram insurgents on Monday January 6.

Adeniyi was attacked by the terrorists around 7:20 pm while on his way back to Maiduguri after a visiting troops deployed to Jakana in Konduga Local Government Area of the state.

A source who pleaded anonymity told Channels Television;

“As we were coming back to Maiduguri after we left Jakana, we suddenly started hearing gunshots all over.

“Before we realized it, they had bombarded us with heavy fire from different angles. Fortunately for us, we were able to repel the attack and escape.”

Major General Ismail Qaani, who was announced as Soleimani’s successor just hours after he was killed, vowed retribution for his death on Monday while crying over his coffin as thousands gathered in the streets of Tehran as part of a three day burial ceremony.

“The revenge for Soleimani’s martyrdom is a promise given by God,” Qaani said, according to Iranian state-news agency IRNA.

“We promise to continue Martyr Soleimani’s path with the same strength and his martyrdom will be reciprocated in several steps by removing the US from the region.”

After Qaani threatened to remove the US from the region, the military adviser to Iran’s Supreme Leader told CNN that the response to the US strike would “for sure be military” on a military site.

Just on Sunday, Iraqi lawmakers, outraged over the killing of Soleimani on Iraqi soil, voted to remove US forces from the country but US President Trump threatened to sanction Iraq if US troops were kicked out as the U.S had open trillions of dollars protecting the country for years.

It’s an enduring memory for former Packers linebacker A.J. Hawk, one that hasn’t faded over the past nine years.

Mike McCarthy, who Monday was named the new coach of the Dallas Cowboys, clearly believes in the power of visualization.

It’s unclear if Mike McCarthy was alone in that presumptuous exercise. The Seattle Seahawks didn’t do that before their Super Bowls. And New England?

Maybe that audacity is something that sets Mike McCarthy apart as he heads to Dallas, where his Packers beat the Pittsburgh Steelers in that only Super Bowl played in North Texas.

Cultivating a belief within the team and beyond that, the Cowboys fan base will be paramount for a franchise that has fallen so short so often.

Jason Garrett was certainly capable of that, but after 20 years in the organization either as a player, assistant coach, or head coach his stay had run its course.

Garrett was a onetime backup to Troy Aikman, and that Hall of Fame quarterback was sharply critical of the way the Cowboys handled the split, waiting a full week before announcing Garrett had been fired.

“Breakups are always hard we all understand that at whatever level they occur, but I don’t know that after all that he gave and committed to this organization that he received the same in return,” Aikman, a Fox color analyst, told FOX 4 in Dallas.



“When the organization was unwilling, for whatever reasons, and I don’t know the back stories to it all, but when the organization was unwilling to come out publicly and say, ‘We are seeking a new coach,’ and yet at the same time reports are coming out that they’re interviewing potential candidates for the head coaching position that’s disappointing.

“I think in a lot of ways it shines a light on some of the dysfunction, if you will, within the organization and kind of how they got to the point that they’re in now.”

Without question it’s a challenging situation for McCarthy, going from a franchise with no owner, per se, to a club led by Jerry Jones, one of the most high-profile owners in sports.

Matching what Mike McCarthy did in Green Bay, reaching the playoffs in nine of 13 seasons, is no simple task.

According to multiple reports, McCarthy plans to bring on New Orleans linebacker coach Mike Nolan as his defensive coordinator. Mike McCarthy was offensive coordinator in San Francisco when Nolan was head coach of the 49ers.

“I think he and Jerry Jones will get along great,” Hawk said of McCarthy. “I think Mike is dying to get back out there, and I think this is a great job for him.”

Mike McCarthy certainly has the resume and the confidence.

Time will tell if it’s truly a fit.
