Interesting! I havent even come across such a freebie ad yet in my case, but its definitely worth being on the look out for such. For some reason, the landlords ive met so far don't seem too keen on renting out to me, a newbie in Canada. Its just unexpected, the reactions ive gotten so far on this but I believe it will work out and very well too. Thanks

I think I know why she made that statement. There have been reported cases of landlords demanding sex for free rent in BC. So many pervs out there. I do not know about other provinces though. One has to be careful with freebies.

But I usually see more female rentals on kijiji.ca. I have even seen a landlord offering free rental to females.
Check out the postings and try to text or call the posters.

Thanks for your response, DatechMan. I am around Square one and yes, I am continuing my search believing something will give soonest as I have a couple more days to find a place . I just did not anticipate that it will be this dicey to rent around here. Where about are you, yourself?
