On the day that Babangida moved to Abuja, the section of the Bridge from Ebute Metta to Oworonshoki was named after him. He drove to the Ebute Metta exit and unveiled the plaque. That's not true. The 3rd Mainland Bridge is entirely named after IBB.

Did you know the official name for the 3 Mainland bridge in Lagos is Ibrahim Badamosi Babangida (IBB) Bridge?

Have you seen that it is futile to name the 2nd Niger Bridge after Buhari? ..

If you like Buhari so much, make you name edifices after him in areas where he is popular. You can name the Lagos-Ibadan express way after him.

If you name the Second Niger Bridge after Buhari, it is a waste of time. The regular users - South East and South Southerners won't call it Buhari bridge.. He is not popular there.
It will remain the 2NB to them.

Infact, the official name of the 3rd Mainland Bridge in Lagos is Ibrahim Badamosi Babangida (IBB) Bridge. IBB built that bridge, but have you ever heard anyone call it IBB Bridge in Yorubaland?

The name never stuck because Yorubas refused to call it IBB Bridge, they did not like IBB because of the June 12 issue.
