Parser: You shouldn't worry about high voltage if you already use 220V comfortably, you plug in devices without even thinking twice, your High Voc has MC4 connections, and it's only at a spot in your own which must be treated with Caution. 1 Like |

GSoleiman: All network has similar rates.. no much difference Those areas have Fiber broadband you pay based on bandwidth its cheaper than mobile date, buy your line first and enquire about broadband when you land Nigeria. get your 2 Airtel and 2 MTN for calls and data.. just to be safe in case one network is down.. you can also get Glo as back up. 2 Likes |

Buchika: 60A CC with 1400w panel on a 12V system is a waste of resources. with these loads, you need at least a 2000w panel, switch the batteries to 24V 105ah use 80A controller or 48V 50Ah LFP to maintain the 60A controller Hybrid Inverter would have been a better choice. My recommendation for this kind of load is 24V 2KW Hybrid with 80A MPPT, 2000watts panel to use during the day also to recharge, 24V, 210Ah LFP to power night loads |

adibo: Get QASA AC/DC, it's the best, it goes from 1 to 9.. 4watts to 65watts. most time you'll use 4 to 6 that only 12wats to 25watts. 7 8 9 are on another level.. consumes 36w, 45 and 65watts but omo, you don't want to use those always. I use 2 or 3 for all day just for continued ventilation which is good enough 7 and 10 watts I shared a picture here some time ago of the power consumption by Levels. I can't find the pictures now. Mavor: Exactly, why I offered my WhatsApp app number for you to contact, there are things I may need to explain properly, this group is a DIY group, and the purpose is to do things yourself, that 5KW inverter and batteries, can be gotten very cheap the DIY way! I will not disclose this here. As you can see people are posting ads here for finished products. you already have an idea of what things cost. DIY is a way if you have time to wait. |

Mavor: This alone, you need to plan for 3KWH Generated, a PS5 consumes about 160 to 200w. with your budget just was till December. 1KW Panel will achieve that, 300K is already gone, so the installer's quotation might be very appropriate! 2 Likes |

Allem: You are using a good Batteriy chemistry that allows charging up to 0.5C continuously. 60A on a 173AH batteries is 60/173C that is 0.35C.. So you are fine. Also note, since the charge controller is limited to 60A If you have inverte powered on, most people tend to use their Fridge during peak periods, so, in essence, your 60A is reduced to about 40A (or less depending on load), left to charge the batteries, so Not all 60A will charge the batteries except you always shut down inverter to charge which may not be the case. 1 Like 1 Share |

TechGeek777: Having a 120A BMS does not mean BMS will draw 120A from Batteries, it only means you have enough capacity and headroom. which means your BMS will run cooler and last longer. Just like having a 5KW inverter to run only a Fan or charge your phone, it does mean your inverter will push 5KW to the fan. or refrigerator. The higher the BMS capacity the better, the 105AH Batteries can deliver up to 2C which is 210A... this allows for Surge. Just like Inverters have 2X surge rating. Most users won't charge and discharge at more than 30A continuous, and up to 80A burst. Drawing 120A from a 105AH Capacity means the backup time will be around 50 Minutes, not sure people will do that. 1 Like |

amicdan: Simple answer, Get an MPPT Contoller. and use the Panel in Parallel. |
Satellite TV Technology / Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by Dam5reey(m): 10:11am On Apr 04 |
RickyM: Exactly my guess, You are only using 3 panels.. all these while.. A PWM controller provides your batteries with the maximum available current, wasting excess Voltage. So you connected 60V 24.6A to a PWM. Even in full Sun, it will supply your batteries with 28V at 24.6A. excess voltages or 3 extra panels wasted. But if you do it all in Parallel. You will have 30.8V at 49.2A input and your batteries will charge at 28V at 49.2A. Here you are pushing too much current, you need High Guage Wires, which is expensive! With MPPT, you can maintain the 2 in series and 3 set in parallel. With MPPT, you are receiving the same 60V 24.6A.. your batteries will receive 28V at about 49.2A.. because MPPT will converter excess Voltage to current. 2. When you say MPPTs are expensive.. and you are only getting 840 watts from a possible 1680w..? You can use PWM. But connect it properly and size the cable properly too. When I was using a PWM Controller on 24V system, I purposely Bought 280W panels with 30V VMP... and a higher current. Because I understand how to optimize each Device wether PWM or MPPT. it's all about understanding. 3. Yes, 30.8VMP is the sweet spot for 24V if you are using PWM. 5 Likes |
Satellite TV Technology / Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by Dam5reey(m): 9:42am On Apr 04 |
RickyM: The Answer is simple Get an MPPT controller for the New Set of 300w panels.. Your Inbuild Charge controller is only 50A and PWM. interesting to know how you connected the 6, 280w panels.. the best efficiency is to connect all 6 in Parallel. but I doubt that's the case. If possible, Get 2 external controllers, 1 for the 280W set and a second for the 300W set. The inbuilt CC is not efficient enough.. 1 Like |

Satellite TV Technology / Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by Dam5reey(m): 8:50am On Apr 04 |
balogunsam: Your Solar Charge controller is a Cheap PWM type, they get so hot as they can barely handle what they are rated for. this 60A CC shouldn't handle more than 20 to 30A input as its elcheapo.. 6, 180W Panel is pushing close to 60A to the Charge controller that's why it gets burnt. Get an MPPT charge controller and change the Solar configuration to 3s2P. current will be reduced at input and you will be able to charge your batteries more efficiently. |
