Religion / Re: One Big Misconception About Atheists by Dambudzo: 12:49pm On Jun 19, 2012
Enigma: There are atheists on this forum who have stated clearly that they believe in juju.

cool

Then they aren't really atheists. The very definition of atheist means we reject all claims about the supernatural. Last time l checked juju is supernatural.
Religion / One Big Misconception About Atheists by Dambudzo: 12:33pm On Jun 19, 2012
There is a big misconception amongst many Africans that atheists believe in the devil. Wrong ! We reject all claims of the supernatural. I know of a parent who told her daughter to stop seeing me because as an atheist l would 'convert' her to the dark world of Satanism.

African Christians are grateful for the missionaries that arrived on the continent because in their deluded minds without these intruders we would have forever been a lost bunch. Never mind the scandalous and brutal entry in which this faith was carted in and the things we have lost as a continent because of this carcinogenic agent, but what does that matter if we have gained the infallible “truth”, right ? There is a name for this kind of behaviour, actually it is a mental illness called Stockholm syndrome whereby a kidnap victim becomes sympathetic to his captors.
Crime / Re: Crazy Real Life robberies /Crime Stories by Dambudzo: 1:01pm On Jun 16, 2012
sexkillz: As i got down, a part of my mind said to flee, but right there in front of me was another robber, he subjected me to another round of searching, and then directed me to lie face down on the ground. Did i say ground? It was actually a bush and moderately wet ground, but i did not care, all i wanted was for this ordeal to be over.
At that time, i took succour in the fact that my bag was kinda safe in the luggage compartment. I still had my laptop, my wallet, money etc, so i could easily get a new phone in abuja the next day. . . So i thought.
As i was on the ground, other passengers were alighting and thoroughly searched as well. The ladies were made to pull down their panties, while they beamed their searchlights on them. . . It was then i realized that there were 15 of them. . .

Just say the whole fucken story. This sounds like you are making it up

The problem is your are already being subjective by defining a basic standard. A Christian nation will definitely say it is wrong to be gay. A Muslim nation will say it is punishable by death to insult Allah. While a secular society will say you are free to do anything provided you don't affect other people with your actions. Where do you draw the line?
Hitler thought there are some moral principle which his Nazi regime must abide with part of which is the extermination of the Jews. When people start to impose their believes on others, you will always get a disaster and revolt at some point in time.

The problem with moral relativism is that it assumes that everyone is correct. That is not the case. It is wrong to kill a man for his own personal opinions; it is wrong to keep slaves; it is wrong to abuse children. I believe these are moral precepts which all civilized societies must follow.

Laryokeke: I used to ask such questions too but you must realize that not everything can be explained.

Do you know that thesame legal system you talk about varies from country to country? I'll give you some examples here:
1. In Iran it is punishable by death to say there is no God.
2. Its is also a crime punishable by death for a Muslim to convert to Christianity.
3. In the Netherlands, prostitution is legal.
4. Smoking of marijuana is also legal in the Netherlands.
5. Homosexuality is Legal in many European countries including the Netherlands while it's a punishable offence in Nigeria.
6. In the US, some states allows homosexuality while some-others don't.
7. In Saudi Arabia women are not allowed to drive a car.
8. In Saudi Arabia a woman must always cover her hair in the public whether she's a Muslim, an Arab or a Westerner. it is the law.
9. In Oman, boys and girls are not allowed to talk and socialize in the public. It is strictly against the law but that is not a problem in Nigeria.

You can see that the cultural and religious believes of a people, influences their law in so many ways. So morality is subjective.

At a certain level morality is objective. They are certain moral principles which l think all societies must abide with.

nikkyshyne: This question is funny sha. Well, I think it was during the course of building the Tower of Babel. The people wanted to build a high-rise to reach God in heaven(how preposterous).

God then confused them by changing the unified language to various languages. Perhaps God changed some skin colours too.

Genesis 11

This is arrant nonsense. He also made the Chinese smaller ? And gave black women nappy hair ?
Religion / Re: Where Do Black People Come From According To Christianity ? by Dambudzo: 11:30pm On Jun 09, 2012
V_Official®:
There is no reference about Ham's wife's colouring. It was Moses who married a Cushite woman. The genetic makeup of the first man, Adam, was such that
extensive variety could develop among his offspring—in such things as skin color, hair color and texture, body size and facial characteristics.

Where is the evidence for this claim ?
