*CIVIL SERVANT WHO IMPREGNATED MOTHER-IN-LAW DURING _OMUGWO_ BLAMES RAIN*!

A civil servant in Lafia, Nasarawa State, Christopher Chori has confessed how cold weather during the rainy season made him to sleep with his mother-in-law, known as Mrs. Priscilla Kwange who came to babysit after the delivery of his new baby boy. This wrenching story has forced the father-in-law, Mr. Silvanus Kwange into lamentation on what to do with his wife who relocated from their family home in Taraba State to babysit for the son-in-law. For the seven months that Mrs. Kwange was babysitting for his son-in-law in Lafia, she did not meet or collabo with her husband.

The touching story reported in Saturday Sun followed the death after childbirth of Christopher Chori’s wife, known as Faith who is also the first daughter of Mr. Kwange. The late Faith was also Mrs. Priscilla’s step daughter as mrs Priscillia married Mr. Kwange after Faith’s mother died. Meanwhile, Priscilla’s marriage to Mr. Kwange of more than ten years has been barren. So when her step daughter, Faith died, her husband asked that she should go and babysit for Mr. Chori, a development that led to the sordid story.

As Mr. Kwange said: “It is about seven months that I have not seen her. We only talk on the phone". He continued “I know the importance of her coming to stay in Lafia for some period of time, to take care of the new born baby whose mother (who is my daughter) is late. I thought it was my own responsibility to help my son-in-law and the new baby of my late daughter. So, I allowed my own wife to come and help. Is that an offence?”

He continued “Two weeks ago, a friend ran into my wife in Lafia and called to tell me that he saw her with bulging stomach. I was speechless with shock and asked, how come? I didn’t want to believe it or confront her on the phone. She has been here since June last year. I decided to visit them to also see how the little boy is doing. I was coming with so much joy, not knowing that I was coming to meet disaster waiting for me. When I got to the house of my son-in-law, I met the shock of my life as I saw my own wife with a protruding stomach. I stood transfixed to the spot as I looked at her, trying to recall if there was any time she told me she was pregnant but I could not remember".......

........“I quickly asked my wife what happened and she broke down and confessed that Mr. Chori seduced her and they had sex and it became frequent and the result was the pregnancy. She started begging me for forgiveness. She said that she actually allowed him to have his way as a way of checking her Fertility Status and it turned out to be this way and that she refused to abort it because She Has Spent 10 Solid Years with me without a child. She said it is almost getting late as she is no longer getting younger"....

......“She pleaded with me not to cause her any embarrassment or disgrace by exposing her to ridicule and shame. She actually begged me to handle the matter in a mature way, but I’m yet to get out of the shock seeing my own wife impregnated by my own son-in-law. My anger knows no bounds. If it were during my days as a military man, I would have used my gun to kill the two of them, but if I do that now, I will be taking the law into my hands. What I will do now is to go back to Taraba. I have asked my wife not to come back to my house. As for Christopher Chori, I leave him to his conscience.”

His son-in-law, Chori on his part said:
“After the death and burial of my wife, my mother-in-law came to stay with me here in Lafia, to help look after the baby because my mother is no longer alive; she died many years ago. I work with one of the federal government agencies in Lafia. My younger sister who is equally staying with me is in SS2 and could not combine her studies with taking care of the baby. So my father-in-law asked his wife to come because his first wife who happens to be my real mother-in-law is late"......

......“I live in two-bedroom apartment. So when she came to take care of the baby with the assistance of my younger sister, I left one of the rooms for them to use while I stay in the other room but I come home regularly to check on them and to ensure that she does not lack anything especially when my younger sister is out in school".....

......“In the first one month of her stay with me, nothing happened but during the second month, which was July 2019, something happened that left me with so much guilty feelings. My sister went to school. I did not go to work that day, leaving me and my mother-in-law alone in the house. It rained the previous night all through and the weather was very cold. I was checking on them in their room to see how my newborn baby was doing. But when I opened the door, I was shocked to see my mother-in-law almost naked as she wore only lingerie with no underwear. I could clearly see the outline of her firm breasts and her private part"....

......“I tried to turn back but she said I should come in. When I hesitated, she walked up to me and grabbed me, asking me why I was behaving like a small boy. She asked whether she was not looking attractive to me. I told her I could not do what she had in mind with her as I saw her as my own mother as well as mother-in-law".....

.....“But she disabused my mind and insisted that I must sleep with her. As a human being, I fell for the temptation and slept with her that day, and somehow it continued at any given opportunity. It became a daily routine as I was not going to work regularly. As soon as my sister leaves for school and the boy is able to sleep, we would stay indoors and have sex all day and it later resulted in pregnancy but she refused to abort it"....

.......“She said she has been longing for a child of her own. I cannot but blame myself for falling into such a temptation but then the deed has been done. I feel very bad because there is no way my father-in-law would thump his chest and claim to be the owner of the pregnancy because she has spent some months in my house and she missed her period while staying here, not in her husband’s house. I’m confused at the moment. I don’t know what to do but the days ahead will surely bring a solution to this embarrassing situation."

Priscilla’s Justification:

“I’m not proud of myself because apart from being a housewife, the victim is my son-in-law. My reason for teasing him was to test my fertility status since there was a golden opportunity and sticking to my husband in the past ten years has not yielded any result. I wanted to be sure of where the problem lies. Unfortunately, I took in. It was a wrong decision but I didn’t want to take the risk of aborting the baby as it may not come my way again".....

........"Although, I didn’t want it made public, my husband has succeeded in exposing it. I admit I am guilty of allowing my son-in-law to impregnate me but I was also considering my condition, even though I never expected pregnancy to come. But since it has come, I will want to keep it even if he decides to push me out of his house, I can’t afford to die childless.” END OF STORY!

Care to judge dis matter my dear friends? Who is to be blamed here? Mr Husband who sent pretty young wifey to do 'Omugwo'? D Pretty barren Wifey who has been childless for 10 yrs? D Son in Law whose wife died nd needs 'collabo' so bad? The Wicked Rain nd Shameless Bad Weather? Or The Devil who brought temptation??

[quote author=SendoSendal post=89888128]Beautiful writeup. However, inspite of all the measures put in place by ISON, how come one infected staff was able to infect over 78 co-staffs? That is a very high rate of strong community transmission that could only have been possible in a closed environment. The ISON cases can be the game changer for Covid 19 cases in Oyo State. The 78 infected staffs could have infected 10 people each and that is 780. If those 780 people infects 10 each, your guess is as good as mine. *AN OPEN LETTER TO HIS EXCELLENCY, GOVERNOR OLUSEYI MAKINDE WITH RESPECT TO iSON XPERIENCES*

I was in Minna, Niger State, serving my fatherland, when I heard that you emerged governor of the prestigious Pace Setter state- my home and I was so elated, having found you more prospective to govern. Even before rounding off my service year, I already had a job in Minna but I yearned to work under your administration, as I presume it holds bulk of promises. Two months after passing out, I relocated to Ibadan, where I reside with my grandmother.

Unfortunately, since my entry in January 2020, I couldn't get any promising job. I did turn down three unpromising ones anyway and decided to volunteer as a teacher with Queen's School, Apata, in a bid to give back to my society rather than working with private schools, most of which specialize in sapping and exploiting their employees. Incidentally, TESCOM form came out and I applied in the stream of hundred thousand of other aspiring applicants, while only ten thousand were going to be employed anyway. This gives credibility to the fact that only those who either "bribe their way through or have connections" will get the job. But I decided to trust in your integrity to bring about an above-board selection, based on merit. So I waited, before the outbreak of the novel virus disrupted even plans yet to be conceived, as those earmarked have been put on hold.

It is noteworthy to reinstate the fact that I live with my grandmother who is a retired principal, to whom I constitute a liability despite graduating with a very good grade before I decided to use the remains of my NYSC proceeds to start yam flour(elubo) business, which I still do with pride. Coincidentally, I got privileged to work with iSON, on a part-time basis of course, which accords me the opportunity to attend to my business in the day time as the work runs between 7pm to 12am.

Having foregrounded the forgone, I hereby write to formally emphasize some core indicators to the fact that the company does not deserve the condemnation and crucifixion the media and the populace are meting at it. About three weeks ago, I noticed that the number of calls we pick at work has drastically reduced. Prior to that time, we do pick almost sixty thousand calls daily, but subsequently, it diminished to about ten thousand, which provoked curiosity amidst us all. We were later informed that the company, has in an attempt to curb the effect of the pandemic, consequently, made provision for some of our colleagues to work from home, while others were asked to go on leaves. Personally, my daily inbound calls were about a hundred and fifty within the duration of my five-hour shift, before things fell out of normalcy. Just before the closure, my calls were not even up to forty and I could not help wondering with my mind wandering for answers as to what was going on.

Sir, I beg your indulgence to consider objectively the situation at hand, as against the sentiment with which others besiege the occurrence. It is no news that the pandemic is a global disaster, which no one can boast of swift adaptation; not even the developed countries, let alone private organizations.

I was listening to the news on radio yesterday and they mentioned how we usually get ourselves congested in the buses that convey us to and fro the office, which I affirm but I am embattled within as to why humans only point out the demerits of others, leaving out the meritorious and commendable. Do we expect the company to instantaneously, fully adapt to such a spontaneous misfortune? Yes, many obviously do, but in reality, it was never feasible.

Even your admirable administration had to put a stop to the activities of the public servants at a time and have them resume later when the necessary precautions were put in place, all in a bid to curtail the spread of this undefined, ravaging virus, which I commend. However, you'll agree to the essentiality of the telecommunication sector and so, we could not lock-up, hence the seemingly slow pace at which we were adapting to the situation as alleged by the media. But that has no iota of truth. Our temperatures are regularly checked before entrance into the office, after which, we wash our hands with soap under running water. Alongside, was a regular supply of alcohol-based hand sanitizers placed at strategic locations within the premises. Biometrics machines through which attendance status were captured before the outbreak, have all been disabled. Needless to say, the company gave every of its employee nose mask, which everyone was using compulsorily. About not maintaining social distance, I honestly do not understand what else needed to be done: in a row that normally accommodated twelve agents, is having five not considerable enough?

Fundamentally, I was awed at the consequential response of the company, which in a bid to adhere strictly to safety measures, rented a big hall, with spacious bed spaces, on the first floor of the building, bought mattresses and fans, which as expected, the media decided to turn a blind eye at, owing to their determination to dent the charming image of the company, by amassing false information. The cost of all these miscellaneous expenditures, I supposed, was enough to arouse some humane feelings in the media. But I was wrong. By the virtue of their profession, the media are supposed to uphold fairness and only disseminate the truth to the general public. But their response to this situation, which defines propaganda, contradicts the tenets they profess.

Permit me to analyze the necessary adaptation the company had to incorporate, part of which, considering their urgency, it had begun: provision of systems and other accessories for agents to work from home. The reason the company cannot afford to have all its employees work from home at the moment, is because of supervision, which you will agree with me, may not be effective considering the nature of the job. Some agents may not work, but eccentrically carry out their shifts, to the detriment of the company. So the company debuted working-from-home anyway just to decongest the call centre environment. Before things were blown out of proportion, the company was planning on having more employees work from home.Shall we skip the cost of these unprecedentedly planned accessories as well as daily allowances paid to these set of employees?

When I gaze at my colleagues, I see potential criminals, prostitutes, fraudsters, kidnappers to mention a few, but for iSON Xperiences. Shall we then cut the head to ameliorate the pain we feel?

But for the constraint of time, I will have related to you all the stigmatization, which we have been subjected to at the devouring hands of many. Nevertheless, permit me to highlight a few: spouses of our employees are told that all the workers at iSON have been declared positive so they need to stay away from work without pay! Do they even think about the effect of such pseudo allegation?

Hospitals aren't attending to our employees or their family members at the moment because of how the media is painting the entire situation; same as obvious refusal to allow iSON employees into banks and supermarkets around the Ibadan north-west area.

I implore you, believing in your discretion, to tender justice not only with mercy but also fairness. Someone on the news was saying, "The government should sue the company..." on what premise? I wonder if he would have made that same unwarranted comment if he were in the itching shoes of the company. I prefer not to point out the fact that the media correspondents have twisted the situation into some sensational news piece garnished with false information, authorities who came to interview the company, were actually not wearing masks or any other recommended precautionary kits (kindly, check with the pictures online). What a contradiction to what they are advocating!

stigmatization in the form of libellous and scandalous information cannot bring about the victory we hope for. I implore you and the reading audience not to treat us like Osu(outcast); it kills more than any virus.

As I close, I believe you will see beyond the allegations agog the media and objectively handle this issue as you have always done.

To this end, I have a poem to define this stigmatization:

*The Coroner Hasn't Declared Corona!*

Not certain of our status,
Yet in good hope.
But your fuss,
Our fear aggravates
And nomalcy, symptoms seem.
We felt our heart throbbing
But they say, "praying are we"
Why pronounce guilty before diagnosis?
Why label us a predator
Of your voracious allegations?
Perchance, the negator wins
And means avail,
We shall isolate from you
To skip touching stories.

PLEASE HELP STOP THIS STIGMATISATION - IT KILLS FASTER THEN THE VIRUS

*Ayo.*
Jobs/VacanciesRe: I Need A Honest Person For A Job In Ibadan - N20,000 Per Month. by Damiakande: 3:13pm On May 20, 2020
Oodua25:
NEED A HONEST PERSON FOR A JOB IN IBADAN - N20,000
It is site work, you will be recording videos of materials delivered to site, and material used on site. The only qualification you need is HONESTY. It is a short contract job for about 5 or 6 months, depending on the length of construction.

Please leave your telephone number if interested and I will contact you.

NB- I forgot to add that I will also be providing transport allowance on weekly basis (6 days per week). The current worker who I am looking to replace is getting transport allowance in addition to monthly wage. Ideally, I am looking for someone who lives not too far from the site to reduce transport costs. But all of this will be discussed when i contact everyone via whatsapp.

Thanks
