You are wrong! The constitution says the moment Senate President 'RECIEVES' the recall letter from INEC Chairman Dino ceases to be a Senator.
Which Constitution are you reading, is it the one from Chad republic? I am asking because a community reading of section 68 & 69 is to the effect that the Senate must be satisfied that due process was followed and the Senate President will give effect to INEC certificate.

U r wrong ab initio, read sec. 251(1)(q)(r)and(s) and sec. 252(1) aslo sec 272, a community reading of these sections will disabuse ur mind especially d provisio to sec.272(1). I will not have that time to engage in a legal argument wid a student that can't learn.
Calling me a student is foolishness taken too far. How old are you at the Bar, that is only if you are a lawyer?

Like I said, section 251 and 252 has nothing to do with defamation of character. Defamation of character is a tortuous action and the Federal High Court has no jurisdiction over defamation of character.

So you mean, if an employee of EFCC is dismissed wrongly and he wants to institute action against EFCC, he must institute it at the FHC or the NIC?

Come and register in my tutorial classes, I will take you on Constitutional Law regarding civil jurisdiction of our Courts.

Read the celebrated case of Endegbero, NDIC and their likes.

Again, I totally disagree with u that 'the subject matter of a suit determines the jurisdiction of court' it is the statutes and d enabling laws that confers jurisdiction on courts, in this case, the constitution of Nigeria, 1999 as altered. A party to an action with the FG or any of its agencies, Fed. High Court has jurisdiction to adjudicate, just as in this case. The matter is death on arrival. It is an elementary principle of law.
You are not a lawyer and if you are, you are going to be a very bad lawyer. FHC has no jurisdiction over defamation matters where it is the main claim. I do more of defamation of character matters and currently have like 6 pending matters on defamation.

The jurisdiction of the FHC is conferred on it by section 251 of the Constitution and other enabling Acts. Can you tell me one case of defamation as the main relief that was heard at the FHC?

Well, not all lawyers know what they are doing, I once witnessed at the Lagos Magistrate Court, Igbosere where a lawyer filed an action for recovery of professional fees. The Defendant lawyer never entered appearance until judgement was given where the case was dismissed. The magistrate lambasted the lawyer who ignorantly instituted an action at the wrong court.

Take for instance, if you Secondus lawyer, you would've instituted the action at the FHC?

Recently, the Abuja High Court struck out a fundamental rights proceedings for want of jurisdiction because the Nigerian Police is involved and I was like, what is wrong with some if our judges. This is not minding the fact that the law says "High Court" without State of FHC. Indeed, we knew why she did that, it was a political judgement since it was filed by the "our Mumu Don Do" campaigners vide their Council, Inibehe.

You are a good example if such judges.

Where was Livingstone Wichie of integrity group sued by Amaechi for libel and defamation of character and where was Patience Jonathan sued FG libel and harassment since it's a civil matter and Federal high court lacks jurisdiction as you stated. Uche Secondus went to Rivers high court controlled by Wike and PDP to seek cheap judgement let's see if any judgement from there will amount to any thing. You want to sue federal government to a state court, it's tussle for leadership not a civil matter why didn't PDP go to Rivers high court then but rather approached Federal high court Port Harcourt. Though I am not a lawyer but I don't need a legal knowledge to know that Secondus went to the wrong court just to seek cheap judgement and redeem his battered image. State high court admits defamation no doubt but Secondus ought to have approached FHC since he's sueing Minister of the federal government. I can as well sue someone that resides in PH in Biu Borno state where I know a judge for a civil matter since the court in Biu Borno has jurisdiction also. Let Secondus approach an Abuja FHC or FHC PH then we can take him serious, FG might not respond to Rivers high court.
The matters you are naming are that of infringement of their rights to dignity of human person and in such cases, you can claim other reliefs as far as they are not the main claim.

Federal High Court has no jurisdiction over defamation matters where they are the main reliefs. Stop exposing your ineptness to the whole world.

The moment i saw Rivers state high court i knew Uche Secondus is guilty of Lai looters list and wants people to think he's innocent by going to court for libel. The appropriate court for him to go is Federal high court, have you seen where EFCC charged a crime suspect to a state high court instead of a federal high court. It's like taking electoral matter to a state high court. Federal government accused you of looting and have charged you to a federal high court in Abuja some time in 2016. Why didn't PDP approach a state high court in PH during their Sheriff tussle but went to a PH federal high court

I have asked people like you to reason well or ask questions. Secondus is not facing any criminal charge before any Court in Nigeria. He took them to Court and won the case against them for infringement on his right.

I understand that well enough but he wasn't the only one and if he is to be found guilty he stands to loose more meanwhile others that were in the list of looters are not cowards they are probably waiting for the right time to act...

I strongly do not believe that in his current position that he has a clean slate...

Let him not act extempore
If you have a case, take him to Court and stop this madness. He is not facing any financial crime action and you published his name as a looter.

Are you guys insane to reason this way? Not insult but a simple question.

Politics / Drama As PDP Senators Call APC ‘all Progressives Crisis’ by DamiBukola: 12:50pm On Feb 28, 2018
There was a mild drama at the Senate on Tuesday over the National Executive Council meeting of the All Progressives Congress held in Abuja.

Members of the minority Peoples Democratic Party mocked the APC over the current crises in the ruling party at the national level and in some states.

The Majority Leader, Senator Ahmad Lawan, had moved that the plenary be adjourned for the APC NEC meeting.

Lawan said, “Today, the All Progressives Congress, the ruling party, the APC, is holding its NEC meeting and it has already started. As a very time-conscious party, our colleague senators on this side (majority) are representatives of the chamber, and because of this I want to plead with all our colleagues here across party lines to show the understanding just as we had shown understanding when the minority party, the PDP senators have to go for congresses or whatever.

“Based on this, Mr. President, very distinguished colleagues, I move that we stand down all the items on the Order Paper to another legislative day, to enable our colleagues to attend the NEC meeting of the ruling party, I so move.”

While saying this, the PDP senators chorused, ‘All Progressives Crisis,’ forcing Lawan to pause and called for ‘protection’ from the Deputy President of the Senate, Ike Ekweremadu, who presided over the plenary.

Seconding the motion, the Deputy Minority Leader, Emmanuel Bwacha, said, “Before I second the motion, I want to join my colleagues from the other side sincerely and wish them safe landing. The number of policemen we have is short because of the crises. I don’t how many we will dispatch there to supervise (the meeting). So, Mr. President, having advised as such, I pray that there will be a safe landing
