Hey guys, I want to apply to Wrexham University, asides the fact that their tuition is affordable, they also offer advanced practice for my program. The issue (not sure it's an issue yet anyways) now is they are a really low ranked university. My question is will it matter when trying to get jobs?
I'm just spitballing but maybe employers would have reservations about giving jobs (skilled worker's visa) to graduates from such universities??...
Then also, I'll appreciate any other review about the university

I sincerely need your assistance to clarify this issue: I made my payment to WES on the 27th of September, and LASU sent my transcript on the 4th of October. However, as of the 8th of October, my WES dashboard still showed the status as "Awaiting transcript." I emailed WES to inform them that my school had sent the transcript, and on the 9th of October, I checked again. The status had changed to "On hold."

I mailed again relied In their response, WES confirmed that all documents required for my evaluation had been received. I also uploaded my M.Sc. certificate on the 26th of September and re-uploaded it on the 17th of October 2024.

Please kindly assist me, as I am confused about the status of my evaluation.

Hello, there’s no need to be confused as WES has said they have received all the documents they require to do an evaluation for you. Once the evaluation is complete, you will get an email confirming that your evaluation is complete. WES evaluation can take some time, I’d advise patience.

Most UK bank letters aren’t stamped and signed, so I used a bank statement from my bank in Nigeria.

Please one more thing, can someone help me with a very reliable link to prepare for my IELTS exams or any good resource materials.

With the IELTS, these are the tips I can share from my recent experience.

1. Use the British council preparation materials, I noticed they are a bit complex than the real test, but it prepares you well for the test day. I used it specifically for my Reading and listening. During the mock exams I had bad reading scores like 6.5 or 7 the highest I got was 8. On the real test I maxed out the reading and had a 9. Had 8.5 in my listening on the real test.

2. For the almighty writing, I will suggest you pay tutors to assess your writing and give you feedback. I did this and it helped me. I used E2 prep and paid about £60 for three writing assessments (writing task 1 and 2). It was a total of 6 assessments and I only used 4 because of my busy schedule. Had a 7 writing as against 6.5 in my earlier take in 2020. Still thinking if I should remark and increase it to the max of 7.5.

3. I have no tip at all for the speaking, as I didn’t prepare for it. Had a 7.5. I can suggest YouTube videos for speaking tips and likely topics.

Please do i need to worry about this. I provided POF of 13m for my cas to be issued but after that i applied for visa and i removed 1.2m to process the visa with priority. Now my POF is left with 11.8m. Do i need to be botherd. Kind response is appreciated

You should only be bothered if the 11.8m is lower than the required funds( tuition balance+ living costs).

The real test is not hard at all. My strategy for READING was to attempt section 1 first, then section 3 and lastly section 2. I used this strategy during my practice and had already mastered it before the examination. I spent about 40mins on section 3 because it's the most tough section and it contains a lot of technical jargons. I used just about 15 minutes on both section 1 and 2. At the end of the day, its all about what works best for you. Had a 7.5 in reading but I fell I could have scored better if I went through my answers before the end of the test.

Just practice, practice and practice. Best of luck

The latest information I got is that, the e-transcript option is no more available. I did mine when the lockdown was strict and when the airports were closed. I guess that's why they sent the e-copy. I hope this helps.

I sent my transcript from Funaab too but mine was course by course. Funaab is capable of sending e-transcript from the registrar directly to WES and the cost is 12000 naira instead Of the conventional 33000. Finally, verification is free in Funaab. I hope this helps
