Hello fellow Nigerian Undergraduates and other Nairaland users.
This will serve as the CHATROOM FOR NAIRALAND INTERSCHOOL DEBATE as well as the Planning thread for all subsequent NISDebate.

Historically, Nairaland Interschool Debate was an offshot of the Inaugural Nairaland Education Debate (NED) which brided on October 21st 2013, During the period, the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) strike had kept students at home for three months running then.
The progenitor of the Debate sessions in the Education section of Nairaland Fynestboi, who is also the moderator of the Section, under the guidance of Nairaland notable and prominent personell (Jarus(, Tgirl4real, Obinoscopy) began actively planning a platform where students (undergraduates) from different tertiary (Polythecnic, University, College of Education, Technology schools) can meet and challenge their intellectual prowess under the umbrella of their citadel.
Much to the midas touch of the owner of Nairaland Seun Osewa and the unrelenting effort of all coordinators, the planning of the debate kicked off in earnest on October 31st 2013 and lasted through November, However topics were suggested by debaters and the topics cut accross all sections on here, (family, technology, politics, etc).



THE INTERSCHOOL DEBATE
This debate is for all schools in Nigeria, mainly universities, polytechnics and colleges of education. Each school will be represented by their students here on Nairaland


In an era, when the internet is synonymous with scams and fraud, it gladden my heart to see the 'future leaders' coming together and forming a bond that exists beyond the e-world in order to improve and impact the society positively. This debates is coming at the appropriate time when we continue to have a decline in the reading and writing habit of our youth, this we believe his our little way of re-orientating society about the important and benefits of positive criticism through debating.


To the Judges, I thank you for volunteering to work on this project considering your other offline schedules, I implore you to do your best, as we can't possibly satisfy everybody, just do as your conscience is dictates.


To the contestants, you are the focal point of this projects, educating and informative arguments is what we expects from you, don't see this as a 'do or die' affairs, play by the rule and at the end of the day, we will all be happy to be part of this laudable projects.

The debate is a competition to challenge our abilities and develop our intellectual capacities. It is for all to learn and not for strifing or sentimental bias.

lunch together at a restaurant in Surulere.
While in the middle of their meal, a fly came in
through the window. It flew across the table
to where the Igbo man was but he just

was, he also chased it away.
Finally, the fly then went to where the Chinese
man was and was flying close to his ears. The
Chinese man looked at the fly for sometime
and then grabbed it, put it in his mouth and
swallowed it.
The other men saw this but just kept on
eating.
About Five minutes later, another fly came in
and flew to the Yoruba man who just chased
it away again.
It then flew on to the Igbo man but this time
he did not chase the fly, he looked at it for
sometime and then grabbed it. He then

The story that is behind little Oratilwe Hlongwane aka DJ Arch Junior, a three-year-old DJ who has taken South Africa and the whole continent by storm.

Arch's career started out with his father Glen sharing a few videos of him on the decks on Facebook and through social media he became an instant hit.

Arch has since entered SA's Got Talent and over the past month the young man walked away with the R500 000 prize money and products from Avon and Celltone worth R35 000.

Like always, the world will always question ones achievements and social media was quick to claim that Arch had cheated on the final episode of the show by saying that his audio cables were not connected to the mixing deck. In addition to that some people made accusations that he was playing a pre-recorded mix on the show.

Destiny magazine shares that e.TV publicist Michael Pocock has rubbished all the claims and assures audiences that Arch's talent is legitimate.

"The photo that has been making the rounds on social media does not show the full technical setup of DJ Arch's performance, which took place at Soweto Theatre on the 8th of November 2015 in the finale of SA's Got Talent," he said also adding that the audio cables were connected via the laptop and not the controller.

"There were two laptops on the stage, which DJ Arch Jnr was consistently watching. The one laptop has the DJ software on it, which plays the songs, and the other laptop has a countdown system which cues DJ Arch Jnr. The controller in front of him has a black USB cable connected to the laptop, which is feeding into it," he says.

There you have it folks, there was no cheating involved. Well we guess everyone should just suck it up that a 3-year-old may be richer than the majority of the kids in this country.
