The USB Type C port on most latest laptops are not just faster but also embedded with many functions especially when it is a Thunderbolt port.

The Thunderbolt port can serve and not limited to the following:
1. Traditional connections of external devices like phones, tablets, external storage etc. at the highest transfer rate better than previous USB standards.
2. Additional port for power input for the laptop
3. Connect external GPU to the laptop
4. Connect to external display at the highest frequency and frame rate possible. More powerful than HDMI and DisplayPort.

Importantly, the Type C port when fully implemented (i.e Thunderbolt) is like a swiss army knife of connection port on laptops and other mobile techs.

However, you have to note that not all USB Type Cs are thunderbolt ports on laptops.

Is your phone Global Version or Chinese Version with Global ROM installed.

MTN uses band 7 and 20. Band 7 is present on both Chinese and Global Version but Band 20 is present only on the Global Version.

So if you use the CN RN7 and you are in a location with only band 20 deployed am sorry you won't get MTN 4G.

Switch your device to LTE Only and see. Sometimes you can't trust all these network operators messages
