Actually you ran your mouth not me. I came here for gentleman's brawl but you had to do that agbero thingie. Na wa ohhhhhh.
Na lie, you ran your mouth into 8 pages!

for(int i=1;i<9;i++) {
stdOut('I just dey run my mouth, page '+i);
}
Something like that, get the drift?

first time a programming thread spawned 8 pages, in many years,it has to be because some body ran his mouth and didnt know when to stop!
But we must give the OP credit, he is the best programmer on nairaland when it comes to running his mouth. Imagine, running his mouth into 8 pages? I have never seen it happen before since all my years on nairaland.

Well many people dont read the whole thread, they read the last few statements, make assumptions and start a fight(for whatever reason i dont know).

If you had wits you should have entered the challenge first. The rules of this thread were clearly stated. @dhtml18 will provide a task and i would provide a solution and vice versa. The only input from others was to review what each of us wrote down and make comments. But because people like you go around looking for fight were they are not called, the thread degenerated into a free for all and thus missed the entire process in which it was meant for learning and not controversy. Well i congratulate for becoming an agent of backwardness.
If that was true, why did you do so many rants and derail the thread before dhtml18 joined the thread? So any bashing that you get is your own fault.

I am sure that everyone that visited this thread were shocked that the OP till this point has nothing to backup his coding since 1998 in all known programming languages, really painful especially with all the bragado.
Programming / Re: The Greatest Programmer On Nairaland by DanielTheGreek(m): 6:52pm On Feb 25, 2016
I think the OP is very busy quickly creating some github projects to save his very great reputation as master!
Programming / Re: The Greatest Programmer On Nairaland by DanielTheGreek(m): 5:58pm On Feb 25, 2016
where is the OP now? I know he cannot have committed suicide, he will soon come and clear the coding challenge fast-fast to save his 1998 reputation.

hmmmm, have gone through all the comments . . . From my own point of view seunthomas is more experience and a better programmer than Dhtml in the real programming world, I think Dhtml should respect that fact and pipe real low for him or be degraded more.

Meanwhile, Dhtml maybe a good mentors to some young or upcoming programmers here in NL but I will strongly advise him to should stop talking to much, attacking people or degrading people and their work as if he is a perfect dude. Dhtml have ruthlessly attack me in the past but I don't have his time @ cha.

More so just recently, for e.g. you can see Dhtml comment on https://www.nairaland.com/2922744/please-criticize-it-condemn-it ; your comment there "@op, when making a post like this, do not start putting stuffs like - you are the lead programmer of the project.
While that may be impressive to some NOOBS, some people like myself and some others will automatically expect to see great and mighty things, and when we don't, we start murdering the project." is totally uncalled for; are you killing kiddosolomon spirit or encouraging him to improve the project compare to guru01 simple and mature criticism there.

We should all learn how to appreciate, support and encourage people and their works; stop degrading people and their work to remain the BOSS here.

Peace to all real and passionate programmers in da house.
Excuse me, the guy claimed to be a lead programmer (which means he is the top programmer of his team).

And dhtml made a very excellent review for the dude:

dhtml18:
@op, when making a post like this, do not start putting stuffs like - you are the lead programmer of the project.
While that may be impressive to some NOOBS, some people like myself and some others will automatically expect to see great and mighty things, and when we don't, we start murdering the project.

While the interface looks good at first glance, at second glance, I can see that you have made some bad judgements on some aspects:
1. The font size and color in some places are not appropriate.
2. When i reduce my browser to a resolution like 700 x 600px (using my eyes to measure), the scrollbar dissappears and there is no way to get to the bottom anymore.
3. You have broken a basic website-design rule. The logo of a website should link to the home-page, and NEVER TO REGISTRATION/SIGNUP PAGE.
4. From the registration/login/forgot password, there is no freaking way to return back to the homepage.
5. And please, the title of the page should be NEVER be "FORGOTTEN PASSWORD". You need to watch your grammar please.
6. Your facebook login does not work - a technical glitch maybe
7. I believe that "Signup with facebook" should actually be "Sign-in with Facebook".
8. You might wanna rewrite "SignUp with your Email" as "Sign Up with your Email"/"Sign up with your Email"
9. themes/default/imgs/logo.png returns a 404 error on the people's directory.
10. Has 0 friends look somehow funny to me, why not just 0 friends?
11. Why are you using un-seo friendly links like /section/s:termsofuse ?
12. The padlock logo on the right side of http://www.mitraspace.com/section/s:termsofuse highlights as Register, but when clicked goes to the homepage the way the logo is meant to behave - as i explained in point 3.
13. The responsiveness of the site get k-leg.
14. Some javaScript errors occured, please test properly in all major browsers.
15. For speed, try to put your javaScript after your page contents.

Chai, i don tire. . . . . . . . . .all in all, a very good attempt.

How is that a crime again? You are just not being truthful.

You have to take it easy on him. He probably only knows python and some php. And that he probably learnt from youtube videos rather than books (books delve into theory).

This kind of question would be too 'sciency' for him. Don't mind his yapping about coding since '98.

O no, he claims that he is an expert in all programming languages, he shall solve this problem in a matter of minutes.

@OP, even with all your rantings, you have exposed yourself to the whole world that you are a fake. And despite coding since 1998, you have no available side projects - other than rants (and some copy and paste stuffs).
No github account too for that matter? odikwa serious.

you just yap for yapping sake.
Dyu stop in your rant to think of what you say?
You challenge dhtml to a fight. Insult those who step in.
Spew technical crap, when busted, you resort to name calling and diversionary tactics.
You challenge opposers to a coding duel but now you're saying that you don't consider yourself to be the best bla bla.
You're bloated with the fart off pride. You say learn of me, what really is there in all your post to learn from? Tell me?
Even if some1 took up your challenge what code will you write in 1 hour that will showcase the breadth of your prowess?
Dyu really think?

Programming / Re: Setting Up Database For Huge Sites by DanielTheGreek(m): 6:01am On Feb 08, 2016
DanielTheGeek:
I wish my co-developer (Backend Tools and Services) Shedrach was here, he would have been in the best position to answer this question..

I will provide you with some links instead of "talking too much"..

https://confluence.atlassian.com/jira/tuning-database-connections-288657160.html
http://kb.tableau.com/articles/knowledgebase/database-query-performance
...

Well, let me just talk small sha,

Using a single connection for multiple statements reduces the overhead of establishing multiple connections while giving way for multiple statements to access the database, using this method of connection management means the app probably has to wait to run a statement until the single connection is available making it your app load very slow depending on the amount of users you have.. this is okay for a website with a small amount of users.

The solution you are searching for is how to design connections that support thousands of concurrent database users and promoting high perormance.

For example, let's say we have;
1. An environment including a middle tier that must support 20 to 100 concurrent database users, and performance is key. CPU and memory are plentiful on both the middle tier and database server.
2. an Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server, Sybase, or DB2 database
3. an application uses ODBC, JDBC, or ADO.NET APIs
4. 25 licenses for connections to the database server.

There are three possible solutions that my brain can produce;

Solution 1: Use a single connection with 5 to 25 statements.
Solution 2: Use a connection pool with a maximum of 5 connections, each with 5 statements.
Solution 3: Use a connection pool with a maximum of 20 connections, each with a single statement.

The most important information in this example is the ample CPU and memory on both the middle tier and database server and the ample number of licenses to the database server. The other information is really irrelevant to the design of the database connections.

Since we need high performance, Solution 3 is the best solution because it supports the processing of one statement per connection (all the statements can access the database at the same time)

Solution 1 and 2 won't solve our problem (Performance) because it supports a single connection for multiple statements, think of 400,000 people passing through a little door... these methods will slower results for users (Bad UX)

There are other important things to look into, like Transaction Management..e.t.c.
My 'twins brother' has spoken!
