Lol @nohomo. It's i-134 and not i-864.

i-864 is filled in Family Based Immigration Petition (which yours is not) and also in Adjustment of Status Application. i-134 is filled in K1 Visa Application Process.

Those USCIS guys are not usually very helpful on the phone. Especially at this RFE stage of your application.
plenty gratitude ... God bless you

I really don't know if a notarized letter can serve as evidence of financial support. But I know the form i134 (Affidavit of Support) is a document that confirms financial support. Her mum can fill the form i134 and give to her to submit. In addition to the filled form i134, she can also attach a cover letter explaining that her mum will be your cosponsor. That's my advice.
Thanks legit, i love you! no homo intended, I should hv private chat u but i want others to learn from my experience too, please we are still confused about the form to fill, is it I-864 or I-134, My fiancée called Uscis nd she’s not sure which of them because both says affinity of sponsorship...

Its surprising they are requesting for evidence of financial support now. I thought they usually request for such during the interview stage.

Well since they asked, I think your fiance can fill the form i134 and attach relevant documents (like bank statement, pay stubs, tax returns, employmwnt letter, etc) along with it. If she doesnt make up to 125% if the poverty level then she'll also need a cosponsor.

Expenses you guys have made on each other can help too
Seriously, i am surprised and confused at same time, my fiancée doesn’t make up the 125% in her current job.. she was suggesting her mom writes a letter of sponsorship and notarized it. Do you think that will serve as evidence of sponsorship’ since it’s more like an oat that she will be our sponsor ? Or which form will she fill as sponsor

Hello guys, awesome job in keeping the page alive,
A quick one, We got a RFE requesting for further evidence, please, does anyone understand what they mean by “evidence of financial support”? I am confused as to how who should provide the financial support and will letter to this effect suffice or they need bank statements? @legictBachelor and other gurus, your input is highly welcomed. Thanks

I think you can get your police report even if you're not in Nigeria. I will look for the link and post here.

You need. you must provide a police certificate for each country where you lived for a period of six months. The only exception is the United States if you have previously lived here or are currently living here.
FROM… AND… THEN YOU NEED A POLICE CERTIFICATE FROM…
- the country of nationality if you resided there for more than 6 months are 16 years old or older the police authorities of that locality.
- the country of current residence (if different from nationality) if you resided there for more than 6 months were 16 years or older at that time the police authorities of that locality.
- any previous country or countries of residence if residing there for more than 12 months were 16 years or older at that time the police authorities of that locality.
- any country where arrested for any reason, regardless of how long you lived there were any age at that time the police authorities from place of arrest.

Oh, thanks. That was helpful and God bless, will keep the house posted as I progress in the process. Let’s keep the house moving

LegitBachelor:
212(a)(4) is given if they think you cannot take care of yourself financially when they give you the Visa.

This won't be a problem for K1 Visa as long as your fiancee is working and earning a living wage. She Will be your Sponsor. She can even get someone else to join as a co-sponsor. So you are good if that's the case.

PS:
Below is a breakdown of the different 212(a) denials:
212(a)(4) - denial due to Inadequate Financial Support
212(a)(6)(C)(i) - denial due to Fraud and Misrepresentation
212(a)(9)(B)(i) - Denial due to Unlawful Stay in the US

I am not too sure right now as i left all the documents back home, however I think it’s 212(a)(4)

LegitBachelor:
Please clarify what section of 212a were you issued.

There are three I am aware of:

212(a)(4)
212(a)(6)(C)(i)
212(a)(9)(B)(i)

Congratulations @legit, thanks for this thread and i want to rent a space on it. I am a potential applicant and here is my short story;
I and my fiancée meet before she travelled in 2012 and now she is a citizen. I applied to visit in 2015 but was denied. She however visited in 2016 and spent 3wks and also in mid 2017 and spent 6wks. Now I applied again late 2017 on F1 category twice was denied in the last event i was issued 212a after been place on administrative process for 1wk, fastward to 2018, I applied for german student visa nd it was approved of which am currently in Germany. Again my fiancée have also visited me in last December 2018 and visited france together in same 2018. Now my challenge is the 212a that i was issued in my last application. Do you think that will be a challenge in my case? Any useful input will be highly appreciated, viele danke(many thanks )
