You've actually said my mynd, this phone according what have read is GOOD yes! Well I trust TECNO for moderate price

They should please maintain that on this too

Excellent all round phone. Beautiful shape and design. Hope the price will be moderate.

The specs are almost the same but the gap of the battery is much and a great advantage for Pop 4.

Now to me it's not really much about the price when you compare it.

TECNO Mobile added a new smartphone to the Pop series. This time around it is the Pro version of the TECNO Pop 4. This move was expected since they released an upper version of the Pop 3 also, even though it is a named TECNO Pop 3 Plus. This new TECNO Pop 4 Pro is ideal for consumers who feel the Pop 4 is not up to threshold specs-wise. You’ll be getting a large display, better hardware and 4G LTE network for fast internet access.

Also, the new Samsung Galaxy A3 Core which is an Android Go smartphone from Samsung Mobile. It is basically the successor of the Galaxy A2 Core that debuted in 2019. The device have some areas with a significant upgrade according to Samsung.
In this post, we’ll be reviewing and comparing the TECNO Pop 4 Pro with the Samsung A3 Core.

Design and Display
The TECNO Pop 4 Pro has a visible thick chin and it features a waterdrop notch. At the back of the Pop 4 Pro is a rectangular shaped camera module, fingerprint reader, TECNO brand name and a speaker grill. The body build (back and frame) is made of premium plastic that’s somewhat shinning. The phone measures 167.11 × 77.58 × 9.5 mm in dimensions and is available in Black and Gold body colours.
It has a TFT LCD display panel which measures 6.52-inch with an 81% screen-to-body ratio. The display features a 540 x 1200 pixels resolution, 20:9 aspect ratio and 189 PPI density. Protecting the TFT LCD display is a 2.5D curved glass while the Galaxy A3 Core comes in an eye-catching stripe design body build and gives you the option of picking from its sleek colours – Red, Black and Blue. The phone measures a decent 8.6mm in thickness and weighs 150 grams. The rear camera is enclosed in a module along with the LED flash and is placed at the top left corner. The position is unchanged from last year’s predecessor. The speaker grill though is moved from underneath the rear camera to the phone’s bottom.

The Samsung Galaxy A3 Core is built around a compact 5.3″ IPS LCD HD+ display with thick bezels at the top and bottom. It suits consumers who aren’t a fan of large display or widescreen. The display has a 16M colour depth and features a 720 x 1480 pixels resolution.

Hardware and Software
Under the hood of the TECNO Pop 4 Pro is a MediaTek MT6739 chipset with a Quad-Core CPU processor clocking at 1.3GHz. This is combined with a PowerVR GE8100 GPU which handles the graphics, a 1GB RAM and a 16GB internal storage. If you feel the storage is small, you can buy a microSD card for additional storage. Due to the low RAM size, this phone runs on the Go edition of Google’s Android 10 operating system while the Samsung A3 core is powered by a Quad-Core CPU processor clocking at 1.5GHz. The memory configuration of this phone is also 1GB RAM with 16GB storage, which is only good enough to run the Go edition of Google’s Android 10 operating software. There is an external memory support option of up to 512GB. The phones comes with various preinstalled Google’s Go Apps.


Camera and Battery
There are two cameras in the module at the back of this TECNO phone – an 8MP main and a 0.3MP secondary cameras. At the front, inside the waterdrop notch is an 8MP camera for taking selfies. Both the front and back cameras have a single LED flash to help in taking brightness and detailed pictures.
The Galaxy A3 Core is equipped with 8MP f/2.2 rear camera which features a digital zoom up to 4x, Auto-focus, and LED flash. You can also put the spotlight on you by using the phone’s 5MP f/2.4 front camera housed in the top bezel.
The Samsung Galaxy A3 Core packs a non-removable Li-Po 3,000 mAh battery capacity and The TECNO Pop 4 Pro packs an impressive 5,000 mAh battery capacity.

Price and Availability
The TECNO Pop 4 Pro is available in Nigeria and it retails for around N35,000 While the Samsung A3 Core sells for N32,500.

Having seen the specs and prices attached to these devices, which would you say perfectly fits a real budget beast?

Those cameras have their functions I found it annoying before I tested a macro shot and I tried to zoom a normal cam covering the cameras later on I went and read more about it and discovered there's probability of combining all in 1

that's a huge catch up for TECNO so they are not for Nigerians only

and I know they made it this far bcuz TECNO devices user friendly you'd see it everywhere bcuz it's affordable too...

TECNO Mobile has regained it top spot as Africa's Top Smartphone Brand of the year 2020 after displacing Samsung Mobile, riding on a successful launch of models in the affordable segment and continued market spending, according to Counterpoint Research’s Market Monitor service.

The Transsion brand achieved this feat against the backdrop of a 6.7% YoY fall in Africa’s smartphone shipments in 2020. Much of the damage was done in the first half of the year due to retail and supply chain disruptions caused by COVID-19, which were partially offset by a swift recovery in the second half due to pent-up demand.

Speaking on the market dynamics, Senior Analyst Yang Wang said, “Looking at the entire year, the African smartphone market outperformed other regions but was not immune to disruptions caused by the pandemic. Q2 2020 was especially difficult as demand was hammered when most countries entered lockdowns. Smartphone shipments during the quarter saw a YoY drop of 27%.”

Wang added, “Restrictions started easing in July. Demand followed suit, riding on a surge in promotional activities, even as COVID-19 cases ticked upwards heading into the Christmas shopping season. Q4 2020 actually eked out a 1.5% gain in YoY terms, the best quarter on record.”

Speaking about smartphone prices in the African market, Wang said, “The ASP decreased 15% between 2018 and 2020, and today over 80% of Africa’s smartphone shipments come from the below- $200 band. We can expect further replacement of feature phones by entry-level smartphones, leading to the ASP likely remaining under pressure in the next few years.”

2020 also saw sales of the first 5G capable smartphones in Africa. 5G is unlikely to be a main factor in the African market in the next few years though, as the deployment of 5G commercial networks is still in its infancy in the continent. Still, there is room for 5G smartphones in Africa, especially if prices can drop below $200, as Counterpoint expects to happen in the near future.

You don’t need to flash or wipe your phone again to reset your pattern security pass, it’s easier than you thought. I Love surfing my smartphones but I came across this very lately.

Am not good at telling stories but this could help someone and save them from losing important Docs


For days now my sister has been disturbing me to help her flash or wipe her new phone, because she had forgotten the pattern she used.


We all have relaxed and enjoyed the finger print and face unlock features from our smartphones, but still you wouldn’t imagine the day you’d only have to enter your pattern to unlock your phone, have experienced it with my previous device before Tecno smartphones came to our rescue, with very sensitive finger scanner and sharp face unlock features that works properly even in a low light environment.


She’s into AN online drop shipping recently and I know what it means to lose IMPORTANT datas, so I tried to help her copy the files to my system.

Actually, I don’t know if this feature is available on other phones, but the new phone she got recently was the Tecno camon 16 premier, because of the 128/8 gig stuff that can do the JOB she’s doing very well, and she takes a lot of pictures too…


We tried the patterns till the phone starts rejecting the finger print and the face unlock (this is a good AI experience, no need to panic) Well, I got to know while I was copying the files that there’s a button for FORGOT PASSWORD” after so many tries, the phone displayed “try again after 30 secs” and I waited, after that the “forgot password” showed.


So, to reset the password, press the forgot password and follow the simple instructions to reset the Pattern password again… your finger print is required to confirm you are truly the owner of the device you are trying to reset the PATTERN PASSWORD.


Please note i tried this on the new Tecno CAMON 16 Premier, try it out on other tecno phones and see if it’s going to work

The normal spark 5 is lesser than the pro

And the basic specs too


Like the RAM and the processor


Well they both have 5k battery capacity and they are android 10v same screen size...

The TECNO phones just fit in for any budget...


If you can get the Pro just add a little if you can't just for the normal one, you'd enjoy it for sure

You have a good budget o and you deserve a good phone, try to make it 75k to get the latest TECNO CAMON 16 with 5000mah powerful battery and 64gig storage 4 gig ram and 48mp clean camera... You will enjoy it well... But you can go for the spark 5 pro too
