Tomorrow, Tomorrow (tuesday 12/12/17) May it mark the end to the pains and anguish brought upon hopeful prospective scholars and beneficiaries of this scholarship. The hide and seek game has reached its peak. I pray it ends in a tangible and positive result. Scholars need to dance to Koredo Bello. |
I Hope the management keeps to their word of resolving these issues by next tuesday. However, despite the press statement, the meeting with Hon. Abike Dabiri shld go on where all issues ranging from late award of letters, transport mobilization allowance prior to departure and late payment of fees and upkeep shld be addressed. Scholars need to sit with the authorities to discuss matters as it affects their welfare and success of the scheme. |
To be honest. If by God's Grace i secure this award, after a month of documentation with my sch and Nddc, going by these experience I will start shouting for payment. Walahi I mean it cos a stitch in time saves nine. |
Abike Dabiri has asked the Owed scholars that thru their rep to establish communication via email with her on this issue. The effort so far on social media seems to be yielding fruits. However the pressure has to continue or else it'll be a waste of time since the Mgt are skilled in diversion and delay tactics. Keeping quiet and waiting on empty promises has caused so much damage. Imagine over 9months of endless audit for less than 200 scholars. Nobody shld believe any stroy until the payments are secured. Keep shouting till alert drops cos they are insensitive and insincere. |
This NDDC pple are not to be trusted. How long must it take to pay owed scholars? This is just madness and impunity combined. |
ladybug2:Thank you |
Any Payment Update Please? |
sethmelia002:It's not logical using an old (possibly expired)admission for a fresh application. At what stage will the waivers be granted (cbt Or Interview)? The complexity of a fresh application of over 10000 applicants combined, those consultants can't handle it if going by the mess they did with that of this yr. The last award process had been concluded only to be delayed cos of the payment issue. Forget whatever you were told, the 2017/2018 award list will be out after payments have been conclude. |
Y'all Shld keep calm and wait for the payment of owed scholars after which the list comes next. What we need is update on the payment process. No need for these rumors from sources on the list till after payment. Even the MD had reneged on the list cos of the payment issue. So without payment there won't be any new process. |
Nigerdcritics:Bro its mid-November. Any hope for these payments? |
Pls Who amongst us watched the Senate President's meeting with the relevant MDA's handling scholarships today @ 2:30pm? shld pls brief us. I Had a busy day. |
Ovywils:Senate Planery is usually on wednesdays and its usually aired live on some broadcasting services. I don't knw if the print media carried the news for further reporting. I currently do not know the proposed date for the meeting b/w the leadership of the senate and faulting agencies. However, I also feel of the MNDA Ministers reponse to NDDC case may have also been timely to his notification as well from senate displeasure surrounding the issue. His Ministry went further to state that they donot "micro-manage NDDC but supervise/cordinate their activities" (if u ask me what that means, na who i go ask?) So, the MD will have to tell the senate why it has been difficult for him to seemlessly administer the scholarship scheme which he promised to sustain. |
The DG RSSDA, resigned citing his "frustrations" in carrying out his functions. With counter accusations flying accross board all in the name of auditing the funds. Why shld all these "madness" be displayed? It is becoming clearer that some people are feeding fat at the expense of scholars. Oh Lord arise for your children. |
This Senate move is beginning to yield positive result just as the Rivers State Govt has announced the release of $1m to cover for oustanding fees for her foreign scholars through RSSDA. Every agency now wants to save face. Abeg NDDC next oh, (i hope they have dignity) |
Ovywils:We will rejoice and be glad in it. Now that this scholarship issue has been debated on the floor of the Nigerian Senate last week,it was encouraging to see both APC/PDP Senators condem the way the agencies (NDDC) have mis-managed scholars welfare to the embarrassment of the nation. The senate president also lamenting the welfare as being insufficient. It will be interesting to hear his(MD) defense in his call-up for enquiries. It musn't always result in these national embarrassments for things to be done properly. I hope these payments will be done soonest so we can all forge ahead. |
To the owed scholars. Pls do well like the biblical leper to return here when y'all begin to receive payments and show gratitude to everyone inclusive of the media platforms that assisted in shaming the act of NDDC concerning this scheme. I don't know why it has to result to protest/fights before our leaders perform. They are never proactive. The present mgt needs to wake up. |
2017 Beneficiaries will be eligible to use the scholarship next year when contacted. Also there's no cause for alarm of no awards for 2017 cos the process was completed jst the awards being delayed due to the issues with previous scholars. However, I have no guarantee after 2017 awards concerning the scheme. But I'm hopeful it is sustained to continually help bright minds from the region in achieving their career goals. Goodluck To Everyone awaiting the final list. |
The Hon. Min Of MNDA PST USANI has directed the suspension of new scholarship awards until the back log of payments to scholars are cleared. |
xenaaa:Spot On. The MD is to be held resposible for this delay. NDDC operations are jst too politicized. So much talk but less tangible results. |
mcpreciousivan:LOL @ "mature". I wasn't arguing with u. I only asked u 2 questions that needed straight forward ans. I think u owe @Xenaaa an apology for ur previous comment of u trying to discredit her effort in unraveling this list issue seeing that u deployed her methods as well and now perhaps want to be applauded for doing same. As for being "connected"?....Baba be HUMBLE All the same kudos for making an effort concerning this List issue. Cheers Mate! |
[quote author=mcpreciousivan post=61607820]. I was there today at NDDC headquarter... Guy I thought u earlier stated that visitations at NDDC HQ are restricted to Tuesdays & Thursdays? How come u r now visiting on a friday? As far as I'm concerned, i'm not interested in any of these stories but the list being released. I dnt care whatsoever is happening inside there. |
[quote author=ladybug2 post=61478462]If feel your pain cos this problem has become our problem too with this resultant delay of the 2017 list. I hope and pray the Senate President will keep to his word of resolving this payment issues. It is well. |
sethmelia002:I'm equally confused as well. I find it hard to believe that none of the 2015 Phd Scholars have been paid (genuine/non-genuine if anything like that even exist) ? Ibim Seminitari was there for about 9months and cldn't clear the outstanding payments? Now compounding the problems. Its an APC affair and ought to be sorted out easily cos their budget for it was approved. She even went ahead to publish a quartely report that she paid scholars. This problem has caused so much pain.Strategic individual plans have been put on hold due to this silence & delay. NDDC shld jst let us know our fate. |
I don't understand why & how this 2015 Scholars' issue is still lingering up till now while 2016 scholars were paid. It doesn't add up to me. I knw Nddc is well funded. One doesn't knw what to believe anymore cos its getting complicated by the day. I only hope the tension ends this week. |
2017 Scholars will be mobilized soon. It has delayed no doubt but going forward it may be the best in welfare. I encourage everyone to keep faith. The delay will work in our good. The sore tale of the 2015 scholars will put this scholarship on the right track. Cheers guys. |
ladybug2:It is my earnest prayer that an end to these sad tales about NDDC Scholarship in general comes to an end. I commend you guys for the steps taken to end this problem. The news about this is already gathering momentum on newspapers and blogs and I believe/hope the mgt is not heartless not to take another look into your claims. Keep up the struggle. Future Scholars will benefit from these corrections. |
ladybug2:I sympathize with you on this. If you have been paid at least once although late, hw difficult is it to track same invoice from the school that got the payment as NDDC claims? Well, I hope this gets clearer. |
ladybug2:Good. Pls as a 2015 Scholar,Have you been paid by NDDC? So we know if the end to our waiting is in sight. Thank You. |
mcpreciousivan:Are you now the MD/CHAIRMAN of the Board? Try to read in between the lines of my post. What do u understand by the word "shortlisted" in other words selected? If U are part of this process up till now, was there any time u saw ur name being published anywhere that u hv been selected/shortlisted for the stages? Also i didn't conclusively say that the list won't be published (using The Phrase "I Don't Think" . I boldly said they are under no obligation whatsoever to publish any list as implied in the application guideline. U can also refer to the first post on this thread for reminders & clarity. You are the one wrong and not me. |
Knightcrawler1:I don't see them publishing any list since they didn't do so in the processes leading to this point. Same media will be used in contacting beneficiaries. Besides during the application, it was clearly stated that they reserve the right to decide who makes the list & will have no business going further with those not contacted in any of the selection stages which we all agreed to and applied. So they are under no obligations at all to publish any list. All we have to do is Watch and Pray that we get contacted soonest. Top of the morning to you Ladies & Gentlemen. |
Knightcrawler1:I dey tell you. The more we look, the less you see. |
Knightcrawler1:My Guy, forget the grammer. Go and register for skill acquisition thats the koko now o. @ JAYDEBADESTBOY abeg give him the latest news....LOL. |
