Cebu:My Guy, it seems u hv something to share. Feel free we won't come at you. |
Chigojude:I'm jst waiting to read another plagiarized & boring presidential speech as always while watching this comedy show NDDC is airing. |
Chigojude:Thanks Bro, wish u same. i'm searching for cover-all,helmet & safety boots since Papa Nsima wants us to now learn welding..lol. Some Pple made moves in engaging NDDC bt were blasted not to, that the scholarship was a privilege. Others are waiting for EFCC to round up Papa Nsima while they wail in whatsapp groups. The same spineless, toothless barking dogs called EFCC that only engage in media trials & haven't won any prolific case since forever. It seems we haven't realized the level of rot in this country esp in the Niger Delta. Lets continue to watch this comedy show NDDC is airing. Expect more seminars/talk shows in the coming weeks as we keep observing. Meanwhile, its Oct 1 by the corner, lets celebrate whatever we think Nigeria has achieved in 57yrs |
Chigojude:LWKMD, Haba. I feel your pain man even this skill acquisition may take another 6months to conclude the way things are going. It seem this board love media campaigns. Meanwhile pple are wailing in whatsapp groups like they'll be heard there. This is becoming a comedy show. Patience Fall On Us.. LOL |
I think the problem of Niger Delta is largely caused by Niger Deltans. If a northerner headed the board everyone will cry wolf yet Niger Deltans have made a complete mess of NDDC since its existence. I have not been impressed by the current board either, paying lip service to everything. A year gone and just 1 more left to the end of their tenure and all you hear is drafting of road map/working plan, talk shows, speeches & seminars etc. The more we look the less we see. It is well with us. |
I'll also lay part of the blame on previous & current scholars who wrongly bent the rules of engagement by hastingly leaving the country without securing their welfare having heard reports of complaints of no mobilization/prompt payment for the past 4yrs if not more, now they are facing hardship. Because it happened to others and few felt"it won't happen to me" resulted to this. PTDF scholarship may not be perfect but it remains the best model for other scholarships by Govt agencies to adopt/improve upon. NDDC is for us & we are paramount & deserve the best being citizens of this blessed region. My question is when will the negative reports concerning this scholarship end? Only a fool repeats same mistakes. Pls lets do better this time. |
This is getting interesting by the day. Punch Newspaper has carried the news about NDDC Scholars' problems & a director claims scholars can't be traced for over 19months since they left for studies? The reporter did well to show proof of correspondence b/w scholars & NDDC, HaBa.. Naija na wa! Pple are being paid for jobs they cannot or are not doing? Sincerely the way this things happen seems like magic to me. I'll gladly wait for the issues to be resolved than to be shipped to a foreign land to suffer. So much wrongs to be corrected. |
I Jst hope this long wait will be worth it. |
shophut:What have we been doing for the past weeks after the interviews, jubilating? Pls make some sense. |
BRAINNY:Thank you my brother. U cldn't have said it any better. |
shophut:What is the needful? |
Nigerdcritics:These speculated days are for what? 1)Payment of owed scholars 2) Release of 2017 successful scholars' list 3)Both The scholars that cried out for payment should also do well to report back here if they've received their pay. |
Cebu:Pls we await more fresh update on the list oo. The tension is becoming too much Can the "source-men" who have seen the preview of this suspense-packed, thriller seasonal movie titled "NDDC Scholarship Season 2017 Episode 22" kindly tell us if the battle has been won in unmasking the content of the list in this episode? We are hoping season 2017 will end well. |
Nigerdcritics:I Followed ur update on PTDF thread and u were so accurate on the PTDFLIST. Hmmm, these your sources are impecable. |
The golden week that we've all been waiting for is near. I will be shortlisted by His grace..Amen. |
BRAINNY:I guess the board may have finally decided on who stays, get expunged or enters the list.#Finalchoice |
Uwemy:Just imagine the rubbish, now they may become cogs in the wheel of progress for the scheme. NDDC needs to do better . I hope the list comes out this week. Time is running out. |
divinehand2003:Yes for me. Though it may only be convenient for pals who are in PH and it's environs. Unfortunately I'm not close by. Please your general suggestions are needed for the way forward. Can those on the Whatsapp group liase as well? Although I feel this platform can accommodate more discursants. |
xenaaa:Source please? |
1stPolymath:Kh001 is a PTDF STAFF. The account has been confirmed. I hope that settles that. Bless You |
Nobody is disputing the inefficiency of some of our National Agencies, however it makes sense to me when some respond to queries and take steps in addressing them. Pls lets channel our time and ideas on how to civily engage NDDC for response or we jst wait silently untill whenever successful candidates are contacted. |
1stPolymath:My Guy I didn't praise them, i commended them for responding.can that be said of NDDC? PTDF may not have replied your mail but they responded generally via tweet.(also Kh001's post on the ptdf thread) |
shophut:You jst spoke my mind.I was Not in support of it for posterity sake cos we all have benefited from threads of previous years.Even after the awards, successful candidates still fall bck here 4 updates on welfare. |
1stPolymath:Check Their Twitter Handle. |
As we wait here in silence, it is cheerful to know that PTDF (A sister agency) has communicated to their prospective scholars and apologiezed for the delay through various social media platforms (twitter, nairaland) and have immediately swung into action. Communication is key to understanding and good governance. I hope the NDDC Staff will do same.(abi NDDC social media enquiries never reach?) |
How did things get to this point, eh jst how? After 2013, following the threads here on nairaland the complains about the shortcomings concerning the scheme has been on same issues. I was hoping that with the "change" mantra, things would really change. Pls Let it change for the better |
First, I must commend the NDDC Management for their sustainance of this scheme. However, this silence & wait is bad. It seems like no one cares about the fate of scholars concerning their admission being lost & to think that NDDC instructed that they won't permit change of course/institution as well as deferring and now delaying the process speaks of double standards. In as much as patience is a virtue, it shouldn't be exploited wrongly. Time is of the essence as regards VISA and traveling arrangements. For those of us who know the importance of this opportunity of early resumption would continue to hope that the list is published now. If all NDDC Scholars can attain the highest academic excellence in their various fields then the management would be worthy of praises and satisfaction. I'm appealing to anyone who has the ears of the management or staff to please beg them to release the list and make things easier for prospective scholars so that the purpose of this scholarship scheme is not defeated. |
Lol this wait is making us our brothers keeper. The MD's whereabout has become a concern of which ordinarily no one would have cared. However, Going by media reports, i think he attended a convention held by Akwa Ibomites in US over the weekend. just be hopeful that this week will be of great news to all expecting. on a lighter note pray for his safe and quick return |
This is a new week. Any update for us? Most Schools Are Resuming in few weeks |
The earlier the final list is published the better for the beneficiaries not just for traveling purpose but also as a solid groud to raise more funds from external sponsors(family&friends) which will assist in covering for living expenses. The Scholarship grant has remained fixed while fees and living cost in different cities continue to rise. Nonetheless, early arrival will improve one's chances of making the best out of their academic pursuit so that the purpose of the scholarship is not defeated. Oh Management Hear Our Cry And Publish The List On Time...Amen |
[quote author=Jaybadestboy post=59586768]Chances of following through the CAS and VISA process is getting slim everyday |
it's quite sad that we still have to wait this long.I'll suggest that we should try and contact the scholarship info desk for more updates. |
