PoliticsWhy Are Nigerians Focused On Who Is Least Worst, And Not Who Can Perform Better? by Dannyxy(op): 9:52am On Feb 06, 2019
Some of us are relative young to the political climate in Nigeria, and as it is, someone like me, cannot seem to comprehend or understand the mindset of Nigerians.

With the elections coming, our politics seem to be a politics of hate and blames, no one is talking about optimal performance, but the only thing, they seem to be focused on, how they are less worst, compared to the other party... We do not see parties arguing about tremendous achievement in science, technology, increase quality of lifestyle and standard of living, no, we don't see all this , but blame games every where...

Nigerians we are been shortchanged, and we seem so comfortable with the status quo..

Now for all our education and exposure, how can the common be so comfortable with how unaccountable are leaders seem to be? ...

Mickael2:
I had actually decided that I wouldn't reply again but I have to correct this nonsensical and downright stupid comment, no offence.

Now Puel is not my manager and I have not for once said he is a fantastic coach, people just said he should be sacked and I rightly asked the rationale behind sacking a coach who is comfortable in midtable, then y'all said he is the reason why Iheanacho has been poor then I asked why other players like Madison and Vardy are scoring and assisting, picking up great stats under him. Leicester city actually play some very good football on their day, like the match against Liverpool, the match agaibst Man U today they created at least three good chances and factually matched Manchester United. He is not a brilliant coach I wouldn't argue with that at all but if you tell me he is going to be sacked I will tell you that you are wrong and that is true.

Then down to Rohr. I do not like having to run him down again but you asked for it. As a matter of fact after typing the explanation about Puel I figured out it was a waste of my precious time actually replying your comment. Rohr is not a good tactician everybody knows that, the extra problem which I always hang on to is that when coach's stand up to be counted Rohr will always be found wanting. For goodness sake I have used this line over and over again, Leicester is getting results against top team while we lay down flat for average Argentina at the world cup and we have to park the bus against South Africa. I am really disappointed you made this comparisons but then again I guess I need to put you in a level lower than you currently are in my books so I won't be too disappointed next time
in my opinion, no pun intended... I think you just try to swing the pendulum to where it suits you, when trying to antagonize our players, You should try to stick to a standard...

You say Leicester gets results against top teams, but then they go on to loose to teams like like Cardiff, crystal palace, Southampton, fulham.... Lol, what's your argument about??..

Argentina??, Nigeria.. My man nobody expects Nigeria to beat Argentina on a normal day, so I don't know what you are on about, but well, what do I expect from someone who said we couldn't beat Algeria, Cameroon, someone who comes to say we were outplayed after beating Libya home and away...

See ehn I am not beefing you, just trying to point out your twisted logic mickeal2...

And lol grin about putting me low in your book, abeg who your book help, shey your book, na book of life ni?

TheGoodJoe:
How many times did you see Aubameyang and Lacazette in defence? It was Iwobi doing that. Will attempted tackles show how many times they were in defence.

Arsenal team were blown away due to Manchester City's brilliance. Not Iwobi.

The point is too simple.

Finito.
oga, you saw it, I actually join the game about some minutes into the game, and iwobi was stuck, trying to defend and defend, I thought he was playing wing back... Man city made arsenal stay put in their half... I was thoroughly embarrassed for arsenal, they were totally outplayed in all departments..

I think it's clear that some people here just wait for opportunities to pull down our players...

We all know the truth grin

According to someone like mickeal2. Puel is doing a great job, and he his conservative style isn't to be blamed for iheanacho's predicament, afterall he is getting results, then he turns around in another argument to say, rohr is a bad tactician, and his conservative style is affecting the team play, we should forget his results..

What double standards, heh.. Lol..

Some of us, don't have the time to always argue here, but we started following this thread from the first day , and used to be active on this section, even before this thread was created , even before some of you joined or knew nairaland, now we are just serial readers, contributing opinions anytime we can.. I am just highlighting this fact, so someone here would not think that because he is always available here to argue and debate topics, he wouldn't be floored, if some of us decided to actually engage..

We are all learning at the end of the day..

This is self delusion

Mind you I was watching as a SE enthusiast not as a Man City or Arsenal fan

Iwobi was awful today
the whole arsenal team was awful..

But, since you said you were watching as a s.e fan, oya now, so that means you were watching only iwobi's Performance, so I agree he played badly, no doubt...

Mickael2:
Did I say the whole Arsenal team was not piss poor? There really was nothing wrong with Arsenal's tactics though, they kept City at bay sometimes even better than Liverpool and Man U did. It is the personnel. The defence is another problem no doubt but Arsenal's midfield is a decent midfield, the problem is that their creative outlet is Iwobi. Iwobi is an average player at best, and if a team relies on an average player as their creative outlet then the team is a midtable team at best. Iwobi had his best game of the season against Liverpool what did that fetch Arsenal? 1 goal and a serious demolition, back then when Sanchez still was in the team of he had a good game you could back Arsenal to win, and worse the strikers ahead of him were Giroud and who again? If Sanchez was still at Arsenal when Auba and Lacazzete came in then he would have led them to a second place finish at least, Iwobi is just not good enough to do that. He would be a good addition to the West Ham team, but at Arsenal he really should not be a starter if they have title-wining intentions. Finito
now let's drag back a little... I don't know about you, but today with what I watched, iwobi wasn't the creative outlet, he played wing back(first mistake by the coach) .. Go back and watch that game, arsenal wanted to be defensive and compact, with their terrible defenders(second mistake)..

Now iwobi was playing a defensive role in this game, a very bad choice by the coach, and he was practically struggling, and then he made that mistake, his psychology and morale was down, he was trying to make an impact, but as the game continued, he just became confused... He was no longer confident on the ball, because now he realized, loosing the ball, trying to do something with it, could make them concede more goals, been that he was playing a defensive role.. Hence the terrible display, he was not lackluster, and it was not that he didn't try, it was just a bad day for him..

Go back and watch that game, with an analytical mindset, I know you can annually analyze a match, so I am disappointed, you are talking like most beer parlour fans we have in Nigeria ...

Iwobi has a HUGE confidence problem

I think he should leave Arsenal and work his way up
why wouldn't he be low on confidence, when he knows he is scape for a very inconsistent team, you think he doesn't know the fans are just waiting for him to have a bad game, so they can blame him for all their woes...

And Nigerians fans are the worst fans, plastic fans, so toxic towards their own...

Both are average players, I will not argue that at all because it is true. Both I know Suarez is more creative than Iwobi, I believe with Auba in front of him he would pick up quite a lot of assists
oga it was w bad day in the office for the young man... Every time arsenal plays badly, the next thing is for you guys to put the young man on the slaughter table... Abeg make una chill..

Dennis an upgrade?.. Oya now make we see... Shey na this same epl.. Lols

I really pity iwobi, you could see that the mistake really affected his play going forward, he is always being blamed for arsenals woes...

Any unbiased mind would see that, bad tatics from arsenal's coach and superior tactics from pep, and a motivated team play, is what is making man city win now...

Iwobi made a mistake yes, but the whole arsenal team was piss poor..
