bidexiii: NIGERIAN NAVY LAUNCHES NEW WARSHIP
The Nigerian Navy (NN) has today launched a new Landing Ship Tank (LST) at Damen Shipyard, Sharjah, United Arab Emirates. The construction of the ship began about 2 years ago and when commissioned, will replace the first set of LSTs of the NN, NNS AMBE and NNS OFIOM which have been decommissioned.
The introduction of the LST to the NN inventory will bolster NN sealift capability. Specifically, it would enhance the transportation of troops, military hardware, vehicles in the conduct of maritime security operations launched from sea as well as supply of relief material during period of national emergency. Furthermore, the vessel will serve as a critical component of naval power projection for enhanced maritime security in the Gulf of Guinea and beyond. In its secondary role, the LST will play a critical role in the protection of maritime assets and preservation of law and order at sea, thus contributing significantly to promotion of global maritime commerce, peace and safety.
The new LST has a complement of 32 crew and 250 embarked persons and a length of 100.08m. She is powered by 2 Caterpillar/Cat 3516 C-rating engines and 4 Caterpillar C-18 generators. Furthermore, she has an endurance of 15 days @ 15 knots. If she is to be used for humanitarian missions/evacuation, she can accommodate over 450 persons on its upper and lower decks in short trips.
The bid opening process for the procurement of the LST was held on 19 December 2017 and supervised/conducted by a team from the Bureau of Public Procurement as well as a technical committee of the Nigerian Navy. The Shipbuilding companies that participated were Damen Shipyards of the Netherlands, Anadolu Deniz of Turkey and Indian Shipyards GOA of India. On 13 June 2019, the NN and Damen Shipyards signed the final general arrangement plan and specifications on the LST 100 and this date of 13 June 2019 became the effective date of contract for the LST 100. The contract duration as agreed by both parties was approximately 36 months from the effective date of contract. The Keel laying ceremony for the LST 100 was held on the 9 December 2019 at The Damen-Albwardy Shipyard in Sharjah the UAE. The immediate past CNS Vice Admiral IE Ibas placed the Nigerian Navy insignia into the keel and sealed it.
Over the last 2 years several Factory Acceptance Tests with regards to various components of the LST 100 have been jointly and successfully completed by the NN and Damen Shipyards. Most notable among these FAT’s was the main propulsion engines tested in 2019/ 2020 and the Remote Weapon system which was also successfully tested in March 2021.
Damen Shipyards is one of the biggest multinational shipbuilding groups in the world, operating more than 50 shipbuilding and repair yards worldwide. On the African continent, they operate a full shipbuilding yard in South Africa and in Port Harcourt Nigeria, they operate a fully equipped maintenance yard. The LST contract is being handled by DSNS (Damen Schelde Naval Shipbuilding) the naval shipbuilding arm of Damen shipyards and the ship is being constructed at the Damen-Albwardi Shipbuilding Yard in Sharjar in the UAE. Since it's a warship why were it armaments not stated... |

Virtually the NA SF who trained in Russia and belarus did undergo all the training you've listed the only ones am not sure of are ; .....Visit Board Search and Sieze Operations (counter piracy and taking over ships at sea) , maritime warfare phase...etc and these is because they are not Navy SF sprlecs.
Below are training the NA SF av undergone in north-east of europe;
Training Overview:
Firearms techniques, including one day at Spetsnaz training Polygon for firearms training, including Russian pistols, rifles, and machine guns. Drive light tanks and armored personnel carriers. Learn psychology of terrorists and assailants. Training and execution of hostage and wounded personnel rescue. Rappelling. Elite Firestorm and Anti-Terror Obstacle courses and training with explosives. Knife and shovel fighting. Weapons disarming. Work with weapons and mass attack scenarios Practice camouflage and concealment techniques of the Russian Special Forces Training in patrol, ambush and counter ambush techniques Learn wilderness and night survival skills Conditioning exercizes and strength training Training may last up to 10 hours per day Program includes a minimum of 2 hours per day of hand to hand combat training in the Russian Martial Arts plus strength and conditioning training unlike anything seen in the west. With all these boko still dey use men catch cruise.... Training and all the weapons in the whole world is useless without a solid intelligence platform... How can a country fighting terrorism actively not have Joint special Operations command (JSOC)....? No Intel security....Nothing ... Holding an .50 caliber machine gun is useless wen u dont knw that ur enemy who is armed with a jack knife is coming from ur six.... He will kill u cos u didn't see him coming 2 Likes |

TheFacelessMan:
Years back, at Ijebu Ode, I and my friends decided to do money rituals...
The herbalist asked us to meet him at the OkuOrun Cemetery at midnight.
4 of us went to the cemetery that night and i shiver recalling the unspeakable things that happened that night...
It was dark and so silent we could all hear our hearts beating fast.
Halfway through our walk, we heard a horrible guttural sound
A hyena was snacking on a fresh corpse
We interrupted him eating dinner!
Have you ever heard a hyena laugh ? It sounds like music Satan would dance to in Hell
After a long walk through a maze of grave stones... we got there.
The Babalawo instructed us to all strip naked and choose a tomb to stand in front of...
We each carried a calabash on our heads containing the offering and Baba started chanting.
"NO MATTER WHAT, you MUST NOT LOOK BACK" no matter what! Baba said.
"Eyin oku ati eyin alijanu, omo ni momo eworks, eworks yeeee!"
After 20 minutes of incantations, his words started twisting and became strange and...
I clearly heard the concrete slab shift beneath me

What happened next is difficult to describe...
You know the chill felt against your legs when you open the fridge ?
The temperature dropped to subzero... i am not ashamed to say this, i felt something warm trickling down my legs as i peed on myself
The cold crept up my ankles... to my calves...my buttocks... waist.... back
I felt a presence practically inches behind me and then cold hands of bone on either side of my neck...
My hands started trembling with my eyes screwed shut!
" AHHHHHHHHHHH" .... and i heard a sound of calabash crashing down and breaking, approximately 2 graves away!
That sounded very much like Shola, his nerve must have broken!
I heard what seemed like a woman's high pitched evil laughter.
And Shola started making gurgling terrible sounds like he was being strangled...
I ran forward without daring to look back chanting " Jesus, Jesus, Jesus" zeetee
To be continued .....
Culled from "The Memoirs of The Faceless Man" were can we get the remaining story I'm intrigued |
