You are welcome dear. But you have to learn to give befitting response if you cannot ignore such questions. The truth is that you do not owe anyone any explanation s on what and how you feed your baby(except your DH,of course).
For example, when people ask me whether I do EBF, my response always is that I breast feed him, case close.
So dear, your concern should be how to take care of your baby so that he/she grows up to tell you that you are the best mum in the whole world. That is what matters the most.

Sweetie, don't beat urself or feel less of a mother cos of EBF. I'm also doin mixed feeding and dat has been my decision for both babies. There is no medal for EBF! For combination, I feed formula at least 3xs a day. In the morning, after bathtime I give formula so she can sleep for long. Inbetween it's breastfeeding. Around 2-3, I give formula again, inbetween breastfeeding. Around 8-9pm b4 bedtime, I give formula. All tru the night, I do breastfeeding. The important thing is that baby is well fed.

I also have exactly the same feeding routine with you. The most important thing is to ensure that are babies feed well and they are healthy. There is no mother that is, less important than another. Every mother takes the best decision for their Los.
We should always be proud of ourselves because it takes a lot more than being pregnant and putting to bed to be a mother and we all are doing our best in that regard.

So congratulations to all the mothers in the house, I am so proud of us all. E hugs to you all.

I have tried to do that but I am not getting the required results. Is there a better or faster way to do that?

When can one add the groundnut? Is it before or after grinding the corn?
Also, is the groundnut suppose to be fried or added raw?

Onegai even posted the link a while back detailing the research and she also stated that there is a great amount of work required to nutritionally fortify pap to acceptable levels using other food items and she personally felt that it just wasn't worth the hassle. I doubt if many mums actually took out time to read the link. Information they say is power.

With this new discovery on soy milk I guess we should make do with groundnut and other legumes.
However, I suggest we introduce in little quantity per day to our babies and watch out for allergies, diarrhea, etc.
My opinion though.
God will continue to increase us in wisdom on how best to take care of our babies.

Like play o, my boy started running temperature around 1 am today and before we knew it, he started vomiting. We couldn't stand it and we rushed him to the hospital around 1:30am. This is the boy that has just been treated of malaria 2weeks ago.

They ran malaria test for him but it was negative. We were referred to the hospital lab for test. That we have done this morning and result will be ready tomorrow.

My boy cried to the extent that I was shedding tears unknowingly when they were taking his blood. They couldn't locate the vein on time cos he is very chubby. Thank God my hubby came back from his journey yesterday, I don't know how I would have coped.

He is presently on medication and he is responding fine now.

In another news, he was giving polio vaccine in the hospital, I asked d nurse why and she said there is outbreak of polio.

None of us will bury our children on this platform and they will be a source of concern to us.

Don't worry dear, the devil came too late. The Lord that kept in your womb for 9 months, helped you to bring forth and has preserved him till date will continue to protect him from the evil plans of of the, enemy. He is healed in Jesus name.

Yes, the immunization card has it but they don't book it at Government hospital. In fact, I asked for clarification that day we took our 14 weeks vaccine to be sure if they are not making mistake, cos the next appointment they booked was 9 months. May be not everywhere sha.

There is for 12 months, but they booked us for 15 months. And I took my time to ask those that have older child than my boy in the church, they said its always for 15 months and that is when the immunization certificate will be given.

Hello Mamas in the house...Pls i need your help.

I am a FTM to a 5-week old who gets very gassy when he eats..we are currently on Breastmilk and Similac cos my milk flow is low and doesnt satisfy him. Sometimes when he is eating, he would start grunting like he is in pain and scratching his head.

Also he poos just once in three days and its greenish, seedy and watery

I really dont know what to do to calm him down..pls help

For the gas, burp in between meal and after every meal.
For the green poo, you need to watch your sugar intake. I have noticed that any time I take sugary things my baby pops green poo and the poo goes to normal once I stop, so now I avoid anything sugary like plague. I think you should try that and see what happens.

I got 90mil twice yesterday n today.... she has refused latching and doctor said its becos she stared bottle already.

Mine started with bottle too because of the same issue as yours and continued to put him to breast. Now, he is pro.
So don't give up. Just continue putting her to breast she will come around. Also, try to put pillow on ur lap and place her on it while breasting. This will bring her closer to the breast and more comfortable for both of u.

Over 72 hours, I can't see visible improvement except (baby not looking dehydrated) He still poos, I think he poos only water, after pooing new born yellow-greenish poo. Whether he urinate gon, I can't tell. .
Before he poos, he feels so much discomfort for close to 1 hr, I will massage his tummy taya, before he finally poos

A friend suggest I ask them to refer me to Massey street children hospital island. (Government Hospital with their wahala, go and buy syringe , go and buy hand glove, go and photocopy )

I met another doctor not quite long and explain my fears, he said it will stop th@t some germs in diarrhea are very stubborn, that they had a case like dat thar the woman just woke up one day to find out the poo had stopped.

Their paediatrician comes every Wednesday, but I don't think I can wait till Wednesday here o. I'm tired of sleeping on hospital bed.

I'm still giving him ors. Hopefully, he is going to be better by Dawn. Amen

Rezzy, does this mean the paed has not seen your lo since you are admitted?
If the answer to the above is yes, I think you should go to a hospital that has a resident paed. It is very important that your lo is handled by a professional at this stage.
God will strengthen you dear and your baby will be fine and back to his normal self shortly.

Also, another home remedy for cough is steaming without adding anything, let them inhale the hot steam, it works better when they cry so that the steam touch their throat. This has been my solution and its working for me. Also, that system is prescribed by a friend Dr.
