Good morning sabi mums, hope our day is going pretty well.
For those of us that has been affected by mmm, pls let's keep our hope alive knowing that come January everything will be sorted out and our monies recovered.

Gerber rice? Look for other supported seater cereal... Gerber Whole wheat and even Gerber Oatmeal.

Thanks dear, I have been to all those places, in fact welcome u is very close to my house and that's where I shop. The truth is that I am a little skeptical about wheat and oat as my Ds is not on the fat side so I kind of want something that will make him gain weight and I don't think oat and wheat can serve that purpose, though he takes oatmeal well.
I tried Gerber multigrain and it's making his poo black and strong. That is why I think I should stick to rice.

I bought cow&gate first and discovered small ants inside even though the pack was sealed.
My dear, I returned to the supermarket I bought it from and collected Gerber rice since then it has been team Gerber all the way.

I use to say my children don't eat but when I saw my sister inlaw feeding her 7months old baby I respected her and told her ,me I can't do This, they eat for two hours. NOT EATING HAS GRADE, I sell baby food I HAVE SEEN, you will cry for the mother.
In my case , I spank my children to eat, as I spank his buctucks he opens his mouth then I feed. We are in Nigeria, in this country we beat,it will not and can never kill the child. No greater love than the love of a Mother. No body loves my children more than me.
My first child is 3years old if you don't flog her at least one strike she will not eat.
WELL FOR MUMMYGWEN let your baby be hungry, when she wakes up don't breastfeed leave her till 9 or 10 am then feed it will be better, then use good MILK so that if she eats even if it's twice she will get enough nutrients. If you where in Ph I would have assisted you. Well done God is your strength.

@Final4804, I am in Ph and I need that your help o. My Ds is 5 months old on the 12the Dec but we started cereal at 4 months(Gerber rice). The problem now is day I can't find the Gerber rice anywhere again, which other cereal would you suggest for his age. If u got the seed.i teaspoon to one tea cup.steep for 2hrs n drink.pour d used seed into half bottle water and let it steep overnight. Sieve in d morning and take d water as u like.

I bought and use the capsules so I don't know how other mamas used the powdered form. But you need about 5000mg of fenugreek in a day to boost your supply. So if you can measure 5000mg from the powder, you can mix it with tea or a drink.

2. Catarrh can be as a result of common cold virus, irritation or allergy to dust, perfume etc. Not necessary a sign of underlying problem. Malaria and catarrh atimes go hand in hand.

Mamas pls does nycil soap cause dryness in babies. was using cusson product but couldnt find then i bought this nycil. i feel it makes my child skin dry.

I changed from Boots to Nycil and I have never regretted doing so. When we were using boots, it was rashes every time but now ds skin is like glass.
As for dry skin, I don't think it is caused by the soap. I may be wrong though, because people's skin react differently to certain substance.
I will suggest, you also check your baby's cream. I use original Shea butter in the morning and palm kernel oil at night (perfect choice for a perfect skin after trying oyibo products that failed).

you can try lanolin to help with the dryness, it is safe for babies to ingest and you dont need to clean / wash off before you breast feed. lansinoh is a popular brand for ni.pple cream and though it may be expensive...... a little goes a loooooooong way. i only used 1 and about a quarter of a tube during my 10 months of breast feeding and in the early days i used it at least twice a day.

it also works well as a good hydrating lip balm.... both for you and baby(my baby had serious lip cracking and peeling at a few weeks old and it helped massively.

another thing is: do not beat yourself up on the breast feeding issue, how old is your baby?
some babies self wean, and they just refuse breast for whatever reason. as he is taking bottle, keep expressing and bottle feeding.
if at any time you feel you need to supplement with formular, then so be it.
the long and short is that baby is eating.

if he wins a nobel prize in future nobody will ask how he was fed as a baby.

Well, DS rejected nipple at 6weeks and I was advised to co sleep with him at night in bare chest so the smell of the milk would appeal him to suck in his unconscious state of mind. Alas, it worked for me and we dropped bottle.

Peradventure he's still rejecting after you've tried to lure him, pls let him have the bottle. Either through bottle or direct, what's important is the feeding of the breast milk while you bond with, him through caring and playing with him.

You are right, dear. The areola of the right breast just suddenly became dry and scaly sometime back. I have been cleaning with water and applying blueseal vaseline.
I will try the coconut oil and the sleeping pattern.

All mamas in the house; new mamas, senior mamas and grand senior mamas good morning. Being a mom aint easy. The experience is quite an experience. My dd is 5 weeks plus yet she holds the entire house to ransom. She loves being carried and cries when you put her down. She has to be rocked to sleep or you carry her and dance round the house, even in the middle of the night.

Mamas I want to find out if its too early to introduce a pacifier. Also, how do I break this her love for being carried? I'm always alone at home from7 am to 4pm and I'm desperate as its quite tasking. I can't do anything else and I'm slowly going out of my mind.

Her love being carried was encouraged/taught by you. She has gotten used to you carrying her all the time even when you are suppose to put her down to stay on her own.
Anyway sha, you can still try to remedy the situation by letting her stay on her own anytime you are not feeding, bathing or changing her nappy.
For starters, keep her in her crib or bouncer and sit by her side playing with her.
You can also distract her with Baby tv channel.
Try also to place her where she can be seeing you while you do your chores.
It won't be easy to break the habit but she will eventually get the msg and start adjusting.
You can even be surprised that she will start to play on her own and sleep off without any coddling or dancing round the house.

Good morning, wonderful mamas in the house. I have been so upset this past few days.
Some weeks back my DS started reducing the number of times he sucks, ie, he cries if I put him to breast sometimes. At times he sucks one side of the breast and rejects d other side out rightly.
Later, he refused to suck any time I come back from work which is usually BTW 5:30 to 6:00pm but takes the expressed bm with bottle during the day, only to suck all thru the nite.
Now, since Saturday night, he has refused to suck at all both in the day and at note but takes the bm from feeding bottle.
The problem now is that my bm production has reduced drastically. In fact I can't even get up to 50ml when I come back from work.
The baby is my first after several years of TTC and it breaks my heart that I can't even breast feed him to my satisfaction.
I really need mamas that has had such experience to tell me how they handled the situation and all mamas that have any ideas should pls help me out hear.

You need to breathe, don't get worked up just yet! She never even start the creche baa, take it a day at a time.

If you can't cope with making it on fire, buy all the many cereals you can just pour warm water and miix, one at a time. Then you can start introducing fruits gradually.

I know it's not easy, particularly if you stay in north pole and work in south pole. You have to plan her meals, morning, mid day snacks and lunch.

Just browse thru that page on Facebook,if you don't get her food gather plenty info and twerk it to suit you and your baby.

Hmmm. Caprisonne habit can be hard to stop with kids and that's why it's best to introduce it as an occasional treat and not an everyday thing.

Do you have a juicer at home? Without a juicer to remove the pulp, it might be a little tricky making juice in a blend/consistency that he would accept. If you do have a juicer, then pineapple juice might work. Orange might be a little tricky as it can have a ting of sourness.

Pineapple + orange is another mix.

You can actually mix pineapple with just about any fruit (because of its sweetness). Combos you can try include pineapple+apples, pineapples+water melon, pineapple+Banana, etc.

Another option is to prepare smoothies using a blender or a smoothie maker. However, to get the best results, you have to add milk to any combo of fruit of your choice. You might also want to add a lil bit of lemon juice or lime just to ensure it's well preserved till lunch time for your son.

Fruits in its natural form is better/healthier than juice. So gradually replace juice or caprisonne with fruits he might like such as pineapple chunks, apple slices, bananas, etc.

Since I saw those pics of caprisonne with some slimy particular in it, I made up my mind that it's fresh juice all the way for my los. At least, I get to know the content of what they are taking unlike the packaged ones.
My personal decision though.
