Coming out of his door led to a long passage with doors lined up at both sides open. The main overhead lights were off leaving the dim ones of the emergency lights. Simon ran down the right side of the passage following the direction indicated by the metal ball’s holo map, he didn’t bother to look at the open prison doors for now. That is not a priority, getting that stash is.
Just ahead a turning appeared on the otherwise straight passage and a prison security guard was coming into the passage from that angle. Simon didn’t stop but put on a burst of speed. The guard didn’t see him on time because of the poor lighting and by the time he did, Simon was already too close for any form of reaction. Simon crashed into the guard’s midsection. Though the guard was putting on body armor and wasn’t hurt by Simon ramming into him, still the force of the impact threw him off his feet. He lay sprawled on the duracrete floor. He was moving his helmet head to see better wishing the visual compensator on the half visor of his helmet will come online. Simon was on his in a second, held the guard’s head below the helmet and twisted it backwards with a strong force. A low crack sounded as the guard’s neck broke and he went limp.
Searching the guard, he saw a lazer hand gun, a stun grenade and a stun rod. Simon quickly unbuckled the guard’s belt and slapped it on his waist. It held the holster containing the lazer gun and the stun grenade. He held the stun rod on his right and the ball with the holo map on his left. The stun rod’s setting was on the lowest but Simon moved it to the highest stun setting. That setting will induce instant paralysis on any one touch by the sizzling electric discharge area at the top of the stun rod. Still the stun rod was made from dense alusteel, he can still smash it on someone with sufficient force to kill.

Sorry guys but it seem nairaland doesn't want me to continue sending more updates on the story, anytime I want to update they block it. I already wrote a mail to the mod for this section, but didn't get any response. And they are not saying what the problem is.
Anyone here that can get across to them please do that. But for now I will finish the story on my own, anyone that will want the full file of the complete story, indicate here quote me or reach through my email. Will send u a copy as soon as its finished. Just a chapter left to go.

“Yes he is but in hiding. I have promised to keep him safe and watch over him. “ and here again the cyborg held both side of his head, as if pressing both palms to cover his ears. The single eye squeeze shut again and his teeth gnash against each other. “The pains… no I must retain control. I’m Dr. Bryant… a human… a man… a scientist… I must have control… “
Marvel observed as it seem the cyborg is under going intense pain and torture. This seem to be a different angle he wasn’t expecting to see.
“I should have listened when Guthrie warned me. “ the cyborg s screamed out all of a sudden. “I should have heed his warnings that the corporations cannot be trusted. They are just using me. They will set me up and try to eliminate me to keep the truth from getting out. I never listened, I concluded he was jealous of my progress, of the company giving me their top secret project to handle. But he was right, every single thing he said was right. “
What the hell is this damned construct saying, Marvel struggled in his mind. He may have some part of Dr. Bryant DNA splashed on him, but he is nit the doctor. If not for how angry his is feeling, he would have felt pity for the damned cyborg.

Still something about the human face pulls at Marvel. Looking at it as it should have been when fully alive and fleshy, add old wire rimmed glasses and you will have the face of Dr. Bryant. But that is not possible, Bryant is dead with several remains with the DNA sample of the Doctor. Or have Nicolas lied about that? Marvel couldn’t decide yet. Well the truth will pop up later, he just needs to bid his time. Marvel tried something, as the stasis field became transparent if it still held him bound. He tried a slight move, but his body didn’t budge. But at least his thermal signature can be seen through the transparent field. All he needed is time.
“The pains makes it hard for me to keep the machine that keeps me alive in check. I was wired into this with a pseudo kind of control. But… arrhhhh the pains… pains… makes it hard to think and focus. “ the cyborg said holding both side of his head twisting it one side to the other, his human eye squeezed shot in a parody of anguish.
“Well I can help you with that,” Marvel replied. “Just get me off this stasis field and I will make the pains stop permanently. “
Looking beyond the cyborg, Marvel noticed that the place they are in appears like an underground tunnel but with a door. That is because the roof of the place curve down at both walls of the room like the sides of a cylinder. The room would have been term empty if not for several electronic equipment arranged haphazardly and connected with heavy duty cables. Several monitors and a 3D screen were on. He could detect a mini but highly effective sat link console. The stasis field he was in was generated by an upright construct with a metal arc above with the sphere of the field aligned with it. Marvel noticed another good thing, he was not disarmed, he weapons, the few straps around his body were still where they were. Well two hand guns, a vibro blade and few grenades may not seem like much against this cyborg, but it’s better than nothing.

“Oh you are awake, I’m happy to see that. “. Marvel heard a voice speaking through the blue haze. “I was so afraid that after the heavy beatings you have taken, you may have been damaged beyond recovery. “
Marvel didn’t recognize the strange voice but it have this metallic undertones as if it is being spoken through a vox box. He saw a hazy image moved closer through the statis field. The field is a sphere just few centimeters off his body. He heard the familiar heavy thud sound of foot steps. Tbat wasn’t what surprised Marvel, the surprised is that he was kept alive.
“I’m sorry to restrain you this way, but it is for your safety. I will like us to talk but please don’t make any sudden move or it will be too late to stop myself this time. “
The bluish haze cleared and before Marvel was standing the cyborg. This time Marvel took some effort to study the biomechanical hybrid and noticed some subtle details he had failed to see initially. The black metal that the cyborg is made up of didn’t seem to have any seam or joint parts, it’s just like a bio body but formed of metal. Something flashed through his brain. Polyalloy or liquid metal. All that is still experimental and haven’t been successfully tested anywhere yet. Its appearance have the polish look of ceramic, it proves to Marvel that the metal is heavily dense. At the hands and arms there are thin lines of while lights which make twisted parts through them, that answers how the arms can reshape and form into guns. Now the face. The back part of the head is encased in the black metal, same with the skull and one side of the eye. But the other part is human and flesh. The flesh part seam like a decapitated head just in the start of decay. The flesh looks shrunken and held tightly to the bones beneath. When Marvel looked again at the human face, it couldn’t really shape into any emotion he could read because it was frozen in a dead mask form with but the single eyes said a lot, it is an eye that shows intense pain.

Chapter Six

It was the pains that yanked Marvel’s consciousness from the abyss of blackness it had sunk into. The pains at first were like tiny pin picks of needle points jabbing at his mind. Which later became tiny dots of lights within the all encompassing darkness. Later the full blown pain hit him and Marvel cried out as his eyes popped open. But he quickly closed them when the lights entering his eyes added to the pains. He felt his head pounding, a steady rhythm of constant thuds. Huge pain claws raked his back, waist, arms and legs. His neck felt stiff as if a heavy metal neck cuff is affixed there.
Vertigo threatened to overwhelm his sense when he tried opening his eyes the second time. He bit hard back against the bile pushing to pour out from his lips. Slowly he made the third attempt to open his eyes. A blue haze seem to cover everything he was seeing. After a while his brain began to make meaning of the sights assaulting his eyes. There could be one explanation for the blue hue covering everything he was seeing. It didn’t let him get a perfect fix on objects, just a hazy outlines. He tried puttiang his suspicion to test by attempting to move his limbs, but no single response. He wasn’t paralyzed, neither is he suffering from the after effects of stun. The pains and drowsiness can account for it, but his limps refusing to move speaks of something else. Also seeing a bluish haze just about clinch it, he is held captive in a stasis field.
