Hey buddy, I wouldn't worry so much about when they take in students. Just shoot your shot. As long as there is admission that semester. I believe there are only 3 semesters in an academic year. Fall, spring and summer. And how many schools take in students during winter..
|
Hello all. Landed New York yesterday without issues at the Port of entry. Thanks to all who helped. |
good morning everyone. I made a mistake booking my ticket. It states I am not allowed to enter the US until 30 days before the start date on my I-20. So here's the problem. My ticket is for July 31st to arrive August 1st. Start date is September 1st. It skipped my mind that August had 31 days and the earliest I can arrive is August 2nd. Called my travel agent to move the am date up e to 3 days but she is letting me know that there are no seats till mid September and due to summer prices have escalated. Could this pose a big problem to me? Thanks for your 2 cents guys. |
hi all! It's been a while. Hope everyone is good. I'm set to leave for New York very soon and I'm having major challenges with accommodation. I have searched and searched but no luck so I'm putting it out here in case someone knows somebody that knows someone who needs a housemate or anything please help a brother. They aren't joking with rent in New York. I can do New Jersey too if it's not too far. I'd appreciate anything for now. Thanks |
Hi guys. How is everyone doing? we are in trouble with this dollar thing. Who has dollars and willing to trade for naira at a fair rate? My bank seems to be hoarding the dollar and I really cant count on them. Help a brother. feels like we are about to suffer the great depression. |

Good morning Nairalanders, sorry wasnt able to post what i term as the shortest interview ever yesterday but I am taking time out to do that now. it took max 45 seconds but I really wasn't counting just I was in and out of there in a twitch. My interview was for may 6, 11am but my visa was approved at around 10 ish. After the rigorous process of standing in line and bio metrics, interview goes thus. The VO was a man in his early thirties... didnt even notice what number was on the window. VO : step forward please ME : Good morning sir VO : pass me ur passport ME : Passed everything including SEVIS receipt and i-20 VO : just your passport pls.. At this point i thought I had been too forward and was about to pay for it. every answer in my head vanished VO : requests for i-20 and sevis then says So you are going to Touro College in Manhattan, NY ME : Yes I am VO : Did you apply to any other schools? ME : yes sir, 2 other schools VO : types for a few seconds... Your visa has been approved........... and I went deaf the rest of the time he talked still cant comprehend how and why God favored me that much cos it is unmerited but I am grateful. Really dont know much people on this thread but special thanks to ashbammy, dickoflife, Ife (cant remember ur handle so we know each other on first name basis) your interviews are coming up and I pray and trust in God that they will be as easy as mine or easier. Thanks to all nairalanders. God bless you all for the help you are rendering to the lots on here. |
dickoflife:guy they approved my visa at around 10:15 am. Shortest interview. About 45 seconds. Driving now. Post transcript soon. |
cutemorgan:thanks @cutemorgan. |
good morning all. My interview is 11am this morning. Wish me luck guys. This place is ridiculous though. |
hello all, for some weird reason I am being locked out of printing my sevis payment confirmation. Is anyone else having this same issue? called the customer care and everything seemed to be fine on their end as regards my payment but one lady did say she had issues with her computer {SERVER) if you have paid your sevis fee, please try to view payment confirmation I need to be sure this is actually a server thing and not just me. Thanks. |
Habayomie:add me on whatsapp to show you 08074340893 |

Send me an email regarding the contact at unilag records office. What department did you finish from? |
Newww1:I've lost count self.. I get by with other stuff... |
Newww1:Me self just dey pass... No bad blood. How you dey? |
justwise:In trying to state the fact, please reason along with other people's posts cos we are all here for a reason. The main aim is to help one and other, not to open "police headquarters" here on nairaland. Just the other day, someone nearly paid 70k for a notarized affidavit, we advised him not to cos it was ridiculous. If we didn't, he might have ignorantly paid it. I'm sure you wouldn't have liked that. So by doing that are we all becoming barristers or turning this place into a notary public? Somethings are harmless. Its wise to speak only when necessary bruh. Good morning. |
justwise:This is a rather silly thing to say. Quite Ironic mr "justWISE" |
SeyiMiilan:If all your supporting documents are 3.7mb then you're good to go. Why not type your SOP and convert it to JPEG as you did the rest so it can match the formats of the other documents. Uniformity is key and it might go along way to say about you. That's my suggestion bro. Happy Sunday. |
SeyiMiilan:Hi bro, are you sure you converted to JPEG first? By the way, SOP is 3.7mb? Shouldn't be more than 90kb. Convert pdf to jpeg, shrink in MSword and merge. If you have to use corel draw to reduce its resolution, you should. |
yetundefadeyi:Eerrrm, This should be easy. Your current cgpa divided by the overall possible cgpa multiplied by 100 should give you the percentage. E.g 3.84/5.00 is 0.768 * 100 is 76.8 percent. That's an A standing. |
yetundefadeyi:Yeah, they sure do take their time.. That's the only way you can get somethin or close to that.. |
yetundefadeyi:Sounds like you need to send your transcripts to WES to have it evaluated. |
imadebaby:I think he should co-sponsor. |
Valid point McJimmy, very reasonable conclusion you arrived at. But of course, they do request sources of funds such as employment and all. Screening doesn't get better than that. That's why it takes time cod they have to verify all they can I presume. Mind you, drug lords are everywhere. The U.S. shares boundaries with one of the highest drug notorious countries in the world (Mexico). But I repeat, your point is very valid. |
