CrimeRe: Crises In Oluwo Palace In Osun Kabiyesi Runs For Safety by Dapyem(m): 5:15pm On Aug 08, 2016
I am an indigene of Iwo,i live in Iwo. What happened was that there are have been cases of kidnapping of children in d last few days. The Oluwo himself used town crier to warn d residents about this. So everybody has been on alert as a result of this. This morning a suspected kidnapper was caught by some indigenes and she was taken to d palace. The king then called the police to allow for interogation. But people wanted jungle and instant justice for this kidnapper. People then wanted to prevent police from taking d suspect away, and this was what led to d police shooting in d air and d bullet hit one indigene. This led to protest in front of d palace.
As for those of u that wished south west to be like any other region,it can never be because we dont condone criminality of any sort. Everthing is now calm now in Iwo as i type now.
God bless Iwo
God bless Osun
God bless Nigeria

*_The top 7 excuses on the road to success:_*

*“I’m not good enough.”*

_Reality: There are people not as smart, talented or experienced as you who got started and are already ahead of you._

*“I don’t have the time.”*

_Reality: Success doesn’t come from having time. It comes from making time._

*“I don’t have the money.”*

_Reality: You don’t need money to make money. You need a mission. Then deliver value to those who have the money._

*“I don’t know the right people.”*

_Reality: You can change who you know and who knows you today. Start by being the kind of person you would want to know._

*“It’s not the right time.”*

_Reality: There is always a right action in good times and bad times, which means it is always the right time._

*“It’s not that easy.”*

_Reality: No it’s not. Which is why most people never try, and most people never reach their full potential. But you’re not most people._

*“I don’t deserve it.”*

_Reality: Success isn’t earned by those who deserve most, but those who serve most._

*_What’s stopping you?_* _Success doesn't go to those who have the most ambition, but those who have the least excuses. Excuses are the brake pedals in life, and you can’t get going if the brakes are on._

*So start by replacing every excuse with action.*

PoliticsRe: INEC decleared Toto Federal Constituency Bye-election Inconclusive by Dapyem(m): 9:11pm On May 29, 2016
OLADD:
My friend, security at poll units is the sole responsibility of INEC as stipulated in the electoral statute. That's why Electoral Officers are empowered to announce postponement of elections where there's threat of violence or any act that runs foul of free and fair election. With Buhari's change agenda, Nigerians expect improved conduct of polls rather than gale of inconclusiveness.
We are all Nigerians,u and i know that security at polling units is not sole responsibility of INEC. INEC can only assign security given to her by the heads of security agencies, this does not even include soldiers/army. Only police and civil defence corps are given to INEC. And they dont even take instructions from INEC. Its only the C-in -C that is shouldered with this responsibilty and not INEC. Election violence can be blamed on the politicians and security agents not INEC.

These electoral laws were they there during Jega's reign?
If declaring an election inconclusive is alien to our law,am sure politicians would have been clinging onto dat at d election tribunal. So i think its not new.

OLADD:
So APC Change does not include departure from the usual snatching of ballot papers and over voting? Whose responsibility is it to conduct free and fair election?
Whose fault is dis departure from d usual snatching of ballot box and over voting? Is it INEC's fault? Just be sincere. If INEC shld announce a winner where there are cases of snatching of ballot boxea and over voting,am sure we still condemn INEC. Free and fair election does not include over voting and snatching of ballot boxes. Stop blaming INEC for what our politicians, security agencies and electorates are causing.

PoliticsRe: INEC decleared Toto Federal Constituency Bye-election Inconclusive by Dapyem(m): 3:33pm On May 29, 2016
Where is d fault of INEC in this case? It was said that d marginal diff btw the leading candidate and d first runner up is less than cancelled votes. And i think there was a court verdict on this issue and this is what INEC has been clinging onto in case like this. Is it INEC dat told d electorates to have over-voting? Is it INEC dat is causing violence or snatching of ballot boxes? Then why do we always blame INEC wenever there is an inconclusive election? INEC is guided by laws. If at all declaring an election inconclusive is illegal, why dont political parties/candidates/civil societies/even d electorates approach court to argue dis out?

The outside world is laughing at us while we go about fooling ourselves. A Canadian colleague and friend asked me during lunch today, to confirm that the Nigerian High School finalist (Chibok girl) rescued from Boko Haram can neither read, write, nor speak English. I shamelessly replied that she may be too traumatized to remember how to speak English.

I am wondering how else would I have defended this whole charade. The lies of our government is so pathetic that average westerner sees every black man as a liar and unreliable. Indeed Nigerians are the most populous blacks.

To the average westerner, Nigeria is indeed fanatically fantastically corrupt!!
I am not defending what has happened but dont use d fact dat she cant speak or write good english as an evidence to be a scam. As a teacher/examiner,I have once marked scripts of Barewa College in WAEC one year. And i can tell u dat u will neva bliv those scripts were for SS3 pupils. And i think Barewa is one of d best secondary schls in d north. Barewa is in a town/city(i think Zaria) while chibok is very very small village. So for pupils in d towns to write poor english like that den those in villages will be worse. My observation.
PoliticsRe: Subsidy Removal, the Reality And The Advantages. by Dapyem(m): 10:04am On May 13, 2016
Built2last:
It's not as though Nigerians do not know that fuel subsidy is long over due for removal but certain things have to be in place to cushion the effect.

First the president has to come clean and lead by example.
He has to do the following

Get the 4 refineries optimally running

Sell off 8 of the 11 presidential jets hanging at Abuja airpot and tell us what the money will be used for.

Increase tax on the rich. Like property tax. Own more than one property and pay heavy tax on the rest.

Get our rail ways up and running to ease transportation

Deploys policies that will check inflation.

Increase the minimum wage to atleast 50k

Call labour for negotiation afterwards and make public every deliberation.

The masses will support you.

This English you typed here op will not make sense to Nigerians next week bearing in mind that commodity prices will skyrocket without a corresponding increase in income of the people.

Taxi from Garki to Wuse in abuja that used to be 400 naira is now 800 naira.

A bag of rice I was told went to 25k from 15k yesterday.

A basket of tomato is 27k in Kano state today. That's where it's produced.

For your information, what the government did was price modulation to knock off subsidy payment by government. They have simply told the masses to pay. The petroleum sector was not deregulated. If you deregulate, you don't determine prices and so the government can not fix 145 naira. When you deregulate, you leave pricing to market competitors. Shell, Texaco, Chevron, Asda in UK, many other giants will move in to compete. They fix their prices and the masses can choose what price is most suitable for them. A good example is the telcom sector that was fully deregulated. Did you ever here the government telling MTN, Econet or Gloss how much to fix sim cards or charges on call? Because in a deregulated sector every manufacturer charges
based on the factors and modes of production.

For every cause there is an effect.

Any leader who puts his people first thinks of the immediate impact of his policies on the people and commodity prices.

I am #Built2last and I just want to correct your paradigm @op
God bless u for dix comment. The only reasonable analysis i have seen so far concerning dis subsidy removal. It is very objective. You are a Nigerian. You are are not a wailer neither are you a zombie.
