I chatted @Dam5reey privately on whatsapp about using a 585w Jinko Bificial panel alongside a mono of the same rating and he assured me its no problem, this was after I made my theroritical enquiries from GPT.

I installed the bificial on Tuesday making it a 1,170w system and the performance hasn't slowed down or anything. I've briefly seen a maximum of 970w on my controller ( it has a limit of 1040w for 12v) so I may never get the max rating. Got it for 112k on jiji so zero losses made if i got a mono. For the weight, it is slightly heavier than the mono by a few kgs. Frankly I don't give a toss about the 30% extra

just putting it out there for anyone who wants to buy.

Use a 12v system

2kva inverter - 280k
3 550w panels - 360k
Cworth 2.5kwh battery - 430k
Thanks to everybody who gave suggestions on this, I've been able to install something for them at home.

2 * 450w panels
1.5kva inverter
Taico LifePo4 battery 12v 200ah gotten from @Dam5reey1
my old PWM controller (will change it in a month)

I was able to squeeze ₦1m to get them done alongside cables, accessories and workmanship.

God bless

Taico available 220k
Cworth 12V 100AH. From Monday 187k
Good afternoon boss, I'm trying to decide what to get for my people in a 12v system and this Taico or CWorth battery seems to fit the bill.

Do you think I go for the 200ah variant of either or just get this 100ah? The load audit isn't more than 200 - 250w per day with ~ 6 hrs grid daily.

Kindly drop your contact so I make the purchase from you 🙏

My personal experience is it is no better than a Cworth battery and I would only recommend if you get an extremely low price or are buying multiple units.

If you will only buy one of the 12v 100ah and need full capacity, buy something else.
Thank you Baba 🙏

The battery has been around for a while and someone did a capacity test on the 12v 100ah lifepo4 battery on TikTok. The result was fantastic, it pulls 110ah from it. The Company is suffering from inadequate marketing.

Dam5reey1 sells the 12v 100ah for N220,000.00
Thank you boss. I really appreciate

Programmed Home Assistant using YAML for various automation, and created sensors from mqtt stream from SA. Influxdb for database. It also shows live individual power consumption of each devices in the house through smart plugs HA integration and custom auto-entites.

Since we going all in on renewable energy, gas hobs were replaced with ‘real’ induction cooker (max 3000w on highest settings with all 4 burners on, enamel cast iron pots).

Average daily load 30kW (Home Assistant programmed to do load management automatically, with pv forecast, so 3 AC, Induction hob, water heater, microwave , airfryer etc, every device is connected and will never exceed the 6000W rating of the inverter)

100 percent off grid, ie Island mode, no physical connection to grid. The wife is happy, I’m happy.

Grid erratic fluctuations made me avoid it till now. Grid here is even 180v and still fluctuates and can surge anytime.

It is better for inverters to pass through a "stabilizer" at least.

DONT TRUST NAIJA GRID.
Haa wàhálà o.

Our grid too dey very low so the protector (abinna breaker) cuts off power before it gets in the Inverter if it goes below the threshold (170v by default).

But as per say we rarely do 170v (we mostly get 150-162v on the average), I set the threshold to 150v.

Now I'm thinking that's not a good idea. 🥹

You actually don't need target savings for the Lithium grin.Just assume you want to replace the tubular and use the funds to replace with LFP.

Good tubular ranges between 280k-300k.Replacing 2 units is like 600k.That will get you an equivalent LFP. Add some change, you get higher capacity LFP.Shikena!!!If you state your budget for the battery, people will give you more than enough options.
Ọmọ!! I no too get bar for battery now.

How did you connect the panels.
I think the installer connected the 2*300w in series and paralleled the 585w with them

The charge controller has an app you can download on your phone and connect via Bluetooth. You will be able to see how your panels are performing

You might experience this if your panel is not able to give you the required load consumption. It will take the rest from the battery.

You would need to do further testing to be sure what is the root cause.
Okay thanks I'll check it out

Good morning guys, please I need help with my MPPT controller. I can't seem to get it to charge my battery even though there is PV input.

This is 10am, I drained the battery to 12.0v overnight and by 7.30am it had already gotten to "full" level at 12.8v and started flashing (mppt mode off), I plugged about 323w of load in it because it was pulling in like 560+w at the time.

To my suprise, the inverter voltage went down to 11.9v (22% load). After 2 hours I removed the fridge to about 14% load and the voltage went to 12.1v. funny enough the mppt still maintained that the battery is full and so it refuses to charge the battery or fast. I have the Manual with me and I don't know how to go about it.

My system: 12v 200ah tubular battery, 2*300w and 1 585w panel.

Hi, I use your exact inverter too and the two occasions I've had the MCB Trip issue was an unusual power surge (from Nepa) so the inverter trips to protect itself. If I raise the trip at the back up it works after the current stabilizes.

I think your charge controller might be the issue too, I use an 80A mppt that can take 1040w but I have a 1185w PV array.. a little close to the specs.

If you check the trip at the back and is down u can try raising up if it will come up

If your load is max fan, with your budget, will advice you go for serchet inverter.. 24v own and powmr cc the 2 are under ₦200k maybe ₦190k something the cworth battery the oga bise said 12200 own at ₦555k.. Then jinko 555w x2 ₦300k...wire and the rest you should be fine with 1. Something million..
Thanks for this boss...

I want to install a setup for my people at home, my installer gave me a quotation of 1.6m for the following:

2.5kva inverter
2 * 200 AH tubular batteries
4 * 300w panels.

I obviously won't be getting the tubular batteries with the knowledge i got here, i just want to know if there is a Lithium equivalent so I can purchase these parts myself?

Moreso, with a budget of 1.2m - 1.3m, will i have this?

Our load audit:

3 ceiling fans (might replace with energy-saving standing fans)
1 LED TV
5 bulbs

To best of my knowledge, 300Watts panels ain't 12-volts Ooo. they're classified as 24-volts even though they could even give you upwards of 30-volts.

12-volts (~17 to 18 volts) Solar panels have wattage in the range of 100w to 200w .

Well mayBe I am not so up to date
I no understand but I currently have 2 300w panels for my 12v system sha

Hi Bro,

Please what is your PV configuration like when you were using Powmr?
Quantity of panel? Wattage and Voc?
Surprised to see more than 50 amps on a 12V setup. Would love to generate same.
I'm interested in this Powmr 60A mppt discussion and I don't think I understand the technical terms given in the suggestions.

I also have a 12v, 2 * 300w panels and plan to add

like 500-600w with an mppt controller based on advice I got here.

The only thing stopping me from getting it on jumia is that 720w for 12v systems.

Please if you say 2s2p kindly break it down for some of us who are technically-challenged. That way I can guide my installer on how to go about it.

Thanks

Yes ,with 300k you will get good grade A LFP 12.8v 1.28kw which is equivalent in capacity to 12v 200ah tubular but better because you can discharge to 90% with no effect on battery. But considering your tubular is just 4months old,I guess you will still enjoy it for at least 3 years if you do not discharge beyond 50% capacity and charge back immediately after use .

Its only 4 months old and doing well but I want to upgrade to a litium one when the time comes.

is it possible to see for 300k or lower?

Psady:
Please tell us when u did capturing, and if the officers didnt try to extort you before capturing and receiving your passport?
I had like to use same Alausa soonest why the question.
Okay so I need to commend the Alausa office for their proffessionalism. I registered January 3rd, went for the appointment January 6th.

The portal rejected my birth certificate (older than the cutoff year for NPC cert) so i went to Igbosere to get an affidavit.

This time the portal placed it on "pending verification" or something like that. On getting to the Alausa around 9 am, I noticed a small crowd of 10-15 people in the main lobby. A middle-aged man came up to me, got my slip and went in with my affidavit and within 10 mins came back, told me to refresh the portal. I did and it came as "Vetted".

He told me to go outside to reprint, I did, came back to him after he directed me to the capturing room. The capturing took less than 15 mins and the man too there was all smiles. Gave me my slip and told me to have a nice day. All less than 30 mins in total.

Meaning I did my biometrics, capturing and got my collection slip that same day.

For the collection, I was waiting endlessly for the portal to change the final progess as "printed" so i could go not knowing that it has already been printed 2 weeks after. I went yesterday, the small office by the right, told the woman i came for collection.

She told me to snap my slip, submitted same and waited. After about 30 mins my name was called and my passport was given.

"Have a nice day" was all she asked of me cheesy

NOBODY extorted me
