Foreign AffairsRe: Captain Ibrahim Traoré Says Burkina Faso Must 'forget' About Democracy by darichlife(m): 2:55pm On Apr 04
Akalia:
Democracy is abused in Africa. The system of governments that will thrive in Africa is monarchical and autocratic system.
Authority is not always the truth, but the truth is authority on its own.

No serious nation borrows a system of leadership from their oppressors. The serious awareness that must be debated amongst African youth is weather we want this democracy or not.

I have always maintained that the storm that will sweep Nigeria will surely start from the north. A place where dreams are not talked about, a place where hungry is a tool used to keep the people in servitude, a place where lives have no meaning.

This is high time we don't vote for any Fulani person to become president of Nigeria, a vote for Fulani is a vote for destruction of lives and properties. Buhari came and left a deadly legacy behind.

No more Fulani president in Nigeria.
Foreign AffairsRe: ECOWAS Suspends Guinea-Bissau After Military Takeover by darichlife(m): 7:58pm On Nov 28, 2025
Putindbutt:
A very fantastic decision by ECOWAS, these bunch of tadpoles called military coupists won't take you seriously if ECOWAS doesn't put its feet down.
Where are Nigerian opposition?, why are they not crying, wailing and shouting the name of the Sierra Leone's President under whose leadership ECOWAS suspended Guinea Bissau?. Oh, I forgot, President Bio is not running for election in Nigeria, therefore, they can't use his name to score cheap political points. You can imagine if Tinubu was still ECOWAS President, imagine all kinds of things wailers would have been saying about Tinubu. When Tinubu was handling the situations in Niger, Mali and Burkina Faso with iron fist, wailers were screaming all over the place, forgetting that if you failed to send a strong warning, you're laying a ground work for bad precedent. And that's what you have now, where military tadpoles could truncate a democratic system at will. I will also be waiting for Gen Yakubu Gowon to write President Bio asking him to restore Guinea Bissau like he pleaded with Tinubu. Yakubu Gowon also share a part of the blame in this.
Wailers, why are you not screaming President Bio's name like you did to Tinubu?, is it because you can't use his name to get votes in 2027?. Nigeria's opposition are the dullest bunch on earth.
And to those justifying coup because of France's influence in some African countries, what would you say about Guinea Bissau, are they trying to liberate themselves from Portugal, hence the coup?
Wake up student. This is not time to be doing business with democracy. We must start to determine our own future by ourselves.

And you think that

1. Army rule is not subject to the same thing?

2.And just because you are not the puppet of the USA...does not mean that you can't be the puppet of russia, china, etc...

3. No army government, whether pro-west or anti-west, has left any african country in a better state . Because they are from the same mass as the politicans they displaced.
Turning to Russia or China has nothing to do with serving another master, in this situation they do business on your own terms which is what every independent nation should do, not allowing foreigners determine the means of extraction and distribution of your goods and services. It is better we have people who respect us and treat us as equals, not people who will sponsor terrorists to destabilize our countries for their own selfish interest
Foreign AffairsRe: Mali’s Military Government Dissolves Political Parties by darichlife(m): 3:23pm On May 14, 2025
nairalanda1:
It is kind of funny to see people on this thread dissing democracy.

Don't get me wrong. All our leaders since 1999 have been...make no mistake...a dissapointment and disgrace to me. I honestly believe that we could have done better. And the first and second republic were corrupt cesspits...and the first republic had serious secrurity issue.

But then, they call for army rule, because apparently the army will come and make things better. And of course, most of the people calling for army rule are Obidients...surprise, surprise. I recall back in 2014, that many of the people calling for the army then...are now Tinubu supporters and defenders of democracy. Some are even saying that the politicans have sold our soul to the west....lol.

Well, you know that the same thing was said in 1965 and 1983. Army take over please. And we know the result. The army takeover of 1966 led to four years of criisis, including a brutal civil war that led to millions dying. For nothing. The 1983 takeover gave us 15 years of harsh army rule, with the last 6 years being the harsh old days of Abacha, where towards the end, Abacha badges were becoming de rigeur. Abacha, many forget was the first leader to develop a personality cult....fortunately he died when it was still in its infancy.

Many of you chanting for democracy to end are angry, like me, that we haven't gotten the leaders we want. Yeah, that's fair. But at the end, army rule was just politicans in uniform. All the army rulers in africa...the past ones...whether they supported the west or the soviets...turned out to be....you guessed it....a mess. No African country developed into a first world country under army rule...unlike South Korea under General Park. And that is because the army rulers did exactly what the civillians do. No changes.

And some of you need to get rid of your bitterness. Had we had no army coup in 1966, or even 1983, by now we would have had a mature democracy.

And don't be fooled by Burkina, and Mali. We saw the same story in Benin, Congo PR, and even Somalia and Ethiopia. All of them got leaders who back then in the 1970's were chanting anti-west slogans. And the result....their countries are in a mess.Ethiopia and Somalia even disintegrated into war, and Somalia has been in a mess since then. The congo PR guy is all that is left from those days, and even he is now a slave of the West....lol. Yet , all you need to do is shout antiwestern slogans, and human rights abuses and so on are all forgiven.

I mean, would any one of you hailing these people like to be sent to Sambisa to fight boko because you criticised tinubu's fight against boko.? Or would you be forced to join the fight against bandits because you say that the government is doing nothing about them? Yet y'all cheer for men who did the equivalent of such things.

Africa and Nigeria's problem is simple. We rely on resources . Selling resources. Whose. Prices. We. Do. Not. Control.

And because of that revenue is shitty, which leads us to taking loans. Yes, both the pro and antiwest governments...because at the end of the day, we can't tax our people because we are too poor for an income tax system. Yet, we blame the west...not our refusal to change our ways.

I mean, Nigeria has discovered lithium...and no investor has been invited to develop factories to manufacture stufffrom it. Burkina has gold...and essentially they have signed agreements to give the russians the gold...instead of using it to develop an industry around it..gold can be used for many products....

Honestly, all you need to decieve Africans is to shout 'USA is evil' (which is not a lie. Let's be honest) and all things will be added onto you. Even if you are as evil as Idi Amin...who was doing that all day long...and when he got thrown out...the extent of the human rights abuses under his rule were so bad, it was basically like ...horror. Some of his prision camps run by his secret police were human abbatoirs...and I am not joking. Yet if most of you were alive in the 1970's, you will have cheered for him because he said the whites are evil.
What you must understand is that democracy demands that foreigners will always have their puppet in government, overriding the desires and determination of the country, puppet leaders do not serve the nation except to fulfil the interest of those who put them in power. We cannot continue to live like this for another decade, things are getting out of hand and out of control
Foreign AffairsRe: Mali’s Military Government Dissolves Political Parties by darichlife(m): 3:19pm On May 14, 2025
zoedew:
Traore hailers must understand that the worst government in a democracy bests the most efficient of military governments. It is the duty of the citizen in a democracy to use his vote through election cycles to shape and sharpen democracy to deliver the dividends it holds. If democracy is not working it is the fault of the citizen who chooses to sell his vote or is indifferent about democracy. In Togo I suspect the latter is the reason why their brand of democracy is hereditary!
You missed the point. Democracy has been abused and used for the wrong purpose in Africa, our leader do not care about electoral processes because money can buy anybody. It is getting too much

They have infiltrated all Nigerias security structure.

But let me say this their end is near.

This is how they loot all the monies meant for project in the states.

PoliticsRe: Population Outgrows Economy Amid Rising Dependants, Misery by darichlife(m): 10:40am On Dec 14, 2023
The most annoying thing here is that we have rulers who lack the vision to change the situation of the people.

The fact remains that this population problem is not much of a problem to them but the middle class. We are struggling with too many ills in the society which are motivated by poverty, China's population is helping them grow faster because such population is been put into good use by the government. Here as our population increases so does our wealth but not the condition of the masses.

Only the government benefits from this arrangement.
PoliticsRe: Population Outgrows Economy Amid Rising Dependants, Misery by darichlife(m): 10:35am On Dec 14, 2023
MASTAkiLLAh:
I don't think Nigeria has an overpopulation problem, I witnessed the last census and saw where palm kernel was used to create finger prints on the census forms in a particular state, those who travel regularly also know there are vast swathes of empty lands especially in the interior areas and semi empty communities mostly due to rural - urban migration. What we have is a country suffering from the effects of severe governmental kleptomania since at least 1960 which affected every single sector of the polity from local government to the federal level. The has been a deliberate implementation of non development across the country despite the hundreds of billions of dollars pumped into the economy in the name of infrastructure and intervention programmes which are promptly stolen by those in authority unfortunately, we've reached a situation whereby governments can't fund big infrastructure anymore because there's simply no money anywhere and no one wants to lend us any more money. Your country's COP28 junketeering was duly noted so the next question is how to raise cash to finance our budgets going forward, it's as simple as president Tinubu actually going after corrupt individuals and or their family members/proxies from previous administrations at least from 1983 then use whatever tens of trillions recovered should be used judiciously while trying to stabilize the country. This isn't the time for sentiments or loyalty because Nigerians are very hungry right now and where just at the edge of violent crimes becoming a norm eg, kidnapping has started in Lagos and it's on the rise which didn't used to happen before cool
The most annoying thing here is that we have ruler who lack the vision to change the situation of the people.

The fact remains that this population problem is not much of a problem to them but the middle class. We are struggling with too many ills in the society which are motivated by poverty.
