This has always been stereotypical since Nigeria’s independence. Only a few people know this is voluntary.

There are other small and businesses in NIgeria in certain sectors in NIgeria which do not allow their staff to join labour union and you won’t hear this because they are not dealing with cabals that hold NIgeria down.

The main point is you'll never hear a Yoruba disrespect his host or called their land "no man's land" or claim to be the one that "developed" it. Yorubas integrate and respects their hosts. They're grateful to the land of their host for whatever riches they are able to get there, not claiming to be better or denigrating their hosts.
