stagger: Hmm. This is beginning to sound like trading on the floors of the commodity markets. The price of going up and coming down is only for this month of august, once the price shot up in middle september .then its up for real. |
LONGFELLOW02: Ok sir, Pls update us when the price come down. You can buy it any location but i insisted in those market cuz customers follow you down to the market . No need of marketing. No need of meeting me bro, u are in garaku then u nt far from lafia.its do it urself business., I already met with some few silent follow and am waiting to meet the last person and also d young big importer who also built a great.....dat is also hot sell item here on nairaland lolz ![]() |
dasanchez1: Dats it broYou're welcm and thank you. |
LONGFELLOW02: Boss the price don increase o. .am planing to visit lafia on Monday or Tuesday. . Is it ok to buy@18k per bag? Hw much is undry egusi per bag for nw?At this moment price is 19200 naira. The price will still come down any when rain fall on market day and disturb the market day...august is the best month to buy when we are out of august.from september down the price will really shot up...raining determind the price. |
charony: PLEASE, HOW MANY KG IS IN THE SIZE 29 BAG? Please what is the cost of transporting to Anambra state? I REALLY WANT TO KNOW WHAT SIZE 29 BAG IS LIKE. THANKSGo through the post u will see how many kg. No idea of transportation fare. Only buy, store and resell at same market point. |
Update... As for today and as for this moment there is price increase of egusi in alamis market in lafia. The current selling price is 18k as for this moment of today. 5k increase from last week to today. We are making progress |
dasanchez1: yea. I received his call yestaday concerning that. Thank you once again. Tested and trusted boss. You're appreciate |
its simple .create nigeria paypal account, get it verified by linking it with your naira visa or master card.then you are good to go. You dont need funding as you will be charge directly from your bank account |
LONGFELLOW02: Boss Dav8id weldone sir, pls is their any risk in this biznes?Life entirely is risk. You dont need marketing to resell it. Thats why i said you need someone in the market to monitor the price movement for you. You already store it in the public store in the market or you rent a room and store. When the price raise, your price monitor or agent whatever will alert you and you do what you think is the best to resell your storage. Every month go done the price increase .eg we are in august now and the price is cheaper now.once we enter september the price increase. Note you have to becareful when buying cuz you might endup buying undry egusi whice its not good for storage but if you can have a means of drying it then buying undry egusi is the more profitable but you will redry it for just two days after buying. The local agents have a means of detecting dry and undry egusi. Customers from different state visit the market in large numbers for purchase. You can resell your product whenever you want but the longer you store the higher the profit percentage. A visit to lafia will give you more insight. |

stagger: Sesame seed is also called benniseed, or "ridi" in Hausa. It is an oily seed with many food and industrial uses. A collaboration between MARKETS (an agribusiness oriented NGO) and OLAM Nigeria Ltd (a multi-billion dollar commodity buying company) has ensured that sesame farmers in Nasarawa state get a guaranteed market for their product by supplying same to OLAM. I personally want to go into it next year as the return on investment approaches 65% with good agric practices.Well said and sesame is our main targeted commodity. We are unable to meetupwith the higher demand of sesame by our numerous international buyers but this year will be differ as we put all measure and increase our sources base now. |
ejibaba: Chei...Agricultural Investment is the way forward now...But storage business no doubt is capital intensive most especially if it is with an intention to sell you sure need good money to enjoy it.Thank God ur eyes can c and unstd dat there is money in agricuture1 |
dasanchez1: so wonderful. The guy really appreciate ur work. Thank you.the band is ready for pickup |
FarmTech: ..i dont have idea on how to become the local agent but the agent have union. A visit to the market will give you more insight. I cant openup for you on olam nig, they are already part of us fully (sesame business) sorry for that |
@Op great job here, you are doing the totural while some dudes are busy calling me on phone and asking me questions instead of droping their question here na wa ooh.+ well. For the proposal letter the best of doing that is to do it through ALIBABA BUYING REQUEST . Buying request can be found at the top right hand of the website. Once you send your proposal letter through the buying request. More than 20 suppliers will contact you in respond to your buying request and its a good chance to get a good bargain. Again as ymodolus said, never be in rush to make a conclusion in price, always post and tell them that you want will contact your boss and get back to them.+ |
chiefkpokp: Yea nice! My aliexpress seller or friend have already done that for me since last year, I have everyway to pay any seller on any china site, But 1 reason why I use this my chinese friend for bulk purchase is because of d relationship and trust for him mind, the advantage why I use him is that, he can buy goods worth of 26000RMB (62,000naira eguivalent) for me and send to judy, and he gives me 3weeks some times to pay him, and sometimes unexpectedly I pay him on time, so this is one reasons why I always use him. Moreover those chineses sellers knows well more than us how to deal with their fellow niggaz, and there are some kind of purchase u just leave for them to handle, the only way he gets its own share to negotiatte for 1688 is when d seller reduce prices, but na e luck, e laboured for it........ Its jst a difference of 35-60rmd.If you talk about trusth then there is not need for ur trusted chinese frd 2 help u buy frm 1688.com The best bet is to tell him exactly what u want maybe even show him picture and let him go to the factory and make ur purchase . Thats my style oo. Cuz u get a better deal at the factory. |
stagger: Why not just store the yam by building a yam barn? That was how the Igbos used to do it and indeed, the wealth of an Igbo man in those days was measured by the size of his yam barns and the contents.Different method from different society |
daemperor1: Pls tell us d best time to buy and sell.Refer to the 1st post and u will get ur answer there. |
stagger: Before we see the money flow, I have questions:storage cost is N300 to N500 per bag per year.i suggest if you are buying morethan 20 bags then rent a room in lafia.you can get room at 12k for a year. You buy in the market, you store in the public store in the market. Inside the market there are many different public store. A visit to the market will give you more insight as u claimed u own company in nasarawa state. Yes the agent has a trace and the have a union. How to security? Oh yes that is ur duties to put all security measure on ur side ,cuz even in bedroom u are not safe. |
i was here 04th,augus.2014 when ymodulus was the chairman ![]() |
thank God the guy said he make money from the business but its very risky . Any risky in cash and carry ? You see the produce, your local agent tested it and confirm it if its well dry and good for storage .so what is the risky here.@All i urge someone to just make a trip to that market and see money d flow.. |
yam storage is very simple though i did not involved on it but many of my friends and family member do the business, you can buy yam at cheapest price from same market i mentioned in my egusi thread. All what you need to do is to make sure the yam avoid direct contact with the floor if it happen you store it in a room. You need to spread sand in the room then spread dry grasses on top of the sand and then you lay the yam on it in stantding position. |
jamp: Hello fellow farmers.i opened this thread for us to rob minds on how to effectively process and store farm produce. Storing farm produce is another way of making money in addition to what we are doing already.Thank you for seing the portatial of farm produce storage business.yes someone created a thread on melon storage and that person is ME but let me correct you. The size of the bag is 29 not the amount, last year we purchase it at 14k and 15k and the size of the bag is 29. Some resell at 28k after storage of 2 to 3 months and some resell at 48k after storage of 6 to 7 months.. |
@All using agents is not by force only if you stay with lafia or closer to the market location. Reason is. You dont buy and resell it at once, it need to be store for a period of 2 months and above. The price dont just raise and remain raising but it can raise and fall within some hours and it may remains for days or week. Your agent help and alert you when the price raised. Again i did said you have total control of your money, all what you need to do is to visit the market yourself and get some more additional info you might and also knw when to be visiting the market.then you visit the market when its due for you, your purchase local agent wil do the purchase at your presence and you yourself make the payment after the purchase.ITS CASH AND CARRY. Local purchase agents are known channels of agro commodities trading its only he who knw nothing in agro produce trading will reject the service of agents. |
PURITYMYPRIDE: my dear nairalanders, dealing with these local agents are the greatest risk you can take.more than 90% of them are criminals. I advice if you don't have a God fearing hand in this business, please don't go for it.I made money in this business when I was in the north.it is very risky to allow a total stranger to handle your business.I did it by myself when I was there.God bless you allI think you have a different motive here and by all indication yOU NEVER PRACTICE AGRO PRODUCE BUSINESS. The ultimate Olam Nig, when the start in our sesame market. The start with local purchase agent after a while the recruited same agents as their company staff bro. Again i did mentioned that one can recruit hes trusted representative and such person can be your agent. |
stagger: I want to ask a question, and I will do so publicly.I'm not a local agent but he who invest in the business.in short i'm into agro produce trading,b4 the data lost on nairaland you will notice my thread on local supplying of sesame ,cashew nut and charcoal. the chairman of nasarawa state sesame is my boss in short we have agro produce company. I stand to nothing ,cuz this thread is mainly for some individual here whom learnt the local supplying business of agro produce from me see another avenue of getting started . Again i think i make it clear and listed the location and the market to purchase the commodity.... |
tranxo: Seems a lot of things are left in the hands of these purchase agents. How trustworthy are they?lYou cant be a successful agro produce trader without local agent. Either you trust them and do business with them or you recruite your local agent from someone you trust and inject him in the market by following all their requirement of being the a local agent in the market. Thats what the ultimate Olam Nig did in the saseme market. By the process of injecting ur personal agent in the market is what i dont knw but a simple visit to the market by u and make the full enquirement will do u gud. |
iraycom: thank you very much so what is the cost of a bag and when i am reselling what am i expecting and how long should i store i dont mine i can dry it my self and which farm product one buy and storeAnswer to your question is in the first post. |
magabounce: I was about creating a thread on nl about help on snail farming bfr i stumbled on ur thread. I might call u later as regardz d melon storage. But is there anyway u cn enlighten me more abt snail farming or better still gv me directions. ThanksI have no idea on snail farming sir. Egusi, sesame , ginger ,cashew and charcoal are my area. |
iraycom: what of the cost and profit marginYou are new in agro world by indication, agro business profit is not fixed as price raise and fall within a few hours. But go through the 1st page of the thread you wil have idea of what the profit might be. |
iraycom: shelled melon the cost of basin and how long should i store before i resell and what is the profit like and what are the riskNever involved in buying in basin,so i have no idea on that.our discussion is dealing in bags. |
Dokitadotun: @dav8id, welldone for being selfless. The name of the market is assakio, presently the melons r wet, if u store it will get rotten. david may shed more light on this. Our targeted produce is the dry melon thats why i said work with the local purchase agent.they knw how to detect the dry ones by using iron to chucks through the bag of the melon,if its a dry one it wil went through but if its not the iron will just go in a little. For the market i mentioned 4 local market included assakio . Morealso one can also buy undry ones at low price and ur purchase agent can handle the drying aspect for you.its just a matter of arrangement. |
