Don't marry a man that is trying so hard to be stable financially and expect him to carry the whole burden. Go for an already made man .

I say NO and NO again.
It does not give women more responsibility in anyway.
I was born and bred up in my home town in Edo but schooled in other parts of Edo and i never saw where that culture was practiced.

To some extent one may be tempted to agree with you on that from the Benin people culture; but it is absolutely wrong to make a general conclusion cos Benin only constitutes about 10% of the entire Edo state.

But how did u get your wrong information anyway?
How many Edo guys have u dated?

Edo state still has far more than those tribes u have mentioned.
My point is this; don't generalize ok.

I don't know why people are attacking her sha! Her husband was the one who told her that laziness in men was an Edo tradition. Having lived in Benin City all my life, I can't help but agree with that!

Edo men do not have the same orientation about being the major bread winner that tribes like say Igbo do! It's in Edo State that I've seen a woman building a house and then marrying a husband to live with.

Women almost have the same right and responsibilities as men. They sit in at village meetings, make critical decisions and get properties equally when the father dies!

So guys, easy on the lady . . . she does have a point!

Is Benin City the whole of Edo state
Are u not aware that Edo State has over 10 different tribes with different cultures and languages?

Ask questions if some issues are not clear to you, rather than jumping into wrong conclusion and misleading the public on sensitive issue like this.
I make bold to say; that u are VERY wrong. Edo men are not lazy.

Am from Edo.
We don;t collect money from our wives to take care of the home. It is the man's responsibility to take care of his home. However, the wife can assist him when the need arises or the wife can support him when his finances are rough.

Is a mutual understanding really.

I think u should even consider the existence of your present relationship first b4 deciding on whether your ex still exits or not.

Do u really love your current guy?
Cos if u really love your current man, u are likely not to have feelings for your ex.

Then, there is a problem.
I had a similar experience some years back.

We broke up but the feelings never left. She was engaged to another man while i was still searching for good replacement.
We ended up having some flings and we were satisfied at least.

I have seem so many people in this kind of tight situation.
If the two people involved are married; capital NO.
But if they are just dating and the other ex also has same feeling; what are u waiting for
