adewasco2k: I would like to know the make and model of your computer..but as a guru said, try to load it via safe mode and see! If that didn't work...try this: while the computer is about booting press F2 to goto bios setting....I can't remember well but locate where you see anything SATA if enable, disable it...if disabled enable it! I have solve such a problem using this method....one way of the other it switch itself and makes your HDD not to be accessible. Goodluck and make sure to come back with feedback

Could not find SATA but disabled ACHI under advance in the setup utility and my system is working normal at the moment.

mdsocks: ok...have you tried entering through safe mode...i.e. press f8 while the system is starting up and select safe mode... report back...

There is no external hard drive, did the last known configuration, but also comes up with the blue screen.

adewasco2k: that is Blue Screen Of Death (BSOD,The blue screen usually occurs when your Windows operating system (OS) detects a problem or error that will not allow it to continue working properly.

truly you cant be sure what caused it but you can figure it out. so let me walk you through some troubleshooting which i can remember now.
1. if you remember installing a program lately, uninstall it, it might not be cool with your configuration.
2. if any external hardware is connected, remove it i might not be compatible.
2. restart your system, whule its about to boot, press F8 and select Last Known Good Configuration. may be you did a setting which will not work well, this will date you to the last setting before the problem.
3. this can also come up when you are been attacked by virus, so do a virus scan.

you can also check the System and Application logs in Event Viewer for more clue about what went wrong.

Pls how do i go about this "a problem has been detected and windows has been shut down to prevent damage to your computer" check for viruses on your computer, remove any newly installed hard drives, run CHKDSK /F to check for hard drive corruption, and then restart your computer. on windows xp.

System wasn't shut down properly now this appears on the blue screen.

favour112: I have a very big issue with my multitv signal strength and i need your help,guys.
A week ago or there about,i noticed that the signal quality of my multitv channels were fluctuating,it normally stays at 70%,then whenever this fluctuation starts,you see the signal moving down ward and finally stops at maybe 40,45,50,55% waving up and down, while this is happening ,it begins to skip with so much loud noise,then sometimes it goes to the point where it show NO OR BAD SIGNAL,this will stay for a while, maybe for 5mins or more then before going upward to 70% and stays there maybe for another 20mins and it starts over again going up and downward. sometimes in between 10:30pm to 7am in the morning it stabilize,i mean "sometimes"but from 8am till evening,its skipped heavily.
my connections is a two lnb on a single dish(multitv and w3c/amos5) this fluctuation thing only affects that of the multi tv,why this fluctuation is happening,all the w3c/amos5 channels are well stable even though their signal quality is just 60%.
when this problem started ,i thought probably the lnb must have shaken a little bit,i went up there to do some touching,but it continues although i got 75% against the 70% i use to get,but the skipping continues,then i thought the lnb was bad,i changed it,i thought it was the wire ,i change that of the multi tv alone,then i also changed the diseqc switch,then the problem persist.Today i got a separate dish for the multi tv and the % went up to 89% ,at first the problem stopped,i was happy but after some hours it started again. Right now i dont know what to do. i am so confuse. please guys is there anything you can recommend i need your help on this...
