So, I finished reading the book by Neil Gaiman, it explains everything.

Shadow is Odin's son(Mr Wednesday), Leprechaun got killed in the end including Mr. Wednesday, Mr world(Loki) is an old god. He and Odin were looking for blood and sacrifices, they acted the whole thing up to stir the war btwn the old and new gods.
