Okay, people are different. I am different. It's okay to walk away when you aint feeling the relationship or when you have a concrete reason. You talked about breaking up for a silly reason and I said and still mantain that I will shuk him knife wink I don't just go into a relationship with the mindset of exploring alone. Yes, I want to learn but for me to even agree to be with you over time, I would want something more. Breaking up must be on a solid reason and not because he has a cough and cannot continue the relationship.

If I don't see a future with someone, I'd make it clear, everything mutual. I won't waste the person's time and hurt that person at the end. That's selfish and wicked.

I still believe in Karma. If the person asks for God's forgiveness genuinely, I think all is forgiven. Afterall, what you sow, you must reap smiley
dis ur "shook him him knife" line don make me laff skara.

U be warri babe?

So if I date you and want to break up, maybe becos am just tired of the whole ish, u go "shook me knife" abi? Damn! I wish I can warn ur bf in case he has any such plans.

U know if karma was out for everyone, u'd be probably be in coma by now for all the wrongs u've done in ur lifetime, plus all the innocent guys u've hurt too.

u ar wasting ur partner time cos u hv oda plans for urself but she thinks u having plans for ur relationship.

that's wickedness.... find someone who share ur causal relationship view not someone who sees u as husband.
Now dats a very correct statement. But wot happens when u stop seeing her as a potential wife and she still sees you as a potential husband?

EverLily:
Silly reasons? Seriously?
When I date someone, I tend to give it my all. If we never agreed on a future together, it's fine. If he breaks up for just any reason, then that's very insensitive and he should remember that karma is gonna catch up with him.

Like I said earlier, I will shuk him knife angry
U dont get it at all.

I was gisting with a friend and she was complaining dat her bf left him "after everything". All she wanted was for me to join her and condemn the act. How do you guys even define dis "after everything" sef?

But I saw it differently. Anybody has the right to change his mind. I think the only time anybody looses his right to walk out of any relationship just like dat, is when both parties are legally married. Even at dat der is a process called divorce.

I think our problem is we attach so much importance to "dating-relationships" like there is a constitution dat it MUST be permanent.

Pls is there any law like dat?

About karma, wot abt all the female gold-diggers? Wot does karma do to them? The ladies dat aborted dia babies severally and still got pregnant several times afta and gave birth to lovely kids for their ignorant husband, wot did karma do to them?

Der is nothing like karma in dis regard my dear, cos its not within her jurisdictionwink

Honestly? Not everyone dates with the sole purpose of marriage...Some people tend to see beyond that.

Dating is as much about learning what you need and want, and how you need to grow and change, as it is about finding the "right" person...

So, I honestly do not see the Rush...I could actually date someone i have No intention of marrying..it's all about exploring!smiley

I've been cracking ma head on where or how to find a particular type of lady. So I decided to rub minds with honourable members of the house.

Am used to meeting ladies that are either hot but kinda dumb or dull, or smart/intelligent but unattractive/nerdish.

My definition of hot is a nice face, good shape and perfect BOOBS. Emphasis on the boobs, eg Cynthia Morgan, Waje, kind of boobs.

My definition of smart or intelligent is a fast thinker, an independent mind, street-smart, intellectual, entreprenueral, artistic eg Ngozi Okonjo Iweala, Linda Ikeji, Nse Ikpe Etim, etc.

For most hot chics, u cant have a meaningful, reasonable or interesting conversation with, so u just bang dem and leave. Smart chics can engage u mentally for over an hour but it'd feel like u just spent 10 mins with them. Am yet to meet a nerd dat had nice boobs. Dont know why.

So how or where can a man meet a beautiful lady with a beautiful mind/brains, dat is hot and has a nice pair of boobs?

Any ideas guys?

roigr2012:
Thanks OP for voicing out. Let me say this you are one of the people on this forum who is a source of hope that there is still a chance for a better Nigeria. Thanks
to your contribution
I don't think contributions can afford another social program in the form of a National marriage commission and I think like someone has mentioned, if there is an emphasis shift from state of origin to state of residence, I think tribalism will be greatly reduced. However that too is fraught with some challenges such as what happens to states that experience massive emigration due to harsh weather, will they lose their citizens due to a situation outside their control? I also agree that until this administration promotes TRUE federalism, wherein states own the funds they generate from their natural resources, this country will be unable to solve its main challenge of gross underdevelopment.
Lastly, I am a believer that there is hope for this country yet. Nigeria will be great and it will be in out generation. Merry Christmas!
Thanks a lot for ur contribution. That is why I suggested that this administration implements the 2014 confab report cos the call for true federalism was included in that report.

The national marriage commission is a lousy idea dat can bring any some positive results. It's just a suggestion sha.

Thanx again.
PoliticsOpen Letter To Prof. Yemi Osinbanjo On The Nigerian Economy And Other Issues by davidmark4naija(op):
25th December 2015.
Your Excellency,
Prof. Yemi Osinbanjo,
The Vice President,
Federal Republic of Nigeria.

Dear Sir,

A REQUEST FROM A CONCERNED NIGERIAN YOUTH ON THE ECONOMY AND OTHER ISSUES.

Firstly, I want to wish you, your family, colleagues, the FG, and all Nigerians a very Merry Christmas and a much better 2016. I also want to specifically pray that the Lord will grant you and the FG more wisdom and grace to be able to move Nigeria forward.

I am sorry for sending this letter to the media, thereby making it open for all to see. But I believe this will make it get to you faster than sending a hard copy to your office which will subjected to a lot of office bureaucracies. I also chose to write to you because I believe you do have a listening ear. Sir, I am writing to complain and also suggest solutions to the things I will be complaining about. It is my utmost prayer to take my suggestions into consideration.

Sir, you need not be told that the easiest way to for this administration to fail is to look for who to blame for Nigeria’s challenges. Can you imagine a 45 year old man complaining and lamenting that he is a failure because he is an orphan? It is quite laughable, isn’t it? Nigerians want to see progress in 2016 and not hear complains and excuses. I chose not to complain this year because 2015 is more of a continuation of the previous administration. But 2016 is fully APC’s year of manifestation. If there is fuel scarcity in 2016, it will be APC’s fault and not the PDP’s. If there is no light or unrest in 2016, it will be APC’s fault and not the PDP’s. The year 2016 is APC’s year to prove themselves and not a year to complain. And I sir, am one of those that wish this administration success, because if you succeed, Nigeria succeeds. But if things are not better by this time in 2016, I would give up hope in this administration.

Sir, the FG recently asked all agencies capturing biometrics of Nigerian citizens to work with the National Identity Management Commission to give every Nigerian an Identity Number. That is a good move, and I want to add that this should be taken a step further in the expected 2016 National Census. I advise that the National Population Commission works with the National Identity Commission to give every Nigerian an ID number in 2016. The NPC should also work with hospitals, health centers, and midwives to ensure that all new born babies also get ID numbers. We need to have a working population database of Nigerians. I believe we all know the economic importance of an up-to-date database of Nigerians, we will be able to plan properly and also fight crime more effectively.

Sir, this is my greatest concern. The Nigerian economy is a wicked one. A very wicked one. There is no light, no good roads, no jobs, no housing program, and a very high interest rate. How will the youths survive? What is hope for the average Nigerian youth? Sir, the FG alone cannot single-handedly create jobs for all the unemployed youths in Nigeria. And thus the FG will be doing Nigerians a great favour if the FG can reduce interest rates in Nigeria. It would be nice if interest rates can be further reduced to 2% from commercial banks and with no collateral. At least this policy can cover youths between the ages of 22 to 42. SME’s are the backbone of any economy. And if this can be implemented, I guarantee you that unemployment will be greatly reduced in Nigeria.

The monetary policy of this administration is not encouraging. I know the FG has good intentions but your methods may just not be effective. Mrs. Oby Ezekwisili raised some salient points concerning the monetary policy and I think it ought to be studied. That policy does need some reviewing. The CBN governor is not all-knowing, and you know it’s a lot easier to solve a problem when you’re outside the problem than when you are in it. This administration will surely do well if it takes constructive criticisms seriously. There are lots of nice ideas all over the social media but implementation remains our greatest problem as a nation.

The Nnamdi Kanu’s case has made me realize that is high time we had a hate crime bill in Nigeria. It is high time we joined civilized countries like Britain, Brazil, Germany, Denmark, France, Chile, etc, who have laws against hate speech. Though their laws centers on racism, ours should center on tribalism/tribal bigotry, religious intolerance and political affiliation. As a legal practitioner, you will agree with me that free speech and hate speech are not the same. If hate speech and free speech were same, then the UK wouldn’t have To take any action against Donald Trump . Sir, you can ask one of your friends in the Senate to sponsor a hate crime bill as this will go a long way to curb future violence and unrest in Nigeria. I wrote an open letter to Nigerian lawmakers on this very issue. You can look it up here sir, for more information: http://www.tori.ng/news/11753/opinion-open-letter-to-all-nigerian-lawmakers-on-h.html , or https://www.nairaland.com/2619823/open-letter-all-nigerian-lawmakers . I am not a Kanu fan at all oh, but I think this treason charge does not have enough evidence other than intents. His major offences are hate speech and inciting statements. I think he should be sent to the UK to be dealt with according to their hate speech laws except the UK government is one of his supporters. No matter how the FG handles this case, 99.9% of us down south that hate President Buhari so much will see it as hatful judgement meted on their son. But if the UK handles it, we will be less bias about the judgement (Just my opinion though). That notwithstanding, we need to have a hate crime law in this country so that one ‘nama’ won’t just wake up and start inciting and provoking people on radio or social media, same goes for politicians during elections.

This administration is actually the most challenged. A friend of mine once said that President Buhari is a victim of circumstances. The economic challenges are so enormous and sometimes I feel sorry for our President. However, I do believe that with determination, flexibility, adaptability, and an open mind, nothing can be impossible. Sir, I do believe about 50% of the solutions to the problems in Nigeria, are written, hidden and domiciled in 2014 National Conference Report. That conference was not a waste. If the FG will study that report and begin implementing it in 2016, Nigeria will start moving forward.

There are many factors trying to tear Nigeria apart but I do have an idea that can help us be more united. I am not an expert on keeping heterogeneous people united but I do have a lousy idea that could also be helpful to the unity of Nigeria. I think we should have a National Marriage Commission in Nigeria. By ‘National Marriage’, I mean inter-tribal marriages. Any marriage between two different tribes in Nigeria should be made a national marriage and should be sponsored by the FG through the National Marriage Commission. The National Assembly can pass this bill and also encourage traditional rulers and families to reduce the bride price and marriage rites for suitors from other tribes. The commission will take care of some of the costs of the wedding like wedding rites, legal costs, and medical bills for the pregnant bride before and after conception, etc. I can send more details on how this commission will operate if one of your aides can do me a mail. The NSYC program was originally designed to unite Nigeria, rather its’ just a one year tourism exercise that allows people from the south to get to spend 12 months of their life in the north and vice versa. The NYSC program is more of a tourism program than a unifying factor. Nothing unites families like marriage. Nigeria is made up of millions of families and the more united these families are, the more united Nigeria will be. The only problem with this idea is that it will mean more expenses on the part of the Federal Government. Nevertheless, I believe this extra cost to keep Nigerians united is considerably cheap compared to the cost of a divided Nigeria.

Sir, in the book of proverbs, Solomon spoke about a wise man whose wisdom was ignored and scorned because he was a poor man. Sir, I am just one of those average Nigerian youths that wish Nigeria well. While I was typing this, my elder sister was mocking me because to her I am just wasting my time, same way I get mocked every day for supporting the APC government. Please sir, ‘Mbok don’t fall my hand’.
Once again, I wish you Sir, the FG and the entire Nigeria a prosperous 2016.

My name is David Mark(not the Senator), and I just want to make common sense.

Regards,
David Mark

PoliticsHow Every Nigerian Can Get An Identity Number In 2016. by davidmark4naija(op): 3:22pm On Oct 09, 2015
I think it's really simple to achieve this. All we need to do is to get the NPC, National Population Commission to work with the NIMC, National Identity Management Commission during the 2016 census. Since both exercises will use bio-metrics, why don't just partner to achieve this?

This will go a long way to help the security of this country.

PoliticsOpen Letter To All Nigerian Lawmakers On Hate Speech, Hate Crime. by davidmark4naija(op):
OPEN LETTER TO ALL NIGERIAN LAWMAKERS ON HATE SPEECH, HATE CRIME, AND THE VALUE FOR HUMAN LIFE. BY DAVID MARK.
I write to you our Honorable Lawmakers of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. I write to you to eradicate certain viruses that threaten the peace of our beloved “One Nigeria”. I choose not to join those that love to just sit down and criticize the government without suggesting any solution in any way. I want to be a part of the solutions to the problems we have in this country. This is the purpose for this open letter.
The just concluded 2015 election exercise was one full of tension. The polity was so heated up and as a lot of people fled the country in anticipation of a post-election war. Why? The polity was being heated up because different versions of “hate speeches” were flying all over the place by various politicians, religious and traditional leaders.

We heard a former presidential candidate threaten that “dogs and baboons will be soaked in blood.” An Oba threatened the Igbos in Lagos with the lagoon. A former first lady was insulting Northerners, calling them “born throw way”. Some religious leaders told their followers not to vote for Jonathan because he is an infidel. After the elections, a certain man told the Igbos not to expect anything from President Buhari and that they are free to leave Nigeria if they want to. And another man is on radio insulting the Yoruba’s and Hausas/Fulani’s. These are people that have all their family members chilling in Europe, and America while they provoke people and incite violence in Nigeria. And in the event of any break out of violence, they will be among the first to jet out of the country. People who make such derogatory, inciting, provocative and hate- filled statements are enemies of the peace of Nigeria and henceforth should not go unpunished because they love to capitalize on the gullibility and stupidity of their followers to cause mayhem in Nigeria.

What caused the Nigerian Civil war 45 years ago? Everybody has their side of the story but on taking a closer look, what led to the war were hate speech/messages and hate crimes. The civil war, ethnic/tribal wars, religious killings, pre/post-election violence were all fueled by hate speech and hate crimes. The Boko Haram we are all battling with today was built on the foundation of hate speech and hate crime before it was hijacked by some ghost sponsors.

The Nigerian government has always been a reactive government. We have never had a proactive government. We were warned to diversify our economy. We were warned that the shale oil production in America plus world oil politics would affect our crude oil dependent economy. Cameroon gave us an early warning about releasing the water from their dams. But what did the usual reactive Nigerian government do about all these? Nothing! We have developed a dangerous habit of waiting till things gets really messed up before we take action. This yeye attitude of governance by both the executive and legislative arms of government will not lead this nation forward. It is high time we developed a proactive system of governance.

One that solves problems before they occur, and prevents impending crises from shaking the nation unnecessarily. And if we must stop future violence and unnecessary killings in Nigeria, we must legislate against hate speech, hate crimes and tribal bigotry. . Hate speeches usually lead to hate crimes, and we cannot afford more episodes of violence or useless killings in this country. I therefore ask our lawmakers to pass a law that criminalizes and punishes hate speech, hate crime and tribal bigotry in Nigeria. This law will greatly minimize future election violence, religious and tribal killings, and totally bring more peace in Nigeria than we are having now.

Hate speech is a speech that attacks, threatens or insults a person or people because of their tribe, religion or political views, etc. Hate crime is a traditional crime like murder, arson, vandalism, etc, meted at an individual or group motivated by prejudice, intolerance or hatred for an individual’s tribe, religion or political view. Killing people in the name of religion or because of their tribe is an example of hate crime.

Therefore, I propose that henceforth, any politician, public office holder, religious leader, traditional leader, social icon, celebrity or public figure that publicly mutters any form of hate speech or encourages hate crimes against any tribe/ethnic group, religious group, political party, political opponent, whether during election campaigns, or through the internet or social media, TV or radio, should therefore be sentenced to life imprisonment or death by hanging, and without the option of an appeal. For the common man on the street, if found guilty with enough evidence, he should be sentenced to 50 years imprisonment. People should not be insulted, oppressed or killed because they belong to a certain tribe, have a certain political view or have a preferred choice of religion.

Freedom must be limited if not there will be anarchy in the land. If people are free to do what ever they like then armed robbery and kidnapping shouldn’t be crimes in Nigeria. The fact that armed robbery is a crime in a democratic setting means that people are not “free” to do whatever they like. Thus, freedom of speech and expression cannot include hate speech and hate crimes. Hate speech and tribal bigotry offenders are enemies of Nigeria and should be given the capital punishment because their sole aim is to disrupt the peace of this country.
If our Nigerian lawmakers ignore this call, Nigerians will know that our elected lawmakers are not interested in the peace and progress of this country. We will be fully convinced that the “One Nigeria” concept is a scam.

It is a common thing that human lives are not valued in this country. That is why people are killed anyhow all over Nigeria and nothing is being done about it. And nothing is being done about it because we do not have laws that protect the lives of the average Nigerian on the street. Boko Haram we are struggling with today was a baby monster built on the foundation hate speech and hate. Today it has grown into full time terrorism.

I served in Bauchi State long before boko haram came to the lime light, and there I saw with my very own eyes that Nigerians can be slaughtered simply because of a page of the Koran that was found on the street. There were several religious killings during my service year and I thank God that I came out from there alive.

The Federal parastatal were I was posted to offered to retain me but I refused the offer because I couldn’t risk being slaughtered one day because of a page of the Koran being found on the floor, and I vowed never to go to the North for anything for the rest of my life. Why on earth should I work and live in such a place? I would rather be unemployed and alive than live in a place where Nigerians can be killed because of a cartoon on Mohammed that was made in a far country? A lot of my friends and colleagues lost their lives while serving their fatherland. I saw churches being burnt with reckless abandon. I saw lives being wasted for nothing. How many mosques are being burnt down in the south? And I also observed that the killings were not just religiously inclined, it also had serious tribal undertone because if it was just religion, then the Yoruba Muslims would have been spared. But the Yoruba Muslims had to also join us to run for their lives. Such hate crimes cannot continue to go unpunished in this country. It is high time our lawmakers passed a law that forbids and punishes all forms of religious, ethnic and tribal killings as hate crimes. Boko Haram is supposed to have taught us a lesson as a nation. And any right thinking government will thus make laws that will permanently prevent any issue that is a threat to human life in any capacity. Human lives must be valued in this country.

It looks to me that boko boys are going to be handing over the terror mantle to their Under-17 squad pretty soon. They are popular referred to as the “Fulani herdsmen”. These guys are going about killing and kidnaping people in the name of cattle rearing. And if we do not do something about these rascals who have no value for human life early enough, we will be moving from one regime of terrorism to another. Besides, nothing stops the ghost sponsors of boko haram from recruiting this bastards and giving us Boko Haram Reloaded to deal with, and maybe change their name from the popular Fulani herdsmen to “Fulani Gladiators”. By then we will start running to the US, France and all our allies in the West to help us fight “Fulani Gladiators”. We will ask the World Bank to lend us $1 billion to fight “Fulani Gladiators”. And maybe the PDP who is desperate to come back to power will use “Fulani Gladiators” as their major campaign strategy just as the APC did with Boko Haram.
Nigerians are being killed continuously in Plateau State, and this has been going on for the past 14 years and no one is doing anything about it. Maybe the Nigerian government is waiting for a new edition of Plateau-Haram before they act. We are not animals, and Nigeria is not an animal kingdom. Therefore, this attitude of waiting for things to go sour and get really messy before we jump into action and start dealing with the effects without even handling the root cause has to stop. It is high time we placed maximum value on human life. The lives of Nigerians must become important to the Nigerian Government.

Someone has to be held accountable for lives being lost in any part of Nigeria. When no one is held accountable by the law for religious, ethnic and tribal killings, people will go ahead and create such menace because nobody will take the responsibility of protecting the lives of Nigerians. It is high time the National Assembly makes laws that holds and punishes traditional leaders, and religious leaders for any ethnic/tribal or religious killing carried out under their watch. I believe that if the Imams, the Sultans, Emirs and Fulani leaders risk being jailed for life, they will be able to discipline their followers to respect other people’s tribe, religion and to value human life.

I do not mean to offend anyone, but I have seen people come out from the mosques to perpetrate violence and kill people in the name of Allah, and there is no way you will tell me that the Imam doesn’t know such people. If he is held accountable, and proven to be innocent and have nothing to do with such crimes, then he should be able to produce such people to face the music. The lives of Nigerians are more valuable than any religious, tribal or political sentiments.
Someone would say why not call the police? Well, we all know that the Nigerian police is the comedy department of the Armed Forces. And usually before the police even shows up the scene lives must have been wasted for nothing. The police and army cannot prevent religious and tribal killings but religious and traditional/tribal leaders can. We have to stop dealing with the effects. We have to start dealing with the root causes of stupid killings in this country. We have to pass laws that prevent such killings, and it will be a lot easier of people are held accountable by law. The army and police cannot prevent crises but laws can. Lives will keep being wasted until someone is held accountable. We have to set up mechanism to re-orient people on the value of human life. Boko haram experience is enough to teach us a lesson in this nation, except we don’t want to ever learn.

The Nigerian constitution is bigger than any religious belief, ethnic group or tribe. Nobody should be killed in any part of Nigeria because of his religion, tribe or ethnic group. I should be able to go to the North, live there and do business without being constantly afraid that one day I might just be butchered like a cow. I should be respected as a Nigerian irrespective of my tribe. Nigeria is a country with various tribes and ethnic groups and each tribe and ethnic group must be respected by others according to the law. I should not be insulted or oppressed because of my tribe. And the issue of “minority” tribe or ethnic group has to be abolished in this country because we are all important. No tribe is superior to the other and we must make laws that uphold this.

I noticed that an American citizen is always proud enough to tell anyone anywhere in the world that he’s a citizen of the United States of America, not just because America is the most powerful nation in the world, but because America as a nation values the life of its citizens, and he has hope and belief in his country that whatever happens to him America will protect him. I wish we could say the same of the Nigerian government. I am looking forward to a Nigerian Government that has maximum value for human lives.

We have always relied solely on the executive arm of government for protection but it has failed us woefully in the past. This is not an APC or PDP issue. This is not a matter of Christians vs. Muslims. We voted for CHANGE. Not for a political party. We needed change in the system. We needed change in the country. This is a matter of National Security and I therefore call on all Nigerian Lawmakers to prove to Nigerians now and again that the term “One Nigeria” is not a scam and that the life of every Nigerian is valued by the Nigerian Government.

Yours Truly,
David Mark
(A Patriotic Young Nigerian)
