Celebrities / Comedian Seyilaw Shared An Article About Marriage Via His Instagram Page by Davidotokinews(m): 6:37pm On Nov 05, 2017
Read article below.

Marriage is an institution and not an entity. Institutions are not wrong, but the people who make up the institutions are the ones whose wrongs and rights define the institutions.
The fact that you have spent 9 years in a university doesn't mean you are a forbearer of the knowledge to attaining a First Class like a jambite who came prepared to achieve the feat. A man who is 50 years in marriage might not be in the best position to dish marriage advices than a man who is just 2 years. The 50 years married man might only have enjoyed a longevity that is sustained by a woman who is highly tolerant and endured much because she has huge limit of long suffering whilst the 2 years married man might just the man who knows how to tickle his wife to submission, accept her wrong and bear her pain.
Marriage is not a MUST, but choice. It is the bad choices some people make that they try to define marriage by. It is not everybody who can shoot that can be in the MILITARY, neither is the CHOIR for all who can. You can wax a GLOBAL AWARD WINNING ALBUM without passing through the choir, the same you can have lovely KIDS without being married. When you come into marriage and fail, deal with your wrongs and stop blaming MARRIAGE.

Celebrities / Oritsefemi Revealed How He Convinced His Wife To Marry Him. by Davidotokinews(m): 6:17pm On Nov 05, 2017
Read excerpts from his interview with Sunday Scoop.
How did you meet your wife?
I met her at a show in Nigeria. I had just returned from a tour in 2016 when I was hired by MultiChoice to perform at an event. When I was backstage with Daddy Showkey and other colleagues, she was the one attending to the needs of everyone. Despite her beauty, I also liked the way she related with the artistes at that event. I was far from her, so she didn’t notice I was observing her.
After my performance, they invited us upstairs for a certain Nabila Fash’s birthday. I didn’t really show interest because I was tired and I didn’t know she was the one. When I saw her pictures the following day, I wished I had attended the party. The event lasted for five days; we moved from one place the other. I knew she was a nice lady and I felt terrible that I didn’t honour her birthday invitation.
We later met backstage at the next day’s event. The first event was held in Port Harcourt while the other was in Enugu. I introduced myself to her and she did the same. From the outset, she knew I wanted something from her. She told me she was not my kind of person, but I should let her know what I wanted.
When I told her I wanted to marry her, she thought I was joking. She said she knew Oritsefemi’s music but didn’t know the person behind the music. She said she needed to know me more before she could say a word.

Foreign Affairs / George W Bush Has Lambasted Donald Trump by Davidotokinews(m): 10:42am On Nov 05, 2017
In the new book entitle, “The Last Republication”, written by historian, Mark Updegrove, the senior Bush said, “I don’t like him. I don’t know much about him, but I know he’s a blowhard. And I’m not too excited about him being a leader.”

The younger Bush had earlier described Donald Trump’s inauguration speech in March as “some weird s**t.”
Last month he said of Trump’s government, “Bigotry seems emboldened. Our politics seems more vulnerable to conspiracy theories and outright fabrication.
“[The founders of the Munich conference] would be alarmed by an increasing turn away from universal values and toward old ties of blood and race and sectarianism.”
It is also on record that both Republican presidents did not vote for Trump in the election.
George HW Bush said he voted for Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton, while his son told Mr Updegrove he did not vote for anyone.

Politics / No Threat Can Stop Us From Sacking 22,000 Teachers – Governor El-rufai Says by Davidotokinews(m): 10:29am On Nov 05, 2017
The governor of Kaduna state, Mallam Nasir El Rufai, has vowed that no amount of threat from labour union would make his government back down from sacking the 22,000 teachers who failed competence tests and replace them with 25,000 new qualified ones.
In a live interview with radio stations in Kaduna, Governor El Rufai said every body that has the interest of the education of the citizens of the state in mind should be embarrassed by the failure of teachers who could not answer questions meant for primary four pupils.
The Nigerian Union of Teachers, NUT Kaduna chapter recently threatened that its members would embark on strike if the state government goes ahead to sack the 22,000 teachers.
But reacting to the threat in a network radio interview in Kaduna, governor El Rufai said rather than threaten to go on strike, the NUT should be embarrassed by the incompetence of its members adding that “there is no bigger evidence of the crisis in our society than that a union whose members failed a Primary 4 examination thinks it can create problems over the issue rather than be a part of the solution.
“Everybody knows that we will not be deterred in doing what is right for the future of our children. The NUT thinks this is about politics, making a public show of opposing what they know to be right. Shouldn’t everybody be embarrassed by the test results? Where is the sense of shame? I hear some people say the pass mark for a Primary Four exam should be 60%; the same people say the state government has no right to test the competence of its employees. There is no bigger evidence of the crisis in our society than that a union whose members failed a Primary 4 examination thinks it can create problems over the issue rather than be a part of the solution.
“We are not people that bow to threats. We will respond appropriately. What will be point of that strike? To force us to violate our oath of office and knowingly retain as teachers those that are not qualified? That will not happen” he vowed.
Going into the details of how the state degenerated to the level, El Rufai said the recruitment of teachers was politicized, allowing politicians and local government chairmen to turn the primary school sector to a “dumping ground for their thugs”.
“Unqualified teachers entered the system because the recruitment of teachers was politicised. The local government council chairmen and other senior politicians and bureaucrats saw teaching as a dumping ground for their thugs, supporters and other unqualified persons
“Teachers were employed at local government level without adherence to standards. In many instances, no examinations or interviews were conducted to assess the quality of recruits. Political patronage, nepotism and corruption became the yardstick, thus giving unqualified persons a way in. Teaching jobs were given as patronage to those connected to politicians and bureaucrats.

Sports / Chelsea Vs Manchester United: Conte Speaks Of Big Problem At Stamford Bridge by Davidotokinews(m): 7:48am On Nov 05, 2017
Chelsea coach, Antonio Conte has admitted that there is a big problem at the club, adding that the issues are not simple to solve.
Conte also stated on Friday, that it is unlikely anyone will be able to catch Manchester City in the Premier League title race this season.
Chelsea have struggled in recent games with the latest being a 3-0 loss to AS Roma in the Champions League.
The Blues will host Jose Mourinho’s Manchester United on Sunday and the Italian admits that his side is facing difficult period.
He told a press conference, “This season we are struggling a lot because we are facing a lot of important problems.
“To solve these problems is not simple. In this moment, you can see if you are winners or losers.
“This is a very important moment. When the period is positive, it’s very simple for everyone to play well, to have great confidence.
“In this moment, when you’re struggling, it’s important to show our character. To be strong. To face the problems in the right way.
“I am used, in my life, to doing this. I struggled a lot in my life, as a player and then as a coach also. My history, my story, tells you this.
“I think that, now, there is a big problem for all the teams that want to fight for the title, and this big problem is Manchester City.
“Because, if Manchester City continue in this way, I think this is the big problem for all the teams who are thinking about fighting for the title.

Celebrities / Get A Good Job Before You End Up In Detention – Falz Blast ‘yahoo Boys’ by Davidotokinews(m): 10:08am On Nov 03, 2017
Lawyer turned rapper, Folarin Falana popularly referred to as ‘Falz’ has again balsted internet fraudsters (yahoo boys) in his latest album titled ’27 ’.
Recall that Falz called out ‘Yahoo boys’ and musicians who support them, after singer 9ice sang their praises in one of his songs. He said,
“You are a role model to the younger ones and you are hailing fraudsters, you are making the younger ones feel it is good to do it. Stop it! It is destroying our future.”
This sparked a lot of reactions with the so-called ‘Yahoo boys’ threatening never to go for Falz’s show. However, the undaunted rappper reiterated his point in one of his tracks in his new album.
In one of the song on the Album, he said
“Internet gangster, this the first chapter/ This brother just hammer, he collect from one maga/ Him steal person money, na hin he wan dey form swagga/ Everyday for the thief, one day for karma/ So you happy when you log into your online haven, and when you getting richer off another mans savings/ Stop explaining, that be lazy, No excuse you fit give them, No be only una wey be victim of the system/ No, you no be hustler, that one no be work sir.

Politics / What Guardian Tortoise Says About Pmb(buhari) by Davidotokinews(m): 8:36am On Nov 03, 2017
On that Sunday, nearly one year after President Muhammadu Buhari was elected and months, I think, after he announced his ministers, the President had a copy of that publication on his side table as he spoke with a guest.
Over small talk, he picked up the newspaper, flipped to the cartoon page and spread it before the guest.
“Whom do you think that is,” he asked, half-smiling. His guest looked at the cartoon, and as he was raising his head locked eyes with the president. Both of them erupted in laughter.
The tortoise in the cartoon was a caricature of a president who had taken six months to appoint his cabinet and would take even much longer to fill other vital positions in government. Up till this week, he regretted that many vacancies still exist.
No Laughing Matter
Except in relation to the war against Boko Haram, which appears to have been an aberration in response time, the tortoise may well be the president’s favourite mascot for performance. But it’s no longer a laughing matter.
The removal of former Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Babachir Lawal and the NIA DG, Ayo Oke, finally happened five months after the report was ready and over two months after it was submitted to the president.
Did it have to take that long? Yes, the president travelled on a medical vacation shortly before the report was due to be submitted. But for a matter that has been lingering since April – and one that touches on corruption, a major pillar of the government’s agenda – it shouldn’t take nine weeks after his return to nail the coffin.
Yet, this coffin is not even closed. Prosecution for criminal breach of trust should immediately follow their indictment and removal from office. But if it took six months to indict and formally remove Lawal and Oke from office, that may well be the end of the matter, until either or both of them pop up again in another government office and claim arrears for their layoff.
Worse Than Incest
In a deal worse than incest, Lawal used a company in which he has interest to cut grass with N220 million from funds meant for displaced survivors of Boko Haram. It should have made the president mad that such nonsense happened at a time when he was desperately looking for help from the World Bank to rebuild the devastated North East region.
Or that instead of providing intelligence that might have saved lives at the war front, Oke, the nation’s top spy, was busy stashing away money in a private apartment in Lagos, using his wife as full-time dollar nanny.
Why should the World Bank – or any other serious-minded group – act with urgency or care when the government gives the impression that fantastically corrupt officials in government are welcome to stay until public outrage boils over?
Again, we’re seeing the same dangerous delay playing out in the case of the disgraced former Chairman of the Presidential Pension Reform Task Force, Abdulrasheed Maina. With questions over what President Muhammadu Buhari knew or did not know swirling, the government ought to follow up on Maina’s speedy removal – an exceptional moment – by charging him to court.
But from what the Chairman of the EFCC, Ibrahim Magu, is saying, it appears that the same forces inside the government that prolonged action on the Lawal-Oke case are working hard to let Maina enjoy the billions of naira he pocketed from the sweat of miserable pensioners.
‘Atanni Je’
Sadly, the Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami, who should be helping to put away high-profile crooks appears either confused or overwhelmed by his job. It was heartbreaking to hear him enthusiastically justifying his role in Maina’s triumphant return to work, while millions of the victims of the pension scam are suffering.
It’s not Malami’s fault. Neither are the hordes of crooks that still appear to be beyond the reach of the law to blame for the delay in bringing them to justice. The energy of Buhari’s government has been drained, almost from the start, by nasty internal brush fires and turf wars. The situation is compounded at the worst of times by his poor health and at the best of times by his choices and temperament.
Slow And Tardy Wins
It’s the turf war that has left Magu as the public officer on the longest probation doing perhaps the most dangerous job and yet serving without a letter of appointment for two years, while Maina, a fugitive, has a job reserved for him.
It’s the turf war that encourages the Group Managing Director of NNPC, Maikanti Baru, to add insult to the injury of the Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, Ibe Kachikwu, and at the height of public disgust over the way the corporation is being run, the GMD still offers politicians free lunch.
It’s the turf war that has paralyzed Buhari’s government, often leaving behind a trail of tardiness.
But even outside the turf war, it sometimes gets tardier with the choice of a few of the President’s key staff. His Chief of Staff, Abba Kyari, for example, may be doing a great job for him in some other unknowable departments. But the last thing that an aging Buhari needs on top of his poor health and natural insularity, is a key staff who allows the molehills of official work to become mountains of obstruction before anything gets done.
As the nation watched the pathetic scenes of Kyari and the Head of Service, Winifred Oyo-Ita, bickering over Maina in the Villa this week, and plumber after executive plumber raced in to mend the leaking roof in the presence of a perplexed Vice President, the rule appears to be: slow and tardy wins the race.
It was interesting to hear the D-G of Customs and long-time Buhari ally, Hameed Ali, pile on the Peoples Democratic Party for the woes of the ruling All Progressives Congress. I think he should have spoken up when former Governor Rotimi Amaechi and others who crossed over from the PDP with fat checkbooks in hand were joining the APC

Music/Radio / P-square Will Come Back Only If The Respect Is Back — Peter Okoye Speaks by Davidotokinews(m): 6:47pm On Nov 02, 2017
Peter Okoye aka Mr P has revealed the only reason that will bring erstwhile music group P-Square together.

The now solo artiste who recently released a brand new single, entitled ‘Cool it Down’ in an interview with Vibe Magazine said that the only incentive for the reconciliation of P-Square is respect.
When asked if there is a possibility of the duo coming back together, Mr P said “Of course, when the respect is back. When you stay apart for a while, the respect will come. We’ve lost it.
People will never understand but we’ve lost that respect. Like I said in the open letter, we will work in future but when we come back, it will be from respect. There was no respect that’s why there has been a back and forth.”

Programming / Why Vpns Is Illegal In China by Davidotokinews(m): 12:05am On Nov 02, 2017
Recently, VPNs were banned in China and are now considered a crime by the China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT). This comes as a hindrance to residents of China that have been using VPNs as a method to access various blocked websites like Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube.
Understanding the background
Since VPNs are a subject to interference in the country’s internet connection, VPN providers need to be authorized. The MIIT has announced new rules for China’s VPN and cable regulations which will be implemented on 1 February 2018.
Rather than focusing on authorities working for multinational companies, Chinese administrators are focusing on companies providing VPN services to citizens of China. Another recent restriction of such VPN users in China happened in March 2016.
Many publications in China, like the South China Morning Post, and beyond, like the Washington Post, have implied that numerous legal VPNs providers are present in China.
These providers are associated with state-owned enterprises that mostly allow banks and law firms – which pay substantial fees – to legally bypass the Great Firewall, also known as the nation’s largest sophisticated censorship system .
The government has ordered three of the country’s state-run phone carriers, which are China Mobile (860 million), China Unicom (268 million) and China Telecom (227 million), to implement a ban on companies operating on the mainland without a leased web-access line.
Regulations and the challenges
Although China controls most parts of the internet available to their citizens, use of a VPN disrupts its mission to accomplish “cyber sovereignty” inside its borders. The reason behind the government of China blocking networking sites has to do with the highest level of political struggles and various parties using the internet as a battlefield.
If China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology successfully launches an internet crackdown to close all loopholes, the visitors won’t be able to access common websites blocked by the government.
Along with social networks like Facebook and Twitter, international news sites like The New York Times and Wall Street Journal will also be blocked by the firewall of China.
VPNs are necessary to do business in China but its ban will likely affect company and employees performance. Examples of individuals that are severely impacted by the ongoing VPN crackdown include an environmental researcher using Google Docs for collaborating and a Shanghai based curator working with artists overseas .
What this means in the global context
In China’s globalized economy, VPNs play a major role and are among critical tools for secured communications and global connectivity. It’s also used by foreign businesses of China to secure company data and/or to communicate with company headquarters overseas.
Since the Chinese Government ensures both Apple and Android app stores remove VPN apps, its absence can not only disturb the economy of the nation . Beyond this, it also affects the number of remaining users and could also harm academics, software developers, and foreign businesses.
Due to the Great Firewall, Chinese IP addresses have difficulty in accessing foreign journals, and methods of communication with foreign universities are less adequate. All of which get in the way of China’s global communications.
Different types of international websites are blocked by the government of China. It includes social networking websites, apps, search engines, Media portals, work tools, and porn sites. Since almost all significant sites are blocked in China, VPNs play a vital role in Chinese IP addresses accessing globally popular websites such as Google+, Wikipedia, and many more effectively.
Moving forward
Switching to a new VPN provider that is not blocked or switching to a different IP address that isn’t blocked can also help to avoid VPN ban. Similarly, running a VPN server by an individual can provide a unique VPN IP address that isn’t blocked by the government. VPN service providers allow people to change their port numbers. They are mainly of two types, TCP port 80 and TCP port 443. By using TOR, which is short for The Onion Router, you can surf the internet anonymously.
