I am a testmony that milling ur own feed is the best. If u ave above 2k birds. It best u mill from day one. Dat one i mean, is u mill when they r doc. Thereby u can reduce ur spending n maximize ur profit. It saves u time n energy. One u dont ave to worry abt lack of feed or feed increase. 2, when ur birds r in laying stages, if u compound ur feed well, ur eggs comes out very brown n yolk is yellow. That attracts buys to come to u. Soo anyone on this forum that ave over 2k birds. Pls may God enrich ur pocket, i will strongly an 150% advice u to mill ur feed it d best. 1 Like |

@segun1976. I could nt keep it too myself again. Pls n pls be careful milling ur feed outside. I had an experience wit my past birds milling from a feed mill. I was reaped off soo bad. To an extent that d feed was compounded badly, d maize was white instead of yellow maize. I will advise u to invest in ur own machine. It does nt cost u.more than 250k or less to get a good machine wit lester generator in ibadan. I gurantee u that if u sort for ur own material n mill on ur own farm u will see a difference. Forget watever the feed miller will tell u. If u r nt there while it been mill, u will be shortage. Also if the feed mill does nt practise safe n hygiene ways while ur feed is been done. Ur birds might get infected. Just saying# u cant spend.more than 600k including machine n oda items needed to compound ur own feed. Justsaying bro. 1 Like |

Gm@eggcalent n grownaira. Thanks for the previous advise. Pm was done b lab test was done. Was informed to stop using drugs n give dem more water. Noticed that this days water gets really hot before certain time of the day. Still coming up wit various means of making d water temp to be cooler. We tot of buying iced blocks. But d fear is, some ice block makers dont use clean water. Soo we ave decided to store some water under d plaintain tree as a shed. N anonda 300liters of water in d pen. Thanks for the advise. 1 Like |

Pls help: Good day i have been reading the nairaland blog for a long time, n just decided to seek an outside opinion. I have a farm in ibadan wit a capacity of 4k birds. They r from agrited. As promised, n by the chart given to me by there sales team. The birds where suppose to start laying @19weeks. All vaccination instructipns was carried out n followed wit no issues. They started laying @ 22weeks. They will be 23weeks now. However we have started to notice that mortality is now 1 to 2 per day. Pm was done. Crd was confirmed by d vet. We have used all types of meds name it. It still nt resolving. What can one do to treat crd effectively. Thanks will be waiting for a response |
