Nigeria of today is polarized and the polarization cuts across Religious and ethnic divide.

This polarity is further pronounced in the actions incumbent, whose appointment appears to favour northerners and Muslims, being that they occupy key strategic positions in his government.

Similarly, if the name is not polarised along religious divide, you'll not be seeing Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) or Muric saying things whenever they feel their group is being cheated.

Now to the issue of APC and the Vice presidential candidate.

1. Some Nigerians are pushing the narrative that there's nothing wrong in APC having Muslim Muslim ticket on the basis that in 1993, it was tried by a Yoruba Muslim and Hausa Muslim.

It was easy to achieve then because
A) The country was not this divided, as we lived together harmoniously. No one asked you where you're from or your religion before gaining admission to school. Some of my friends in the 90s are not from my tribe and we lived together in same hostels as human beings, and as Nigerians, not by Religion or Ethnicity.

B) A military man, Babangida was in power. Nigerians were tired and it was like since it's Abiola, anyone is okay.

2. In year, 2022 everything has since changed. The country is more divided with religious and ethnic crises among major tribes, Herdsmen issues and many more.

Here are the questions

1. If Muslim Muslim ticket, could work, why did Buhari and other APC leaders back then in 2014 reject Tinubu as Buhari's running mate?

2. If it did not work in 2014 when the nation was not this divided, do they now think it would work now?

3. To the proponents, would they accept a South President and a South Vice President?

4. The northerners are acting like bigots, as they're saying in all of Northern Nigeria, there is no single strong Christian that can be fielded. Is this not bigotry?

5. Would they also accept a Christian President and Christian Vice President?.

6. Have we ever had a Christian northern Vice President since 1960 to date?

The Northerners are simply acting like they own Nigeria, like Christians in the north are inferior and can't lead them, and that once you fail to pacify them based on their religion, you can't win any election in Nigeria.

Nigerians need to think.
If this is allowed to be a precedent, it would continue forever
